  1. May get completely shot down for this but here goes ... in any walk of life one learns most when one is given a baptism of fire  ... RF mentioned learning much more from this than a comfortable top six experience ... certainly a costly, painful on-the-job manager training for the fans/club to experience but ... could he be a much better manager next season for this and should he maybe be given the opportunity to start the season?

The results have ended better, he loves the club, is tenacious and we have no £ for attracting a sexy alternative.

    Release the dogs ...

Foran was a great player for us but has been a lousy manager. He's taken a top six squad and relegated us at the first time of asking. Has lost all credibility with this "three bad apple" garbage. Funny how we waits until we're down to air his dirty laundry. Classic diversionary tactics from a guy who's clearly out of his depth in this role. Instead of slating players he'd be better looking at coaching colleagues who've slated him all season to anyone who'll listen.

Despite the above the blame for today's relegation lies at the door of messrs Sutherland, Cameron and the Sutherland installed puppets on the board. Shameful mismanagement from parties who are entirely detached and uninterested in the footballing side of the Sutherland vanity project.

Time for radical change from top to bottom.

He took over a bottom six team last year. We were 7th in 2015-16.

If it hadn't been for events at New Douglas Park, that would have been an enjoyable game. First half was quiet, but better quality than many this season. Motherwell certainly made a game of it. A great 10 minutes to go 3-0 up: great strike from Tansey and Fisher got a couple...as he deserved for his effort. The atmosphere went flat when Hamilton scored, only reignited when a crazy rumour circulated that Dundee had scored 2. Applauded the players off, but couldn't bear to stay on, so missed the afters. Tansey didn't deserve abuse, but I wasn't impressed with his after-match interview. Good performance, sad day.

    Ditto on all counts

  4. Fisher made plenty appearances before Christmas albeit a number as sub (because Doumbouya was scoring more then). In all that time he only scored once ... against Celtic. His form has improved ... but back then I completely understand why RF was trying others ... and I'm no happy-clapper / fan of RF

All this talk about "the losses incurred by relegation".   What losses?  Can anyone say what they are, and then quantify them?

If the club is relegated then there will be less money coming in next season than this season, and, one hopes, less going out.  But losses?  Less or no TV money isn't a loss - it's less or no TV money.  Less or no prize money isn't a loss - it's less or no prize money.

The club will have a smaller turnover. It may make a loss - though there is the parachute payment to take into account. But relegation is a fact of life for a football club, and I think you'd be hard pressed to point to a particular loss - an actual loss, not a shrinkage in revenue - and say "that is directly as a result of relegation".

The audited accounts for the year after we were relegated showed an actual loss of over £900k. So what we took in was £900k less than what we paid out. Plain and straight. The accounts are available free to the public on the betacompanieshoise website.

I'm not surprised with Richie's comments. What is he meant to say? His future employers will be looking at the tapes, taking notes, he can't afford to seem anything other than professional and collected. We have no idea what bollocking he may or may not be giving the team in the dressing room and in training. I think it's better for his career as a manager to take to a cookie cutter response when he himself may be gobsmacked at the performances we've seen over the season rather than let the frustration that he is no doubt feeling show in footage that is eternally archived on the internet.

Future employers assumes that Richie will leave sometime ... and that someone else would be interested in his football management skills

I don't think any video interview spin can gloss over this season's utter shambles.

"I'm delighted with the players' performance.........We were the far the better team.........We didn't get what we deserved and that was the 3 points"

I'd be interested to know if our fans at the game agree with that.

Genuinely thought the quote was a wind-up ... but now seen the video ... cannot believe he is still coming out with this

  8. A mere fortnight again Dundee changed manager. At that stage they looked like a dead man walking ... in free fall ... THE team to catch. They are now virtually safe of even the playoff place.

The sin of procrastination. The blame lies fully ... fully with the board.

Biggest suprise for me is just how long it is taking ICT to get relegated, despite being crap ALL season. Seems as tho it should all have been settled weeks and weeks ago

On any given day, all the teams below top 3 can be poor. Seen games this season at ICT where folks around us have said of the opposition  "you know they're pretty poor as well". The problem is we are poor virtually every week.

  10. Like the home kit. Initially wasn't sure about the away kit but it's growing on me ... especially with the gold trim ... possibly the closest we'll get to a precious metal for some time.

A solid win that should have been much more emphatic. First half we were very good, but sat off too much in the second half. Even still, we defended extremely well. I like the look of Louis Laing. I was at the Motherwell game a couple weeks ago and although we were poor as a unit at the back, Laing looked strong and composed. We should try and keep hold of him no matter what devision we're in.

It was definitely a battling performance and Draper and Tansey epitomised that, but even with the win the odds are firmly stacked against us. We'll need to improve again if we're to take the points at Killi.

Laing isn't great with crosses into the box though. Often on back foot, poor positioning so he can't head clear. Caught out again today that way with the Hamilton goal.

^ Agreed, the board backed him with signing Billy along with bringing in Laing, Ebbe & McCart plus last summer we saw Brad, MacNaughton (who wont be cheap), Cole, King, Mulraney, Doumbaye & Boden all come in, that's significant backing IMO. Other than last season when we had 'significant' injuries I don't recall as many players being brought into the club.

    ^ This!!
