  1. I actually thought Gardyne had a good game. He generally used the ball well, and was tracking back to assist Deas, whilst also creating a couple of opportunities. I wasn’t convinced about signing him, but so far he has been doing ok. Whether he is a better option than Doran really depends on how fit Doran is. He looked sharp when he came on and displayed some good skills a couple of times.
  2. Another 1-0 win. We deserved it, but Ayr made a game of it. Duku should have scored early on which may have made it an easier afternoon. I thought the goal was put in by Walsh (or at least the ball in by Duku came off him) but see the BBC gave it as an own goal. Nice to have three clean sheets, but we did have a couple of comic moments at the back again. Carson was my top pick, closely followed by MacGregor. Good to see Welsh back too. His calmness helped when we were closing the game out. Nine points out of nine and a top of the table clash at Killie to look forward to. Let’s enjoy it whilst we can.
  3. Unless I’ve missed it, the summary promised “in the next 10 days” is already a more than a week late in appearing. Has anyone seen it?
  4. As a first timer in this, what happens to predictions when games are postponed or, as with Raith - Dunfermline last night, abandoned? Do the predictions carry forward for when the games take place or do we predict again? Thanks.
  5. Really looking forward to being back in my own seat, first time since we beat Queen of the South 3-1 on a windy night a lifetime ago. Having seen the Peterhead, Stirling and Raith games in the stadium and the Arbroath one on the livestream, I’m hopeful we maintain our recent form. I’d take a 1-0 win but hope for a win with a great performance and a few goals.
  6. Two for Jack Brown for Rothes and one for Andrew MacRae for Brora as their teams got through to the semi finals of the North of Scotland Cup last night. I see Elgin were involved (Rothes beat them 2-0). Did we not participate in it a couple of seasons ago?
  7. Marley Watkins is being released by Cardiff when his short term deal expires at the end of this month.
  8. Is it good that the shortest odds in the Championship are for us to win??
  9. A third Highland League team is now managerless: http://www.hflhub.co.uk/index.php/2769-low-resigns-as-locos-manager

Sunday at 1400 but the tweet doesn’t say who they are playing!
  11. Ticketing and PPV details released. Most of us back in our own seats! https://ictfc.com/ticket-info-ayr-utd-h-21-08-2021 Nice to see a live chat facility on ICTV. Just need it on the main site now (and someone who keeps an eye on it!): https://ictfc.com/ictv-info-ayr-united-h

Had a look on line to see what I could about their fixtures. Sadly the information is very out of date: https://ictfc.com/ictwfc-fixtures-and-results
  13. A rare goal for Jamie McCart in the League Cup for St Johnstone today.

The result was a 2-1 win for East Fife.
  15. 2 for Nathan Austin and 1 for Rory McAllister this weekend. The only Highland League goalie can see is another for Jack Brown for Rothes.

  17. Thanks. I’ve edited my prediction above.
  18. Duku’s record is interesting as he seems to move club each season. A Raith fan I know said he fell out of favour after a fall out with the Manager. It will be interesting to see what his attitude is like if Mckay starts and he is only on the bench. I agree he has potential but for me the jury is out.
  19. We will be playing Buckie at home on the first weekend in September after they beat Brechin tonight. Cup game against a team in green and white……
  20. Graeme Shinnie came off the bench late and scored the first Derby penalty in a shoot out as they squeezed past Salford City in the same cup.
  21. We could also do with a young goalie who can learn from Ridgers and be able to be on the bench should he or MacKay be injured or suspended. Ridgers was lucky not to be sent off on Saturday so we would have had a problem for the Ayr game had that happened.
  22. By my reckoning, that leaves us with a squad of 21: Goalies: Ridgers, MacKay Defenders: Carson, Duffy, Broadfoot, Devine, Deas, Harper Midfield: Welsh, Allardice, McAlear, MacGregor, Hyde Wide: Doran, Walsh, Gardyne, McDonald Forwards: Duku, Mckay, Sutherland, Jamieson
