SA reminded me a lot of ICT....they kept giving to ball away and lacked ideas in the final third.

I'm with you there DD. Ever since it was announced that Russia would host the 2018 World Cup I had serious doubts. Russian supporters have a serious racism issue and their hooligans, I understand, are trained to 'military standards in hand to hand combat'. There will be serious trouble despite assurances from the authorities. As for the football itself I can not get excited one bit. As DD says, Southgate has breathed some fresh life into England but I really don't think they're good enough to go beyond the 1/4 finals if they even get that far. I'm also disappointed that none of the other home countries qualified as this added a lot more interest and cheering them on added to that.

I remember many seasons ago we played a friendly away to Deveronvale. I think we were 9-0 to the good when 'Vale scored. Reaction to that from an ICT fan was "Well, if you're going to make a game of it I'm going home". Was rather funny that. ICT won 10-1.

It's been incredible in the NPL for me this season since Week 9. As for the other competitions (NAPS and PL) I came nowhere near to doing a double or even the treble .

The NPL has certainly lost members over the years. Looking back through the archives the 2003/04 season saw 87 members have a go. Looking at some the names on that list a few of them are still regular contributors to the forum(s). Back than it wasn't as easy to post your prediction as no mobile device could cope . Maybe folk are too much in to social media these days rather than CTO. On the plus side, it makes my job easier . I've tried to attract more punters to the PL as I think this is the easier of the competitions to play if you have a busy social life as you don't have to 'research' away team players or crowd figures. At least those that do take the time to play these games enjoy it so that will do for me.

Cheers Canary. I thought I'd peaked too early by going top at Week 9 but this wasn't the case. DoofersDad but up a good late fight to retain the title and probably would have done so if Caley had made the play-offs. The Speadsheet (like my ageing brain) is worn out now after being worked into a sweat twice a week throughout April I will savour the bragging rights at Gringo Towers.

NPL Review for Game 43 Fantastic win and end to the season. Such a shame the damage was already done. Nice to finish on a high though. I just hope we can hang on to most of these lads for 2018/19. EyeSeeTea grabbed maximum points in the Correct Score section. CDN Girl managed the Crowd Section bonus – just 6 under. Gringo managed to hold out under pressure from Champion DoofersDad to take the 2017/18 NPL Title. My thanks to all those that have taken time to play the NPL this season. It’s just a shame we didn’t make the play offs to extend the excitement. I’m sure DoofersDad is the most disappointed in that fact as I’m sure he would have pipped me to the post after putting a fine run together.
