  1. Dear oh dear ... farce ...
  2. Why did we sign Ryan Williams (a virtually identical player to Tansey by all accounts and youtube) if we planned to keep Tansey? ... and given midfield is where we are clearly so lacking in options? ;)
  3. Michael Higdon? Very tidy goalscoring ratio for Motherwell. Good partner for Storey with height/presence in box. Played under Yogi at Falkirk. Released by Sheffield Utd.
  4. Looks like tidy midfield playmaker/dead ball specialist in Tansey mould ...
  5. Thank goodness we've got Richie tied up on a long deal ;)
  6. No quite so ... quite so ... lol ... but credit where credit's due
  7. Nice to see ICT get a checky wee mention on BBC Sports Personality Of Year last night ... can be seen at just over 42 minutes in if anyone missed and wants to see on iPlayer.
  8. Yeh, what on earth has happened to Jordan Roberts? He was a brilliant prospect pre-season. Did Barry Wilson say/infer something on the radio about a Yogi/Raven fall-out? Dressing room disharmony/good, fit players out in the cold is the last thing we need just now.
  9. Very recently in the media, I heard someone who was nearing the end of his ICT contract say that he was passing responsibility for sorting out a new contract to his agent. He said he liked Inverness and really wanted to stay ... it was Edward Ofere. It seems fair to say that a contract has been offered to Yogi. If it hasn't been agreed or if Yogi thinks there is still something to be discussed, then surely the offer isn't viewed as good enough and Yogi is offloading responsibility to his agent in the media to appear the good guy (so to speak) to the fans/outside world. An agent, surely by definition, normally takes instruction from whoever he/she is agent for.
  10. Anyway back to the subject of the thread ... just how likely is Yogi to sign up again ... and if he isn't should he go before the season end ... for various reasons (current relative form, last game, heart loyalties) am I too much of a cynic / pessimist to really fear a play-off toe-to-toe versus the flying Hibees?
  11. i look at it slightly differently ... Before and after the approach from Dundee Utd ... Just saying
  12. Wonder if unsettled managers has a bearing ... With St J losing as well.
  13. Something wrong in the dressing room me thinks
  14. If Yogi does feel any disappointment, it may quickly be healed/soothed by the realisation that Utd shouldn't be cried over given they were too tight (even after big transfer fees in) to reach into their pockets for the relatively modest sum required to get their apparent previously preferred choice to eventual out-of-contract freebie Mixu. Utd = joke of a club. Now board please do the decent thing and get our cup winning manager on a better/bigger contract.
  15. General Melchett: If nothing else works, a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through. :) Im assuming you know exactly how much it will cost for Yogi to leave before his contract finishes, or are you just assuming he is only worth his salary until the end of May. Naturally I don't know for sure. Just a bit of banter bud. Frankly, I'd be amazed if Yogi didn't go to Utd. Not because he necessarily should. The rumours, the fact that £ talks and he is bound to be offered more there, he'll naturally feel professional pride and maybe not believe the Inverness manager "curse", the lure of a " bigger" club, closer to family, the feeling he has probably maxed out at Inverness ... And finally the feeling I get that we maybe haven't even offered him a better/extended contract ... Unbelievable as that might be .... Have we really "shown him the love", our most successful ever manager?

  17. Wishful thinking I fear. All down to Yogi I expect. In practical terms, he can probably walk away regardless safe in the knowledge that whatever he loses should more than be made up by what he gets from Utd. As for compensation to Inverness, I can't imagine it will amount to much on the wages he is likely on at ICT and being in his last year.
  18. Hmm ... to go or not to go ... wonder if he'll contact Craig Brewster for an opinion / hindsight.
  19. Definitely seems to be an ICT weakness. Think I saw David Raven (our Cup semi hero no less) being quoted in the press recently saying that he hopes a contract doesn't take so long to get sorted the end of this season as it did last season. A bit fed up of us always appearing 1. Reactive instead of proactive in sourcing good people/players and 2. Not securing them better once they are here.
  20. Excellent advice from a P & J columnist below ... the board needs to take heed ... why delay/prevaricate ... offer Yogi a better/longer contract now ... he's alluded to that in the press himself as being what he'd like ... if United don't get him/want him, another club is bound to sniff around sooner or later. https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/sport/football/inverness-caledonian-thistle/717068/andy-skinner-john-hughes-dundee-united-caley-thistle-need-keep-man/
  21. So the departure of Billy MaKay wasn't after all the same kind of mortal wound as the similar exit of David Bingham in 2004 was also predicted to become? The old adage "nobody is indispensable" probably applies ... Although management will need to get their thinking caps on for January if Miles does goes back to his parent club (along with Silva to his) ... Especially if, by that stage, we've put County to the sword again and are looking at a League Cup semi-final at worst.
  22. Agreed. That just what I was saying during the game. Much more than a finisher (which he is also good at). Would be great to have him stay beyond January.
  23. Feel like our season started tonight. Terrible first half. Yogi obviously said right things at half-time. Draper should have finished off the game before the sending off but probably dealing with a nose bleed. Don't know how the ball stayed out later on too when on the line. Good finish from Storey after lots of positive energy ... and I do believe I saw Dave the Rave skill past 3 players. We're on the up :) Good times. was it not Vincent that got motm at ground? Yes Vincent
