  1. Pleased with Anier signing. Maybe less prolific in Scotland recently but, given a chance, he is good at putting them away. Remember him scoring for Motherwell at Inverness in a typical smash-and-grab a year or two back. He scored with a really decent finish in a WC qualifier against BELGUIM on their patch last year ... their first conceded goal of their WC2018 campaign. In a game like that (Estonia lost 8-1) against real quality he wouldn't have had much in the way of chances but he still ended up on the scoresheet.
  2. I bought my tickets through the independent ticket company phone number when I couldn't get through to the club and got stung for a £4 booking fee ... just as well the ticket prices are otherwise low ... nonetheless, glad to get them and looking forward to the game.
  3. Hope I'm proved wrong but the Transfermarkt career to date information on Dean Ebbe is really disappointing ... striker hasn't even been his preferred role ... and as for goals scored ... http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dean-ebbe/profil/spieler/223628
  4. He may not have had a choice.
  5. "So called fans" Not cool, Dougal ... people who pay good money to support the team they love at home/away and who really care about its well-being are entitled to an opinion politely made ... otherwise what is the point of a forum? Let's all be happy clappers rain or shine, premiership or league 2 right?
  6. Disappointing if true especially if Storey doesn't materialise. Don't think he's had a fair go given his early season goals and the fact that our current one-up top system clearly isn't working. Would have liked to see him start much more games alongside either Fisher/Doumbouya.
  7. Anyone know when/how ICT tickets for the Elgin City cup tie become available to buy? I've logged onto my ticket account on ICT FC website and the next game referred to is just the Partick Thistle league game at the end of the month.
  8. Yes indeed ... as I alluded to in my earlier post.
  9. Interesting to note that we have scored more league goals this season than any other bottom-6 team and only two less than Rangers ... goals against is a very different story.
  10. Could have/should have been a slaughter yesterday. County looked menacing every time they went forward. It was like "if you by huffing and puffing, get lucky and get a goal back, then we'll just go up and get another one" We looked slow/blunt. No idea why RF persists in starting with Vigurs and one large, slow target-man striker. Vigurs has given some special moments but him and Tansey in the same team is a "luxury" we can ill afford. Even if Tansey moves on, I'd rather see Polworth start. We can still save our season with: 1. Storey back ... his pace working off Doumbouya/Fisher could transform us going forward 2. Full backs defending more and attacking with less abandon. If we have a winger-type on each side, then why do Mckay and Tremarco need to leave the centrebacks so exposed? Tremarco is coming in with goals but what is the point if we are shipping more at the back? Really want RF to turn this around but don't think he was watching the same game if he thought we were the better team.
  11. Please two up top to start against County (my preference Doumbouya and Boden, who scored a few goals for us at start of season). Fisher puts in a lot of effort granted but one goal (albeit against Celtic) is a poor, poor return for all his game time. One swallow doesn't make a summer ... Lopez scored against Celtic last season.
  12. Mr Magoo must have been match sponsor today .. Vigurs? Can't fathom how he's starting let alone walking away with MoM. Need to try something different. If Fisher/Doumboya are hold-up strikers, need someone alongside up top to feed off them because our score/chance ratio is lamentable. Give Boden a run out and sacrifice Vigurs ... he looks like he is constantly running through treacle. Doran showed impetus and vision when he came on and unlucky with his crossbar effort. He loves going to Dingwall so has to start against them.
  13. Lots of disappointment and fear for the future here ... but we are still the only league team to have taken points off Celtic. It just seems that when we are bad, we're awful. I wasn't at the game today. My son's primary school supplied ball boys to Borough Briggs so I took in Elgin's demolition of Montrose ably assisted by man of the match, ex-ICT Shane Sutherland. As someone who trekked down to Alloa (with family in tow) midweek early season for the League Cup horror show, I fear all the ingredients may be set for another humbling cup upset if we don't pick up our ideas over the next few weeks. Given some of the songs I heard today, some of the good folks of Elgin may be thinking the same thing.
  14. I do take your point but Kenny McLean didn't even need to put it into the corner. A decent strike but saveable/defendable.
  15. Attended yesterday. Watched highlights today. 1st Aberdeen goal - Soft free kick. Madison went down very easily (how often will that be said this season?!) Fon Williams positioning for a free kick argh! He does seem suspect in that dead ball situation. Surely if two over the ball who can put either side, positioning should be a bit more central? He lost us that goal although he saved us a goal by his wonderful save from Considine's 2nd half header. 2nd Aberdeen goal - What on earth was Gary Warren thinking? I'll say it again ... what on earth was Gary Warren thinking? Clumsy, suicidal defending. As soon as Hayes started running into the box I was saying in my head don't touch him, he'll go down. Gaz raised an arm then when that fails, just takes him out in a mock tumble of legs he had no chance of getting away with. Aberdeen are a very "streetwise" team that will play for fouls, fall down at the merest touch. Not just Madison, most of the team irrespective of size or frame. A regular theme in recent encounters ... they don't need additional help from us.
  16. Great seeing Doran start. Composure and creativity on the ball, cool head to score. Hope he's not out again. Like having a new signing. A little disappointed with draw after 2-0, 3-2 up but Hearts could have edged it in the end so can't complain too much. Hearts either played the ref like a piano or he's a closet Jambo who came out today. That simple. Most people I walked past after the game were talking about him. They just had to fall over (embarassingly given their obvious physicality) to get a free kick. We were often man handled and usual got nothing. Loved Draper's sarastic applause of a positive decision near end. Said it all. Can't helped wondering what the score might have been with OFW. Cammy Mackay did OK but, with OFW's miracles of recent weeks, he might have prevented one or two who knows. Hope he's back soon. It's a shame Brill seems to be rotting on the bench at Motherwell.
  17. Loving this season's spirit/resilience/fitness in repeatedly scoring late, late goals
  18. Link to article below including reference to radio interview to be broadcast later today. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37501055
  19. Well said. I specifically logged on to sing Brad's praises. Wonderful cross for the first goal. Great composure and selfless play laying on Polworth for the third. A quality footballer who happens to be a defender. Great signing. Raven always holds a special place for a certain semi-final goal but Brad Mckay offers a good deal more in an attacking sense.
  20. Take a look at @McBookie's Tweet: Our League Cup conquerors, the mighty Wasps, were the victims of a dodgy ref decision tonight against Celtic. Imagine if the Alloa keeper had done this. Refs subconsciously or otherwise seem to err towards favouring OF probably for fear of the post-match scrutiny by the media/Wegie hordes on any big decision against OF.
  21. Ryan probably has several thousand reasons a week to be not too disappointed just yet ... although naturally he'd no doubt like to play as well. For the football fan (especially of an ICT persuasion), it's pretty depressing that such wonderful talent is spending most games warming the bench.
  22. ... and well done to Richie for his part (as well as the lads). Refreshing to hear a post-Celtic match interview with an ICT manager that doesn't slaver on about the wunderful Glashgow Sheltic being a turrific side.
  23. In recent seasons we've often lost last minute goals. This season we're starting to score crucial last minute goals. Very pleasing.
