  1. We have managed to get ourselves into a strong position ahead of Friday's game, with a bit more football played on a much better pitch we should have enough to finish them off. A strong start and calm heads required, they will come at us hard, dont give them anything to get excited about...we should be able to pick them off and win the tie by a couple of goals at least.
  2. Has the grass returned to firhill yet or are the rugby studs required for tonight?
  3. Our appearance in the playoffs last time had massive importance as well, although we only cleared the first hurdle at that attempt. Of course it was and still is a significant challenge, but I think the enormity of all the matches we could play should be tempered with the old football adage - one game at a time. If we think too far down the line then that may be our undoing, each match is a final until there are none left. We must approach them that way.
  4. Not seen Hamilton defend that poor all season. Wish they had been that bad on the previous three occasions we played them.
  5. 4-0 and cruising, but we still need a right back.
  6. McGregor pulling the strings.
  7. After tomorrow's game all the talk of resting or rotating becomes irrelevant as the fixtures are coming thick and fast, the competitiveness of the play offs will likely result in a few more cards and the odd injury or strain as well. Best we can do is hope for the best and the players can do what they are paid to.
  8. Friday.
  9. The only significant difference we could have made would have been to turn up for the third round of fixtures. I'm sure there was the odd point or ten we could have picked up.
  10. I suspect he consumed a fair few McDonalds when he was with us then (other crap food also available).
  11. I was wondering how I could best define irony...
  12. As long as Carson isn't starting at full back, everything he gives us going forward is nullified when he gets posted missing on regular occasions in defence. Last night's starting eleven was a good solid formation from which to build quickly from the breakdown which we did several times, only a few loose passes from defence spoiled it. I'm not sure the substitutions would have been made with whom and when if we hadn't gifted Kilmarnock the lead.
  13. Detail on the embroidered one is pretty sketchy compared to the clean well defined lines on the stick on one. Re the errea scotrail top the border may be a few mil narrower but if it wasn't on a white background you would have the same issues/complaints.
  14. Even though the wings weren't full. Probably a fair number of OF followers and neutrals too. And if they kept their fingers out of sight I suppose a few from over the bridge might have sneaked in.
  15. But we'll happily take their cash when they come to fill our stadium.
  16. Aren't these games both Friday night's on BBC? Not great for a big attendance but may tempt a few extra killie fans up the road for a final visit. Probably worth discounting ticket prices to get a few extra punters in.
  17. Didn't have much to do in 1st half but made some crucial stops after we went ahead and dunfermline capitalised on a brief period of pressure. Credit also to the numerous blue & red shirts that were blocking shots in & around our box for a fraught 10 minute spell.
  18. Team performance, lots of mini battles to be won all over the pitch, which we just about did. Coll Donaldson - heads gone.
  19. Most controlled performance I've seen from them in months, don't waste the hard work with any second half mistakes. Just need to work the keeper with our chances.
  20. Different centre back pairing this week, Duffy starting.
  21. Good or bad , put it on a successful team and it will certainly shift more units.
  22. They have the name right at least.
  23. Honestly didn't see that win coming, despite the promising start and long spells of first half possession- who knew Chalmers could be so deadly twice from nearly the same spot on the pitch! Credit to Raith for blowing it big style - kicked off by the straight red for Bene( commentators seethe now). Persisistent time wasting came back to bite them, and with Dodds throwing subs on like confetti it seemed to further confuse Raith who, like their mates doing the commentary were marvelling at how the Caledonian Thistle ( hi Sergei!) players were always changing position on the pitch, it was hard to tell who was playing where , which if you'd been privy to most of our games this year it's a natural effect of not having much of a plan or formation. Fluid, I think they described it as. A lot of flak directed at the ref, but even with replays the poor quality of stream combined with camera angles and sun made it hard to definitely argue with a lot of them. Certainly worth waiting for the last 5 minutes or so, for the late winner and another red card into the bargain. Oh, the hopes are rising already.
