  1. the management team did nothing wrong today, it's the players responsibility to be up for such an important game
  2. Officially suspended from ICTFC pending results of investigation.
  3. Tom Parratt, born in Inverness but moved away at the age of 3 to according to Wikipedia, after playing for Hamilton, Queen of the South and Airdrie United he's back in the States playing for the brilliantly named Wilmington Hammerheads
  4. Think we've missed out on Jimmy Nicholl who's just re-joined Cowdenbeath, hugely experienced with a wealth of contacts all across Britain
  5. Normally i'd defend the club the best I could, but this goes beyond that sadly. Without trying to sound like a 'Cup Half Empty' guy or even to the extreme case of Dougal I can't see this being the best man to take us forward and maintain the good setup currently in place. Admittedly Terry had a rather skewed and haphazard management career much like Yogi before ICT, but in Butchers favour was his significant success with Motherwell during the admin years and subsequent revival where he reached a national cup final. In addition, the name 'Terry Butcher' had the effect of luring, or even persuading players from England to us who would have previously in my opinion turned their noses up at us. Yogi's style of football wasn't something I was a big fan of at Falkirk or Hibs either, although if it ends up being ultimately successful here who am I to complain. All in all I see this as an uninspiring choice at this stage if it is made. With talk of "dozens" of other candidates such as Paul Hartley, Kenny Shiels and Craig Levein I share Yngwie's view of sheer deflation if he becomes the new manager. I hope however to be proved wrong, just like we were in the case of our now former manager when he first took charge.
  6. Hartley is the only candidate i'd be happy with at this stage, big let down if Yogi gets the job
  7. Quadruple if you count the Under 20's league too...
  8. No.
  9. still unsure why people are still keen on Robbo for the job, we should be looking forwards not backwards based on past successes. The lack of activity he's had on the managerial front in the last few years is deafening...
  10. managed to get odds of 50/1 on Paddy Power for John Hartson earlier (which has now decreased to 18/1 for that matter), I think he would be a good shout in my opinion, a smart guy who's done loads in the playing side of the game and also has worked alongside Chris Coleman as assistant for Wales. The man would surely have contacts with all the clubs he has previously played at which may lead to potential signings if he got the job. Personally, I think Richie must have been told by the board that a big name must be on the clubs radar to make him jump at a new deal as much as he did, which makes me think Hartson, Tapia, Larsson or another big name must be in line for it. Feel free to bookmark this for when John 'Bomber' Brown or Tangoman Calderwood get the job next week...
  11. Sorry I don't agree with this, in the last few seasons we've seen the fruition of Graeme Shinnie and Nick Ross, the first of which many on here would agree has been overlooked for a spot in the national squad. In addition we have Liam Polworth who has looked promising in under 20's matches and is now of the same age as Nick and Graeme when they first started making an impact with the first team, Calum Ferguson who has been called into Canadian national squads and our match day squads, Ryan Christie who looksstill like he could feature in years to come and not forgetting Matthew Cooper who did well when called into action last season.
  12. can't see why people want Robbo back? Backwards move in my opinion and has been in managerial no mans land for ages now
  13. Levein for me, we need an experienced manager who can steady the ship, who has been successful in the past and can hopefully retain the core of the players that Butcher will no doubt try to lure to Hibs
  14. A loss, but not a season changing loss. As we saw from the Hibs game with Ross moving into the middle where Vincent was and Greenhalgh out wide we looked just as, if not better as a team going forward. Have faith in Polworth too if Tel selects him, the St Johnstone game was just a bad collective performance from all involved and not directly related IMO with Vincent being out. I believe Raven's absense was more noticeable as Devine was getting roasted down the flanks all game. Keep the faith.
  15. a British flag? In Britain?!
  16. League: 4th League Cup: Winners Scottish Cup: Semi Finals Player of the Year: Billy McKay (with 20+ goals in all comps) I just feel whilst we may have a better starting 'team' than Aberdeen and Motherwell, the squad aspect I believe isn't as strong as the other two, especially in Aberdeen's case. I hope to be proved wrong! Don't get me wrong, I'm ever the optimist with ICT but one does wonder how a bad injury to a key player (McKay, Foran, Warren, Doran IMO) would effect the side in the long term, especially Billy as we really only have Richie who can even attempt to fill in the goalscoring gap left by McKay.
  17. Dougal I can imagine you're quite the life and soul of a party mate, you come out with such outrageous statements while making no attempt to back them up. If you're so against the club you're under no obligation to support them, simple as.
  18. "Yes, I can confirm you are a fanny..."
  19. sorry i'm not convinced by big Toby, if Vincent should be dropped then like what Renegade said move Ross into the middle and maybe Danny Williams given the job on the wing, looks the brightest of all the fringe players that have had game time IMO. Polworth could be a shout for Saturday as he adds an unknown problem for Hibs to deal with and has definitely looked the part in pre-season, even discounting his wonder strike against Raith. Even still, the saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it" definitely should be highlighted as the same side that has done as well so far did win on Tuesday, just are we getting too predictable?
  20. after seeing Hibs on Tuesday night at Easter Road I wouldn't really mind drawing them. the defence is still rank rotten and with the pace in our side we should murder them down the flanks. Michael Nelson is by far one of the slowest centre halves i've seen, making Grant Munro look like a young Speedy Gonzalez. I'd fancy Billy to have a field day on Saturday against them and if we draw them in the quarters.
  21. Same to you mate! I see that you have one time ICT player Tom Aldred in your ranks, thoughts on him as a player? He left us early into his loan deal after failing to settle North and thus hasn't given us a chance to see him properly asa player.
  22. Toby One Kenobi Nil
  23. Brill Raven Warren Meekings Shinnie Doran Draper Vincent Foran Williams McKay Esson, Devine, Greenhalgh, Adgestein, Ross, Polworth, Tremarco
  24. cannot see how anyone can be in the tiniest bit concerned? our squad has lost just 3 players in Andy Shinnie, OTJ and Reguero. Brill has looked solid and dependable in the matches so far and looks a ready made replacement for Toni, James Vincent looks like a quality buy from Tel as unlike Owain he seems to be more forward thinking in his play, and like with Brill seems to have integrated well into the squad. Admittedly I see Shinnie as a big loss, but with Doran playing in a more natural central role with more freedom to express himself and with the promising acquisitions of Williams and Watkins on the wings and Curtis Allen (who looks like he has an eye for the onion bag) I personally still see us as one of the more exciting attacking sides in Scotland. (Cue someone to bump this post come our relegation with 4 points in May).
