  1. I'm sure the locale of the TCS doesn't help its ability to generate additional income, never mind encourage higher attendances... dont suppose it was a ICTFC fan that won the £35mil....ah well!
  2. Would be interesting to see it at a club level - where do ICTFC compare to Celtic/Manchester Utd/Real Madrid etc...
  3. Fon Williams Horner Meekings Warren Tremarco Tansey Draper Vigurs Polly Roberts Storey my 2p worth...I'm open to ridicule!
  4. Can't agree. See comments in bold.
  5. Heard a potentially interesting 'factoid' on Off The Ball on Saturday eve...Attendances in Scotland are highest per capita in Europe... dont know if this is true, but coming via the bbc I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't! Maybe this is a wee project for Sneckboy? I wonder where ict sit in the grand scheme of things...
  6. And this would still be easier to explain to my wife and daughters than the top 6/bottom 6 split! "Why do they do that?" Well, I've got no feckin clue.....
  7. Was just wondering this myself...st Johnstone?
  8. ^this! We are after-all a 'survival-first' club. So in that respect its a bit hard to judge JH this season because it's still a bit up in the air, but I'd like think we ARE safe... we don't have the finances to sack a manager and it's crazy I think that people on here are suggesting a player who is totally unproven in management! Last seasons highs have definitely left some of us a bit disillusioned! As much as I expect and hope that in a FEW years something similar may happen, but given the nature of the clubs finances are that we will sell on players, it's difficult to hold onto a strong nucleus to allow this to happen year after year. It actually reminds me of the salary cap idea in the NFL! Yogi's going nowhere, well he certainly won't be pushed. Foran won't be our next manger.
  9. Don't understand why Robert's is out of favour, he's shown well since coming back from injury, and does he not have a 1 year extension clause on his current contract? His extended lay-off may also provide a bargaining chip for the club to keep costs down for future contracts? IMO one of our more skilful players....
  10. I wonder if he's moaning about the budget because it has been reduced? Or is not what he was advised it would be when HE signed his contract? Or maybe he's wondering where Ryans half-a-mil went.....
  11. Survival is key. best way to do that obviously is by sneaking into top 6, but I think we've left ourselves too much to do. Again. Win against Dundee Utd, Hearts game insignificant. Beat Killie and Hamilton post split and we're all good. Killie automatic relegation, Hamilton/Utd in playoffs.....
  12. Are you able to use tickets from last nights game for the replay? Or do you have to get them exchanged.
  13. Sadly couldn't make it to the match due to an unfortunate incident on Friday and the hospital wouldn't let me out to attend the game.. needless to say it's harder to post with only 9 fingers... from what I saw on Beeb highlights and heard on here and tw@tter it seems like the same old same old. And irony that we were chasing the 3 points and actually came away with nothing! Definitely frustrating! Looking at some of the other posts on here - we shouldn't expect the highs of last season every year, and whilst is is unlikely, we are doing ourselves a dis-service to say that it's a one-off! Clearly, survival and a decent cup run is the target for the team, and we have more or less achieved that this year, some more positive thinkin from fans, board, manager and players alike wouldn't go wrong! It's been an open league this year and really, a few points here or there could have cemented us in top six, looking towards top 3 again. And without European football next season, our budget may creap up a wee bit again.... perhaps the Youth Team decided to stay away after the widespread and completely unnecessary derision they got from some of the 'older' eejits on here who slagged them off for their excellent performance in Dingwall. in a way, happy that tonight's game is postponed...a week to prepare for the more important Dundee Utd game might prove to be important, and I might be able to clap again by the time the replay comes around.....
  14. I like Hughes. Didn't think he had much of a chance to do anything in the other games as there was nobody anywhere near him for him to knock the ball down to etc. And would like to see a bit more game time from Roberts...I wonder if he's still not fully fit?? Him and Mutumbo may be good value one year extensions? Their down time may keep them cheap enough....
  15. So he hasn't been shocking since his first appearance at St J? He's been entirely ineffective. Against Ross Co, however, where a more direct, less tika-taka approach was adopted by the team he had a standout performance!
  16. Can't remember where I saw it now, but I did read that Polly was gutted that Williams and Vincent were leaving.....lets hope this doesn't affect his decision to sign what he's been offered.
  17. I saw ONE seat back no longer in its correct place....don't think that's gonna break the bank if County were to invoice ICTFC..... and who knows, this could of been as a result of the stewards climbing over seats to remove one of the lads that were singing......
  18. Shhhhh....don't mention the merger.....
  19. Ironic that one of Hughes signings, Hughes, actually plays better when the team isn't playing J.Hughes style of football....
  20. Understand that we are a selling club, and don't really know or fully understand the ins and outs (no pun intended) of it all, but surely tieing players up with longer term contracts means that when others come a-fishing, we actually get decent value for them and not just have them walk out the door for no reward.....
  21. And another thing, why would both clubs encourage the building of an atmosphere by creating said 'singing section'. Did they not realise that this would encourage the hoodlums to all be in the same area....yes they did! But that's what they wanted!
  22. Starting on stewards- is that the same stewards who antagonised the situation by their over zealous heavy handed approach? The stewards behaviour was, I would suggest, like a red rag to a bull. Shouting at police - the same police that were hurriedly called to the section by the stewards who were fearing for their lives because some people were jumping and singing oh the humanity! The police that were then video-recording said singing and jumping. I'm sure they were politely asked to turn off their cameras........ A small pitch invasion....are you having a laugh!!!! One guy jumps over the barrier to celebrate a goal and it's a pitch invasion.....behave herself mun! and I agree, there is no place for foul mouthed hate filled chanting at a derby match......because that doesn't happen at a Dundee Derby or the old firm or Manchester or any London derby.....nope just those unacceptable ict fans..... and I witnessed a lot of pro ict songs. More than I ever did whilst sitting in the main stand at TCS, now....if this is what you want from football then you crack on. in fact, the 'support' that I have witnessed while sitting in the main stand at TCS is far more derogatory to the club than anything that happened through in Dingwall. Sitting in silence, only breaking that silence to deride every single pass and decision by every player and the management, whilst simultaneously tutting that the opposition never make a mistake and are just perfect.....the players hear it and pick up on it! the atmosphere on Saturday was described as fantastic and electric by the Beeb....this was of course as a result of the tremendous support of the two teams by everyone in the ground, except for those in section d.......because they were just childish hooligans! FANS NOT CRIMINALS
