  1. Any out of contract keepers around .... what's Jimmy Calder doing these days?
  2. Steven Thomson ... who'd believe he used to play for Rangers
  3. Weighing up the merits of watching BBC with volume muted.
  4. Watching BBC pre-match coverage ... have I missed something ... is it Rangers that are playing?
  5. As scores stand, we will be 7 points adrift from 10th having played a game more with Rangers and Celtic the next two league games.
  6. Bizarrely, peculiarly still tonight we remain the only team in the league to have taken points off Celtic this season ... and yet I have less hope than before that glorious, unforgettable night 17 years ago.
  7. Is he still available? ... that's what I want to know
  8. A bit of honesty from Richie. Respect. Might be too late though if he's lost the dressing room. Feel sorry for him.
  9. I know it's not ... I was quoting our esteemed manager ... Look up "sarcasm" in the dictionary
  10. Remember it's all good ... we're going for top six even though we've lost another "must win"
  11. To be fair, Doumbouya is our top scorer in the league this season to date ... so all the best to him... Delighted to have wee Billy back though.
  12. Barry Wilson and Willie Miller were both bang on with their post-match comments. Forget top six ... Richie is completely deluded with that. Flat, boring, unimaginative. I hope the team sickness story is true because some players, especially Tansey, seemed anonymous, flat, lacking passion or invention. Patrick bossed us for long periods and were more deserving of a win. I normally religiously stay to the end but had to be away early today ... Coincidentally I had no particular wish to stay. We are sleepwalking to relegation and sadly I don't think the board has a game-changer in their locker. Tuesday is big but certainly not decisive. Plenty more points to play for but at the moment I honestly don't know where a win is coming from because I've no confidence we'll beat any team on current form.
  13. Given we have been soundly beaten at home by the other Jags in the recent past by their high pressing approach against us, I fear that formation could go spectacularly wrong. Doran and Cole aren't defensively minded; their undeniable strengths lie elsewhere. We need 4 at the back. Are Meekings, Raven and Horner all out?
  14. It's a shame it wasn't Morton that got Celtic away as it was initially (almost) announced
  15. The curious lack of celebration immediately afterwards had initially led some of us to wonder if the goal was going to stand.
  16. A video clip of the Elgin goal by a "Northern Scot" Elgin press reporter. Described as fabulous free kick by BBC report. I beg to differ. Howler ...
  17. I have been calling for Boden to start and hoped he'd take his chance today. I agree his link up play at times was good but he never looked like scoring and I remember a truly awful lay-off out of play in 1st half. Doumbouya had far more chances and maybe should have scored more but the reality is, without him, we wouldn't have won today. To coin a cliche ... goals win games.
  18. Vigurs badly at fault for being dispossessed while doddling on edge of box just before free kick. From where I was standing, the Elgin goal looked like another really embarassing flap from OFW in missing weak free kick at near post (very like the lost goal to Hamilton a few weeks back). He can be a decent shot stopper in open play but seems so vulnerable at free kicks. We were fairly disjointed. Cole showed good skills at points and became the target for regular cross field long balls. Unlucky with chances missed (woodwork for Doumbouya header, Vigurs free kick). Elgin tired in the 2nd half (thankfully). We seemed scared of shooting on a number of occasions. Glad to see two upfront though and also pleased that Anier came on for Boden near the end (should have been earlier). He looked quite sharp. I think he should start with Doumbouya instead of Boden (who was disappointing today). Polworth playing at right back was caught out a few times today. Obviously not his position and the fans let him know but I was disappointed to hear swear back at the fans ... surely the cardinal sin for any player. Anyway we squeezed through and it's all about the result in the cup. Let's build on this.
  19. "You'll never sing that ... you'll never sing that ... Scottish Cup Champions ... you'll never sing that"
  20. I doubt there's anyone out there on our budget that can single handedly save us ... we need a combination of more goals scored and less goals conceded ... I reckon he can play a reasonable part with one of these aspects ... but nobody can do it on their own.
  21. What on earth do people expect. Reality check folks. Let's be positive if there's reasonable grounds ... and I happen to think there is. Happy to get shot down at end of season if he shoots blanks but Anier has the potential to be a very decent signing. Appearances at Utd were shared with Mckay and Ofere. Utd may have gone down but had a decent squad on paper, other internal political issues didn't help. We have an exceedingly tight budget and not everyone wants to come to Inverness.
