  1. OCG We were at table 10. We must have been right next to you. And maybe also for the match, we were in row 11. Yes, it is a real pity we could not have met and introduced ourselves after so many years together on this site. In Bar 94 before we went into hospitality I did have a good look round to see if I recognised anyone from previous visits, but no luck. After the game in hospitality, with things running late because of the pitch invasion etc, we had to leave at 6pm to get our taxi back to our hotel, which was just after our two young players were introduced, so we missed the man of the match presentation and any other post game speeches, which was a shame. Maybe next time I'm up we can get our act together better and at least meet to say 'hello'. CMIB (Sandy Stewart)
  2. Just got home to sunny Berkshire after a wonderful couple of days back in Inverness. All 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed the game and thought our first half performance in particular was outstanding. So much better than most of the performances watched on Alba in recent weeks. A pity about the unnecessary pitch invasion before the game ended which made me worry for a few minutes that the ref might abandon the game. As others have said Bar94 was really buzzing pre match and enjoyable to be part of. We then treated ourselves to the hospitality package which, one again, was excellent. Our 6 shared a table with 3 Aberdeen supporters whose hobby is going round as many grounds in Scotland sampling their hospitality offerings. One of these 3 won 2nd prize in a raffle which was taking place. It was a football signed by our whole championship winning side and the Aberdeen supporter very kindly gave it to me, as he realised it would mean more to a Caley supporter than it would to him. An extremely generous and much appreciated gesture. The ball is already taking pride of place amongst my personal Caley memorabilia. Only downer for us was that BA managed to lose the hand luggage of 2 of our group on the way back to London, having insisted at Inverness airport that it would have to be checked into the hold as there was limited space for hand luggage in the cabin on an absolutely full plane. After waiting more than an hour at the luggage carousel BA finally found out that the missing bags were still in Inverness, and that they would try and get them to us in the next few days. But even all that hassle will not spoil our memories of a wonderful, and fully deserved victory. Well done to all concerned. Onwards and deservedly, upwards!
  3. Well, that was an uncomfortable afternoon. Well done Billy for the late goal, which at least means a draw v Hamilton will be sufficient. I thought for quite a while today that Alloa were going to do us a massive favour but it was not to be. So lads, let's finish the season off with a win v Hamilton, especially as I and a few ICT converts from here in sunny Berkshire will be there cheering you on. Onwards and upwards
  4. Did not appear to be very convincing, but a win is a win. Well done lads. One more win or even two draws guarantee us the title I'll take that! Well done to Cove for doing their bit today. Onwards and upwards!
  5. Well, that was a lot better, easily the best performance out of the recent 4 games shown on Alba over the last few weeks. As long as we can keep up that level of effort and skill, and don't get complacent in the next 3 games, the league title should be ours. Well done to all concerned. I am now looking forward, once again, to the last home game v Hamilton when six of us from the Reading area will be there shouting the team on. Hope to meet some of the regular contributors to this site that day.
  6. Disappointing, We had the better of the first half, but were second best after the break, although the penalty decision was a joke. Thought the overall standard of football was fairly poor, with little decent passing. Too much just punting the ball upfield. Maybe the wind and pitch contributed to that. Definitely need a win on Tuesday night now. You can do it lads. Onwards and upwards.
  7. Well, that was a hard watch. Only for about 10 minutes leading up to H/T did I feel we might have a sniff of a chance. I can't help feeling that we are burned out, and I really can't see us winning this league, and the liklihood of playoffs certainly doesn't fill me with confidence. Come on lads, prove me wrong. Onwards and upwards
  8. East Fife pulled back from 2 goals down to draw with Stenny today. WELL DONE the Fifers.
  9. How disappointing! Our season seems to be just lamely petering out. Too many draws in matches we dominated. Not that we dominated last night though. QOS always looked likely to score when they attacked whereas we huffed and puffed but did not create much Hope we can pull ourselves together in the last few games. I'm taking a group of 6 of us up for the Hamilton match in what I hoped would be a celebration. Now it seems like it will be 'after the Lord Mayor's show'. Hope I'm proved wrong. Come on boys! Onwards and upwards!
