matchday thread - stirling
First things first. Well done to Albion, who had a plan and executed it well. Now to the positives - at least we are still in the cup, and Fisher showed more in half a game than Lopez did in half a season. I was disappointed at our energy levels today. We should have been trying to play the game at a high tempo to try and test the fitness levels of part-time players. Instead, when they let us have the ball, we did our usual thing of passing around at the back like we had all the time in the world. We should have scored in the second half, but Storey managed to clear his own shot off the line. Fisher engineered a chance on the turn, but was reaching for the shot and only really poked it at the keeper. Other than that it was all shots from distance really I suppose Mutombo had a chance in stoppage time, but he may have been better served pulling it back. Stirling had a couple of chances, but I didn't feel we were ever under any real pressure. There was a palpabable lack of width today, which was emphasised when Fisher came on. We need to get that sorted out.

Team News - Injuries and Suspensions etc
Having read the document linked to by CaleyD above, the points thing has gone, and a league suspension is incurred after six yellow cards. So Draper must only have 5 booking as far as the SFA are concerned. I guess the Aberdeen caution must be spurious, but that is speculation.

Slow news day I guess

January transfer window.
That Mail article (yeah, I clicked the link - sorry) just seems to be a rehash of Yogi's comments either just before or after the Celtic game 6 weeks ago - so a total punt by someone. The Daily Heil making sh!t up? Whoulda thunk?

While I agree with the sentiment, that gif - how, why?

Team News - Injuries and Suspensions etc
Can't believe the nuts and bolts of discipline are so far into that document - a simple web page with the rules would be so much simpler. But on reading that, the points for cautions has now gone, and 6 bookings in the league means a suspension. This would suggest one of three things 1. Devine was booked v Aberdeen, but was mistaken for Draper - the early match reports stated that the penalty was given for handball against Draper 2. Both were booked, but the BBC journalist was too busy reading Rangers forums to notice Devines's booking. 3. It was Draper, not Devine booked and the SFA have fecked up. 2 would mean Draper also reached 6 cautions v Hamilton and would miss one game from 13th Jan - ruling him out of the Killie game. We should find out tomorrow when the latest suspensions are published.

Douglas Adams was a Seer
I sometime wonder why I bother... Oh, and Livingston only managed 18 points in 05/06.

Team News - Injuries and Suspensions etc
Just checked through the BBC match reports for league bookings, and according to them Devine is only on 5. Draper is on 6, but his 6th booking was Hamilton on the 30th, so shouldn't appear til this week's suspension list. However, he isn't down as being booked against Aberdeen, and it looks like he was from the highlights. The only thing that is clear is that the whole thing is a confusing mess.

January transfer window.
I don't think Mutombo is on loan. And you do realise that terminate by mutual consent means that both parties have to agree? May well mean having to pay up Lopez's contract.

What will 2016 bring for ICT
Game only lasts 90 mins

Draper may well be suspended for Kilmarnock too.

On the basis of today, I would be disappointed to finish below County. Aberdeen keep believing their own publicity, and Hearts have blown hot and cold since the end of August. I don't know if the St Johnstone bubble has burst or not, but I might do after tomorrow. Having finally got into the top 6 this season, we are capable of consolidating it, but need to find some consistency. Some 90 minute performances like today may help.

Inverness CT -V- Ross County
To echo the sentiments above, that was a highly satisfying result. Perhaps the most pleasing part was that we didn't try to sit back on a two goal lead and continued to try and play our football further up the park. County didn't really threaten apart from some long distance shots. Ive also finally worked out county's signing policy - if you are a horrible barsteward with a stupid name, then you're in.

Team News - Injuries and Suspensions etc
Thanks. I thought it was something like. Wouldn't it be an idea for the SFA to publish the ts & cs around discipline so that fans could at least try and understand what is going on? Or do they just revel in obfuscation and confusion.

Team News - Injuries and Suspensions etc
The suspension list on the SFA website covers referee reports received up to 30.12.2015. I'm guessing the report from the Hamilton game won't have landed, so more likely Draper will be in next week's issue of Scotland's Stupidest Decisions

Aren't there points allocated for booking (1 or 2) I think, and 12 points is a ban? If I recall correct, most caution able offences are 2 points, so 6 bookings usually equals a ban, but it isn't a certainty. I'm sure this used to be the case, but it is possible I am behind the times This stuff used to be available on the SFA website, but I am darned if I can find it these days. And how unlike the SFA to have a system that isn't quite transparent!

Douglas Adams was a Seer
I have finally worked out what Douglas Adams' 42 was the answer to: How many points would you need to guarantee finishing outside the bottom 2 of the Premiership/SPL since the 12 team, 38 game format was introduced. So six more wins then

I take it that means he misses the Killie game on the 16th. Been on the cards for a while - I think he has been 1 booking short for a bit. Ironic that the one that tips him over was for protesting about a penalty that wasn't. Given by that **** Collum. He even manages to spoil games he doesn't referee!

Thanks. That would suggest tha Dundee Utd are fecked!

2015 Premiership Table (01/01/15 - 31/12/15)
Regarding Dundee Utd - they have had a wretched year, so maybe not such a surprise to see them where they are. Killie only 1 point ahead of Hearts also. There is the obvious follow up question - how does this look as points per game?

New Year Derby
If we get a 10 goal lead we shouldn't consider defending it!
