  1. Got back home to South London late on Sunday evening, which gave me a chance to put some thoughts together about the performance against Partick. Just my opinions so hope no one is offended Brill .. 6/10 apart from the second goal, I thought he was pretty solid. Little he could do for the first as neat Partick passing and poor covering left us open. The second was horrible, without seeing a replay the ball looked like it took a wicked bounce right into the goalies weak area. Raven .. 6 solid if unspectacular, not enough forward play for my liking. Warren .. 7 he didn't do too much wrong and got a goal Meekings .. 8 best ICT player on the pitch Shinnie .. 6 as Raven Mckay .. 7 gets this for sheer effort, got very little support.... really needs someone up front with him who can provide him with flick on's and lay offs Draper .. 7 hardest working midfielder, and looked effective when pushed forward, but not particularly creative. Foran .. 5 an enigma, at times looks like a pub team player, poor with the ball, but does show fight. If only he used his brain more often. Several times he gave up tracking back, which left us open, other times would get timely if unsophisticated clearances in Doran .. 5 a very frustrating player for me, has a very good left foot, and a good shot on him, and also an effective corner taker. But rarely takes a player on and turns back too often, went missing at times and no real buzz about him. Ross .. 5 better in the middle than on the wing, but lacks height, energy or creativity. Greenhalgh. 5 did some good stuff (especially in the second half) but looked laboured at times, didn't attack the full back enough. Subs... Manley, 7, I liked the look of this guy, certainly gave us a bit more buzz and guile. A good cameo, or the portent of something useful? Polworth .. 5/6 allowed Foran to go forward, and did Ok for the short time he was on Agdestein ... no mark as not on for any time. Generally I feel we were missing Vincent, plus a winger who could attack the fullback and cross, and someone upfront to lead the attack, hold the ball up and most importantly play McKay in. We seemed a bit slow at times but perhaps the pitches are heavier this far up North! That said we were unlucky not to get something out of the game, and I enjoyed it if not the result. Enjoyed my trip up and had some good weather. Come the January window, Butcher could do worse than to sign Palace's Aaron Wilbraham on loan, he maybe not good enough for the EPL (and after Mondays result against Fulham I want no jokes about the rest of the team) but he does hold the ball up well and bring players into the game. Anyway I get to see ICt v Ross County on the box on Friday and have my next trip up booked for March Come on you Caley!
  2. I'm coming up from South London and have a 100% win record watching Caley live!
  3. Well I guess the good news is we don't play St Johnstone again for a while, and we have a break to get that mess out of the system, not sure if it helps with the injuries though....I am up for the Partick match, so hope they are fired up for a response
  4. Just seen the highlights on the Beeb online...Billy's 2nd goal was a cracker, good to hear Greenhalgh had a decent run out, we need plenty of players to step up to the mark over a long season. My gut feeling is that Vincent has been a great addition... He seems to sit in Tudor Jones position but has better distribution?
  5. From the reports and TB's comments, it sounds like we didn't really get out of 2nd gear? If thats the case winning away in that fashion bodes well for the rest of the season.....anyway all set up for my visit for the Partick game, despite Sky moving it back a day...well excited
  6. That's a great result really ...to come away from Celtic Park, perhaps feeling dissappointed to have let a lead slip, whilst still being top and 3points clear, is a pretty good place to be (my other team let a lead slip at Stoke)... a fantastic start for the boys this season.
  7. Oh go on ....make this upload available in England!
  8. I hope he does enough to warrant a longer contract, may need a bit of time to settle...shall we give it three weeks! But seriously a tall guy up front even as an option over Foran should take a bit of pressure off McKay. I was only saying last week that McKay looked isolated when playing against Charlton, so this could be a shrewd move...time will tell, I am up in Inverness for the Thistle v Thistle game in October, so look forward to seeing the fruits of TB's summer signing spree
  9. Excellent performance yesterday from the lads, the defence in particular looked solid, Meekings is such a star performer, midfield worked hard and the fact that ICT had the created more and better chances says it all (we hit the post as well) ...of the new guys I really like the look of James Vincent, and Danny Williams looks promising as well. My one concern was how isolated McKay was in attack, he really needs a big guy alongside him. Support was excellent, well done to the 'choir' at the back (or should I say 'f~cking choir'?)...although didn't quite appreciate the 'stand up if you hate Palace' chant but took as humouring their fans who really seem to fixated by the 'rivalry'. Anyway great game, was able to text my Charlton supporting boss with a lttle wind-up, hopefully will be up in the Highlands some time this year
  10. Do tell! does it involve alcohol or shagging?
  11. Just found out that Caley are in London on the 27th July for a pre-season friendly against Charlton (who have the same 'pikey' tag as that lot from Dungwall) so I'm going to get myself down there! (I might have to invest in an away shirt)
  12. I'm glad you like it, I am pretty excited myself... it was when ICT and CPFC had virtually the same kit one season that sealed me adopting Caley as my Scottish club, now if ICT could adopt Palace's away kit, I could get one with Eagle4Caley on the back!