  10. Very disappointing. What a difference 5 minutes make! A minute before normal full time it was looking like we would open up a further 2 point gap over Stenny, and 5 mis later they have reduced the gap by 2. Once again all the match stats are well in our favour, bur scoring is still a problem. Some tough games ahead. Stenny away in April will be massive, but we need to win a few even before then, starting Tues night. Onwards and upwards
  11. Well done lads, good win. Sounds like the late goal made it comfortable. Altogether a very satisfying afternoon , what with Scotland duffing up France as well Onwards and upwards
  12. Thoroughly deserved win. Apart from 10 mins or so leading up to their equaliser, I thought we were always in control. Thought the pundits on Alba were very fair in their assessments of Caley's performance' Back to league business on Saturday. Another performance like this will be very welcome. Well played lads. Onwards and upwards
  13. Well done lads. Good win on a pitch which looked awful. Great couple of hours TV viewing, with the rugby on one set and our game on Alba on the other. I was bouncing between the two sets like a yoyo at times. Happy days.
  14. I think most of us would have taken this at the start of the game. It just seems a little disappointing that with about 10 minutes to go both us and Peterhead were still in the lead which would have been a 4 point gap at the top had it stayed like that. Anyway, onwards and upwards!
  15. Excellent result, Match stats indicate that we were 'all over them', but this time we matched the dominance with 3 good second half goals. Well done lads Keep it up for a few more weeks and we will all be celebrating.
  16. What a good win, even against a less than full strength Partick side. That should build our confidence after a few poor results, and get us on winning ways again, starting on Sat v Spartans. I just hope that we have enough strength in depth over the next few weeks with our fixture backlog.
  17. I was a bit anxious about this game following the less than impressive cup game mid week. But the early goal seemed to settle us down and we ran out easy winners. Well done lads, and with our two nearest rivals both well beaten. the league table makes for comfortable viewing. I'll happily take the same again in our two games next week
  18. Welcome to the forum. Like Snorbens above, I too am Inverness born and bred, but living in Berkshire, near Reading for more years than I remember (about 60 I think). There used to be a few more of us. Now I see Eagle for Caley every year or two but not many others. I still follow all ICT's matches, and have several 'converts' at my golf club who do likewise. I nearly went up for the QotS match too, but took the cheaper option when I saw that it was on BBC Alba. I hope to get up later in the season, especially if they do the hospitality at half price again.
  19. First full match I've seen this season. Really impressed with the standard of football, and great to get a few goals. And another clean sheet as well. We could do with another one next Tuesday. Well done to all concerned
  20. Wonderful, well done boys, keep it up. Dumbarton doing us a favour too. Happy days.
  21. What a sickener. To concede an og in injury time is bad enough. But then to hear that Arbroath fielded a reserve team v Annan makes it worse. Bet they don't do that next week against us. Going to be a nervous couple of weeks coming up! Hope the lads can rise to the occasion.
  22. Very hard to read the comments on here from those who were in attendance. Sounds as though it was one of our worst performances of the season. In all honesty I can't see us getting much in the next 2 games so it could be a real nail biter at Montrose on 3rd May. I'm already nervous about that prospect, so lets hope that Annon don't get much in their next 2 games either. Anyway, onwards and upwards
  23. What an encouraging result after last week's disappointment. Well done to all, especially our hat trick scorer. Annan losing gives us a bit more breathing space as well. Onwards and upwards.
  24. Well, how disappointing was that? And other results not entirely favourable for us either. Really need to pick things up next week. Come on lads, you can do it. Onwards and upwards
  25. What a result! Well done lads. I was nervous about this one pre match but the team have done us proud. Play offs not out of the question. Onwards and upwards
