  1. 4-1. Lewis Nicolson. Sets us up nicely for a crunch game against Queens Park next week, one we really need to win. They’ve won 6 on the trot in the league and have scored 23 goals on that run.
  2. Andrew MacAskill for Buckie on Tuesday.
  3. Our last three games there have ended 0-0! The one before that we won 1-0. I’d take a 1-0 win tomorrow.
  4. Delaney needs to be switched on, with Mackay tracking back and whoever is on the left of the central pairing needs to be ready to cover. The best approach is to get the ball to Mackay so their winger has to track back to help their right back and limit his ability to cause us trouble as a result.
  5. Sounds like they’ve found a decent winger. Does he play in the left or right? Our full backs are hopefully up to speed on him and keep him out of the game.
  6. HT 0-1 FT 1-2 ICT Billy Mckay Arbroath McKenna Crowd 1623 Yellow Carson
  7. Tremarco is still in the area and is often at games if County are not playing. I believe he still coaches County’s youngsters and is a key member of the backroom team there. Maybe a combination of Esson, Tremarco and Tokely would be the change we need if a change is made at some point. Yogi is a no for me, whilst McCann would have stayed if he’d wanted to. I’m not sure if our package would attract the likes of Alexander. Please not Ferguson though! If he was lunching with the CEO it was hopefully just because they know each other from Rangers. What’s Wright up to nowadays?
  8. Stuart Golabek appointed interim Manager at Brora with Josh Meekings one of those assisting him. The previous Manager resigned. Golabek had only returned to Brora as Assistant Manager recently.
  9. There is nowhere for a camera on that side of the ground now. The podium used has not been there since the concerts.
  10. Billy’s hat trick: look at the ground he made up to be on the spot to turn his third in after it came back off the post from Doran’s header: and Danny’s goal: It’s a pity they’ve not put the own goals on line. I’d like to see them again, particularly the second one. It was a good laugh at the time!
  11. I thought Welsh had his best game for some time, pulling the strings in midfield. Hyde has worried me recently but I thought he also had his best game. I think his half at right back against Partick earlier in the season set his development back, but he is hopefully on track now. It will be interesting whether we keep Carson at right back on Saturday with Duffy back or whether he moves into midfield with Welsh. Oh to have Allardice back though. We’ve missed his calm solidity.
  12. Thanks Satan, keeping the pantomime theme going, I seem to be being cast by some in the role of a happy clapper villain, which I definitely am not. I am a realist about the club’s financial position and therefore the (lack of) options at this time. Anyway, I’m bowing out of this thread as I’ve had my say.
  13. I didn’t say that. I was merely pointing out that we have come from behind previously when the odds were against us. As I’ve said several times since full time, the jury is out for me. We will have a better feel for things after the Arbroath game and we then have Queens Park. The attitude of the players was very good yesterday and seeing the Courier piece about Ridgers is another hopeful sign. Time will tell!
  14. Well done to Billy Mckay: star man in the SPFL Team of the Week: https://twitter.com/spfl/status/1610320123595743232
  15. A Cove fan I know who was at the game said beforehand that McIntyre’s future depended on the game and the expectation was that Hartley would be back. Cove were poor, particularly in the second half, but our attitude was excellent. We had much more intent about making chances and trying to take them than I have seen in recent weeks. One game is not enough to judge on though. Saturday is another important one and we can take a better view after it.
  16. When we pipped Dundee to win promotion last time, how far behind were we on 1 January? I respect your views, and those of others on here, but I just can’t see us making a change with the current financial and contractual situation. I will continue to give my support to all the players and, who knows, maybe we have turned a corner.
  17. Harper and Shaw missed the Partick game last Friday too. Devine missed it too but thankfully was fit for today. The club’s report: https://ictfc.com/match-report-reaction-ictfc-6-1-cove-rangers-02-01-2023
  18. In the Prediction League, the Queens Park v Cove game next weekend has been reversed and is being played at Cove.
  19. Welcome back and you did pick the right game. Just promise us you will make our future home games…..
  20. I forgot about Billy’s and am just amazed Austin got one for us given how lightweight he always seemed. I was at the Dumbarton game (but in the pub before and after) so that’s my excuse!
  21. Vigurs at Dunfermline in the League Cup group stages?
  22. What was the nutter we had: something like AaronCoganShogun? Eh what??
  23. The jury is out for me. If we go on a run now we will all be delighted. If we don’t and revert to how we were in recent weeks, that’s a different story. Either way, I can’t see a change coming until the end of the season. And that’s not happy clapping, just realism. I will be continuing to give the players my support and I really liked their attitude today.
  24. Have we turned a corner? We will know in a couple of weeks, but what I took from today was the positive attitude of the players who were really in the mood and clearly wanting it, playing for themselves, each other and for us fans. When Mckay hit the post very early on, it was our first sight of goal and in previous weeks we may have passed rather than having a shot. Ridgers’ complaints at the goal also exemplified the positivity. Cove got three corners in succession and we should have got fouls at the second and third, the goal coming from the third with Devine poleaxed on the ground. I was worried then, but we took control and deservedly got back in it. Two great free kicks from Welsh resulted in goals from Mckay and Devine, then a Cove handball let Mckay make it 3-1 before the break. Then Christmas arrived late with two own goals making it very comfortable. The first came from a positive Mackay run and it may have been going in anyway. The second was a comedy of errors. Mckay then got his hat trick to finish the scoring. We then finished with four youngsters on the park and were still outplaying Cove. As I said, the attitude impressed me most and hopefully that continues on Saturday and beyond. We thoroughly outplayed Cove and have set a standard we must maintain, although it must be said that Cove were very poor, particularly after the break. I’m no happy clapper, but let’s enjoy today and if we can put a run together we can get back in the mix at the top. It is Arbroath next and they turned Dundee over today, so we need to approach next week as we did today. Well done to all 16 who got game time today. I was impressed by Henderson who put a few good crosses in and has decent pace. We also defend much better when Devine plays. He was talking the defence through the whole game. And great to see Mckay get a hat trick.