  13. I was thinking much the same thing looking at the situations with Hearts and Killie, the temptation to splash the cash for a little bit more success, can be very seductive, especially for fans who aren't actually finding the money.... my other club 'Palace, have twice gone into administration, just hours away from total wipeout last time, thats when being a supporter becomes really emotional, now that we have go promoted to the EPL (hurrah!) there are a few fans with short memories who want the owners to spend every last penny of the TV money we get, even before we have got it. So well done Caley, looks like a well run club.
  14. Watching the match on the telly down here, I could not believe what a disgrace that County pitch was, the SPL should fine them for bringing the league into disrepute. I think we probably just ran out of puff with a small squad, but what a brilliant season its been, can't wait for the fixtures to come out so I can plan my next visit.
  15. Blimey my other team did it...hopefully good omen for Sunday eh?
  16. Brilliant...another cliff-hanger! and it's live on Sky.... yippee (I won't be quite so happy tonight after Brighton have smashed my other team)
  17. What a brilliant result, and fantastic for McKay getting his hat-trick, sounds like a great, if topsy turvy game to watch....what with Palace winning their first match in ten games to cement their play-off place I'm in a very happy place tonight. I just hope both my teams can reach their respective targets. I notice Hogg in the team, that must be his first start since his injury, how did he play?
  18. Meekings outstanding, Doran had moments...Tudur-Jones, alot better than the Ross County game and one of his shots was pretty close, McKay ran his socks off (with no service)....we had that end of season look in the first half (and seem to be short of players!) but better for the first part of the second. Andy Shinnie was a bit quiet, and I was perturbed to hear the commentator say he might be going to Birmingham, has anyone heard this? (if he's going to leave Caley at all, I want him at Palace!) BTW the North Stand sounded pretty good on the telly! So nice to be able to sit down with the wife and point out where I actually sat when I came up. Good luck for the final five...lets secure that European place, would love my first away game to be at somewhere like Lille!
  19. Terrific result for the lads...made up in some measure for the miserable performance of my other team against Birmingham (0-4)...the match on Friday is live on Sky down here, so really excited to be able to sit down with the wife and a beer and watch it.
  20. Hi...yep did make it, had a brilliant trip, gonna post a little summary of my trip and teams performance in next day or so, but stand out for me were Shinnie and McKay, and all the defence played well, deserved the penalty when Taylor was caught (Even if there was a question of whether their defender got a bit of the ball, you can't take the player out on the follow through this days) Bit surprised to see Foran playing where he did, and loved TB's celebration at the end.
  21. Reinforcement(s) from South London have arrived...Me....I may be only one but have the voice of a whole army, have a good feeling about today, absolutely loving the place...come on you Caley!!!!!!
  22. Just watched the highlights, given some of the penalty decisions I've seen recently, that could easily have been given, it certainly looked like Shinnie had his foot trod on .. I can't see how the ref can be sure enough to book him for diving, at the speed he was going at, any obstruction of his foot would see him over.
  23. Just watched the highlights...hadn't realised it was beach football! Can't wait for the return match and my trip up from South of the border
  24. Being tremendously impressed when 'Super'Caley beat Celtic 3-1 in the cup...decided I would keep an eye on ICT from then on. Seeing Caley's colours for 2006-2008 were the same as Palace's that season, that pretty much did it for me...ICT were adopted as my Scottish team Feeling genuinely upset by relegation in 2009 Being as excited by Caley's promotion the following year as Palace beating off relegation and avoiding going out of business that same year Persuading my tour guide to take a detour last October so I could finally see the stadium Wearing my Caley scarf to work, having people say they like my 'Palace' scarf, and correcting them
  25. Just seen the highlights, that was a fair old game, and St Mirren rather surprised me (and ICT?). I known we had home advantage, but that was probably a better point than I first thought given that we had to come from behind twice and St Mirren had a couple of really good chance late on. Was pretty impressed with Andrew Shinnie though! Who was the MOTM?
