Looks like this season will be hard fought in the bottom half now. So few points separating the bottom positions that any gains can be wiped out in only one or two results. Going by last nights game, those teams are probably at least a whole season ahead of us in terms of squad development, perhaps more. DF has a tricky path to negotiate in the transfer window(s). Add some quality, probably short term / loans, install a foundation for the way we want to play so we can look at long term recruitment in key areas and finally begin to remove the dead wood from the squad - we're carrying much more weight than we need, that has been obvious of late. 3 big games between now and next Sunday , how many of the 9 points can we get? I think we need at least 6.
