  1. Just looked at the forecast for next Sunday on BBC website, overnight it could get as low as -7 (is that considered warm for this time of the year up your way?), with a max daytime temp possibly of 7degs, slight wind and no snow or rain. I hope it stays that way for you guys and girls making the trip
  2. From what I have seen from the last two (televised matches), having Shinnie in midfield is benefiting both McKay and Doran....and Tremarco looks pretty solid at left back...once we get Watkins back and Draper (and now with Vincent back) I feel our season is going to go back up the gears...Shinnie in midfield for me.
  3. What a result! TBH I wasn't expecting that given Aberdeen's recent form, but looks like perhaps our winter 'blip' might be over. Have watch some of the BBCAlba coverage on IPlayer and we looked like we played pretty well....Shinnie really growing into the midfield general role, also helped that Tremarco is very solid in LB. Doran looking dangerous as well, and great that Vincent is back. Still want a decent option for or to support Billy up front though. Need to watch all 90mins later! I was in a lounge at Palace after our 1-0 win, and got some puzzled looks when I 'wooped' when ICT's result came up... made for a happy evening. Prospects of bring wife and eldest daughter up for games in the future!

Ooo I dream of this, ...a little bit on transfers, and a bit more to turn the stadium into a snazzy little 10,000 seater with wrap-around stands (leaving the main stand alone) with a futuristic titanium coloured roof and with super smart toilets, food lounges and other facilities...yes I dream alot, and of course would need to buy a flat in the 'Ness
  5. Not half as dreadful as Jason Puncheon's for my other team this weekend! Watched all but the first 15mins on TV, thought the best match I have seen on TV this season. We were lucky with the penatly not given against us, but overall considering the midield we could put out, we played some good stuff....Doran had the best game I have seen him play, Shinnie did a good job in midfield, Tremaco doing well at left back and useful games from Polworth and Williams, Greenhalgh had a tidy cameo as sub. Overall given recent results very heartening. Crowd looked very sparse on TV and no atmosphere at all. bar last 5-10mins
  6. Kwesi Appiah....this guy would do a really good job for us, mobile, strong, eye for the goal, perhaps not had enough chances at CPFC, and unlikely to with them in the EPL level but .... http://www.croydonadvertiser.co.uk/Football-League-clubs-line-Crystal-Palace-striker/story-20415863-detail/story.html
  7. Just realised the match is live on Sky down here...but given my past viewing record (no wins seen) do I watch or not?
  8. I might as well have a punt, assuming Watkins, Warren, Draper and Foran all out for various reasons (and Vincent of course) Brill Raven Meekings Devine Doran Polworth Tremarco Shinnie Williams McKay Christie Leaves Ross, Greenhalgh, Pepper on the bench, with not much else frankly Obviously way too many changes for a manager to take on, but Shinnie and Tremarco block the middle, and Shinnie has a shot on him, obviously Christie has barely played but played alongside Mckay might add some energy to the front line. Devine is fairly secure next to Meekings, I don't really rate Doran to do much going forward but has enough in him to secure the left hand side of defence to free up some 'meat' in the midfield. Ross on the bench gives us some experience to come on. When you look at the five that are missing, that is quite a miss...we need a couple of loans in quickly I reckon
  9. Sounds like a terrible day at the office, but have to agree that to attempt to go a whole season with just the 'wee' man upfront, is not going to work every match (the opposition seems to have largely sussed us out), and with Foran out, there doesn't seem any other threat...last year we had Andrew Shinnie, who could open up quite a few chances on his own and set Billy up, he's gone and now Mckay really does need a decent target man to play off. However a few injuries are also now showing what a thin squad we have. I suspect with average crowds of less than 4000, the board maybe tempted to cash in on Mckay, in order to strengthen the squad, but then we'd need to find two strikers in the 'window'. I guess alot depends on how long Watkins, Foran and Vincent are out for.
  10. I gasped when I saw that live, luckily the ref didn't take it badly!
  11. I'm going to stop watching Caley on TV at this rate, don't think I have seen them win once! We played OK I guess, all a bit subdued. although nice to see the place bathed in sunshine! Celtic did enough to win whereas apart from two cracking shots by Shinnie we looked a bit powder-puff. Our defence was pretty solid apart fronm the goal, and I though Tremarco looked good. Watkins looked quite good in parts, but our midfield although OK at breaking up play and passing backwards/sideways had no creativity at all. This was definitely a match where our lack of a plan B showed. Poor Billy, another game running around after crumbs, it's amazing that he has scored so many! I just felt how nice it would be to have a big b'stard up front with him who could occupy the defenders and lay the ball off...to be honest we could lose one of Doran or Ross to accommodate him and it would be noticed. Williams did OK I thought but he is not James Vincent... still a 1-0 defeat to the league leaders is no disgrace, and Christie could have spoiled their party late on!. Just have to make sure we don't slip up against County now.
