Hamilton -V- Inverness CT
here we go again... yes, there was goading! of course there was, but that goading was inside the ground! and it hand been going back and forward the whole game, and likely as a result of the incident that happened last season. i dont think a few wee scuffles after a match quite constitutes the idea that the image of our club is being brought into disrepute! glad to hear that some more senior members of our support actually stuck up for the lads, but this moaning about OUR OWN FANS is getting really quite annoying, when we struggle to bring in fans as it is!

Hamilton -V- Inverness CT
They made us look awful in the first half-I found myself questioning how many players they had! It really looked like they had an extra body on the pitch! when we were on the ball, they closed us down quick and forced errors. When they were in possession they moved it so fast, with accurate one touch passes that carved up our defence. much better in the second half, Richie must've read the riot act! It did look like it wasn't going to be enough though, but what a goal Polly! #hesoneofourown that feeling you get when a last minute equaliser makes it feel like you've won! #comeonthecaleyjags

so i just googled it, in hindsight i really should've done that first! i'm going to hide in the corner... in my defence, pointless though it is, other than on here, i've never seen or heard any reference to HMS Sneck before. And i've only been active on here for 6 months. crawling back under my rock

this is a cracker! clearly we wouldnt have the funds, numbers or inclination to pull off something like this, but even some kind of concerted effort to all be 'singing off the same hymn sheet' with flags or balloons or something? asking the question because i really dont know how 'active' our support would be with something like this? i dont always agree with whats said, but the banners the Green Brigade display normally have a degree of intelligence and thought behind them.

Autumnal Aspirations
I have mentioned a few times about poor attendances and it almost always starts this argument about pre-merger/post merger stuff. I'd rather compare to the likes of Hamilton, Partick, Motherwell, Dundee etc who are smaller clubs who have to compete with others and the ugly sisters for fans. yes i know the central belt is again a different demographic, and we have the issue of geography to contend with as well, but i feel it would be slighlty more beneficial than comparing a top flight club today with a highland league club 30 years ago.... Autumnal Aspirations? Firmly planted in the top six!

Autumnal Aspirations
Eh.....nope. No, we're not. But whatever! No reason why we can't get a good result on Saturday to set us up for hosting Sevco. Onwards and upwards!! #comeonthecaleyjags #prideofthehighlands #caleyaway

the question is, how do we attract more people to the ground? games with higher attendances have a better atmosphere, generally, so the more people that attend, the more enjoyable experience for everyone. it (should) also help to bolster the coiffers, which may open up other opportunities with regards to player budgets, merchandising, advertising streams etc the stadium really doesnt help anything! but, without higher ticket sales and the finances that come with that, then i guess we're stuck with it! except of course should we attract a wealthy investor looking to write off some of his profits for tax purposes!

Yes, I was making that assumption, i assumed attendance figures equated to people, like myself, paying to attend games. I was, i suppose, naive to the intricacies of the manipulation some wee teams may be guilty of. I'm of the opinion that the club are doing well with trying to ingratiate itself into the community; Hot Shots, along with the free U12's is great for the kids; embracing social media (both the club and the players) the fun day events at some of the 'less appealing' matches. It's all good, but it would seem that less people are interested in attending the fitba than in years gone by. People have mentioned the location of the stadium being a problem, but the only way to improve that would be to build 'centrally' and the only place i can think of a suitable size in a more central location would be the Bught....even if the money was there, whats the chances of our incredibly forward thinking Council giving the go ahead for that?! not likely. anywhere else is as far, if not further, from the city centre as the TCS... hopefully, if the lads keep putting on an entertaining show, then maybe, just maybe, more people will PAY to come and watch.... where did the other 13000 happy clappers go....

big sam epitomises the systemic issues that exist in football today: money and greed! #againstmodernfootball

assuming of course that the extra bums on seats are paying customers, then I dont understand? What am I missing? No-ones asking the club to hand out tickets for free to increase attendances, these would be the wrong type of people to have at the game anyway as they would likely add nothing to the atmosphere. surely if our attendances were up towards the 6k average this would not only be beneficial from a ticket revenue stand point, but also would help to increase advertising revenue? attract 'better' players, due to the larger support? i dont know, i'm just guessing. but i would say, i don't THINK it's all about cost...just the football landscape has changed dramatically since the 80's and substantially since our inception in the mid-90s. Priorities for people have changed, and the avid support that existed in the early days have 'aged' into the sweetie rustlers bemoaning our younger fans and our players alike. the one problem that Inverness as a town AND a club is that people don't want to stay here. The youngsters that are finally being brought up as ICT fans are likely to leave the town in their late teens to go to uni and most of them don't come back.

with a partially subsidised cjt bus and, for some, free entry to the match, it would be nice to see a healthy travelling support to get behind the team and show their support. not so much for giving money to other teams, but for showing support to my team.

Above picture fairly contradicts Charles' assurances that only 2-300 would attend the HL games....
