Now that the financial situation has been laid out for all to see, I still dont get it. Is there an expectation that someone will absorb the debt………Still a lot of money,.then take on a loss making club even after cuts have been made! Who would want to do that ??? We live in hope I suppose!

I agree, still losing money after the cuts is very worrying. Did they not cut hard enough? Is remaining full time in a predominantly part time league justified? Having the stadium staff in every day is still costing the same as it ever did. Put on top of that the costs of BDO, then finances remain critical !!!!! Thank goodness for AS!!!!

Smokies @ home Dec2024
Not a great performance from either team today, the difference was Arbroath took their limited chances against our 10 men. Not enough of our players looked at it today, a bit lacklustre in some areas and we paid the price. I thought we looked tired and slow compared to Arbroath, so not sure what’s up. At least Dumbarton got beat too!!

It’s not the Trust,s Bar. The recently named Bar 94 is the Clubs…….. whether you are a member of the Trust or not. It is currently staffed by Trust volunteers, who are doing a decent job at revitalising the space.

I have my letter now too. I’m not sure it actually tells me that much. As a very small shareholder, can my small amount be sold to any potential new buyer without my consent???? I wouldn’t necessarily object, but I need some clarity!

8-8-8 formula
There are 25 players still in the team and two of them are out on loan at highland league clubs.

Agree with your points above. The entire board are culpable for the Morrison - Gardiner running of the club without transparency or accountability. Who appointed the remainder to their board position? What’s the point of the board if they are not going to conduct their oversight and guidance to the running and particularly the financial discipline of the club. I hope they all go and AS brings in some competent individuals!

I agree the SLO shouldn’t be a board member or interim Chairman, yes he did step into the role advised I understand by Scot Gardiner who could control the reply/ response from the club. He should relinquish the role of SLO while he remains in his current position, or vice versa.

He ( like others) remained silent during the summer when players and staff were being treated so badly. Not much honour in that.

Fair enough with Scot Young, he does seem to care about the Club. I would standby the statement that he is out of his depth in a football Club sense. In the year or so he has been in his various positions, with his fresh eyes he had the perfect opportunity to raise any issues with the CEO or other board members. I understand he hasn’t put any money into the club as other directors have, it now seems he is calling the shots in terms of admin etc. Is he really the best person to be taking the club forward. Nice guy, but SLO at most.

The current Chairman and what’s left of the current board are part of the problem. They may be nice enough people, but they are absolutely out of their depth in terms oor running a football club. That’s why the former CEO could go about unchecked.

They only train a few hours a day, no where near 40 hours a week. They start late and finish early in the day.

Including playoffs he had over 30 games to just keep us up…….. he didn’t.

Do you remember relegation from the Championship?

Exactly….. they wouldn’t be made redundant, they would just utilise their coaching skills within thier existing salary or a renegotiated one. No need to fire or hire ?!

More likely Scott Kellagher and the coaches from the academy is what the administrators will say can be afforded. Tough Times! Does admin mean you are not allowed to hire / sign anyone else until you are clear of administration?

Didn’t manage to get to this match, but it sounded like decent performance from those who were there. We took the lead which is something we are not in the habit of doing recently and seemed more up for it than in recent weeks. I did see DF,s post match interview, positive in support of the players, but seems to be resigned to not being able to stay in L1 if admin happens. Surely that’s the very point at which expectations are reduced and it’s a great opportunity to galvanise the team and supporters for the battle of our lives! Not sensing much fighting spirit from him. Maybe he knows he’s off whether it’s his decision or others!

Don’t really care what your point is. I will lay blame at all those who over a number of years continued to spend money the club didn’t have. Why have an accountant? CEO, board etc, if they are not going to carry out their jobs professionally and seriously annd in the best financial interests of the club. All in my opinion are culpable!
-
Admin by Oct 16th - It's here now!
I know for a fact the club has an accountant. I know for a fact that an additional accountant was brought in from Orion Group to assist this person. I accept that challenges may have been made to the previous CEO or that person didnt feel able to do so. The original accountant and the one from Orion have an office in the club.

There is a Club accountant who must have had to process all the outgoing payments. Surely the accountant should have raised the alarm to the board if one person was spending more money than was in the accounts. As guilty as the rest of them for not challenging the CEO over years!!!!!

Perhaps trying to justify his position.

I’m sure he has been trying…… he is just not very good at getting anything out of this group of players ☹️.

I think it’s the date by which HMRC and wages have to be submitted for processing and payment.

Not all local suppliers have been paid off. I know of one local company ( who I won’t name), who didn’t want ( couldn’t afford), to turn their debt owed by the club into equity/ shares as Alan Savage wanted. I don’t think it is the only one. This is why Alan thought he might be able to clear the debt, but has now realised this is not the case. Perhaps a question to ask at the meeting tomorrow and to understand fully what the crowd funding money is going to be used for. Paying off debt and or paying wages & running costs. Of course bringing in the administrators isn’t cheap either as their daily fees are steep.