  12. Thanks everyone... I have booked a third Hotel in Edinburgh now, and have a cheap extension to my rail ticket to get me there, so have my bases covered I think. Can't do anything about flights home 'til after the semi's.
  13. Hi I can't find any confirmation of the actual venue for the SCL Cup final.... I know that I am jumping ahead of the semi-final, but I have booked flights and hotel some time ago to come an watch Caley v Motherwell that weekend (which involves, train/underground/train from South London to Luton Airport, then flight up) ...seeing the possibility of a final on the Sunday I have covered it with a seperate (cancellable) hotel booking and train ticket to Glasgow, as it saves huge amount to book in advance (will fly back to Gatwick).... however seeing no confirmation of Glasgow as the venue, it might suggest a final in Edinburgh. Does anyone know if it's been confirmed or will they wait for the results of the semi's (in which case I book 3rd hotel option and rail ticket from Perth to Edinburgh!) Funny if should we get through, and I can't get a ticket! Anyway tomorrows match is easier...involves short walk from bedroom to lounge with beer, mince pies and TV remote in hand. Come on you Caley! BTW why do we run out to the sound of 'Titanium'?
  14. I saw Aberdeen's goals 2,3 and 4 on TV and couldn't quite believe I was watching Caley, we seemed to give up on defence for the last two. I didn't get the chance to see the 2nd half live on TV but have seen some highlights today and must say Billy's 2nd goal and Shinnie's were excellent. Perversely we can draw something positive out of that game for the response 2nd half, which we need to carry into the Partick game, as the Christmas programme is quite a tough one for the boys. I hope Watkins is back for PT, and that Foran only misses the next two games Happy Christmas to you all.
  15. Yep I was there this year...fantastic when you win, absolute ***** when you lose...Palace have won four times and lost once (to a last minute goal off Steve Claridges shin) this year worth minimum of £120m apparently (spread over several years).... In 2014 I'm hoping its a final in Glasgow I'm going to, if its the SLC I will have quite a journney since I have pre-booked expecting a home match in Inverness (but covering bases with rail tickets to, and hotel, in Glasgow!) Sorry... talk around Billy McKay has moved us slightly off topic!
  16. Absolutely! I use the term 'chaps' in a unisex way, but I guess that doesn't come across on the internet!
  17. I could understand the Millwall link since Lomas is there... I wouldn't be terribly happy to see him go there, but I could imagine he would do well. Be nice if ICT could give him an improved contract
  18. Chaps….what’s the latest on Jamie Vincent, I believe he was out ‘til Christmas, can we expect a return early in the NewYear? I notice that David Raven has been sitting on the bench since his return from injury, is Tremarco playing that well, or was Raven playing poorly before his injury. Marley Watkins… I thought Vincent was the ‘find of the season’, but he got injured too soon, however Watkins has come in, in a different role and looks like he is providing a constant threat, the BBC report from the Hearts match yesterday said ‘he supplied most of the forward momentum in their engine room.’ He certainly impressed me when I came up, and from comments on this site seems quite highly rated…could he be a potential POTY? Dean Brill has come in, and not given Esson a sniff of the goalkeeping jersey, in terms of goalies over the last few seasons how do you guys rate him? Aaron Doran… I see his name mentioned a fair bit in match reports, for good strikes on goal, and he has weighed in with a couple recently, when I have watched him he kind of frustrates me, as I think he could be a really good player, is he having a good spell at the mo? Billy McKay….scored two yesterday and already has a decent tally for the season, does anyone think he might be a transfer target for someone come January (and not just Butcher), and would the board let him go if decent money were offered?
  19. I'm glad to hear continuing good reports about Marley....when I saw him when he came on at home to Partick, I instinctively felt he was a good prospect, sometimes though a player can peak with their first game! In Marley's case I think he could become a very important player for us.
  20. I wondered about that, there used to be a player called John 'Yogi Bear' Hughes back in the 70's, he played for Celtic I think, but had a couple of years at Palace before a knee injury curtailed his career...clear not the same bloke! I feel a chant coming on...'Yogi Bear's red n blue army'
  21. Welcome Yogi... you have a tough act to follow, now is your chance to shine.
  22. Only just seen the result as the match ran over yesterday before I had to go out... a better result than I expected seen it was only 1-0 at half time. Good to hear Watkins having a good second half and Agdestein's introduction (in the 91st min) being 'decisive' in getting brought down for the 2nd penalty. I see that Morton's interim manager is David Hopkin, who has hero status down here in Palace land for the the play-off final winning goal against Sheff Utd many years ago
  23. Yessss! (who's Terry Butcher?) and Palace win as well! I'm a happy chap tonight
  24. Aha a Udinese 2nd team supporter.... I wont mention Wembley, if you don't mention Palace's season so far in the EPL. ICT seems to have more supporters south of the border than one might initially imagine!
  25. Meekings is definitely one that TB might look at in the Summer, and whose to say that after three seasons JM might think he has served his time and can honourable go to another club...(if he does, I want Palace to have 1st dib!)
