Not far off
What we proved this season was that we weren't good enough to be promoted. It tells us nothing about how prepared we may, or may not, be for next season.

Bring in the Crowds
FOMO is why more people turn up to what we might describe as bigger or more important games. If it all goes well, everyone wants to say "I was there". It has always, and will always, be thus and is an entirely different issue as to why people don't come along every other week. Football is a tough sport to follow. Financially, it's tough and I can feed myself for a week on what it costs for an adult ticket, even in the championship. Logistically, it's tough as there's little routine. Games often get shifted to different days or different times and even if all matches were a 3pm on a Saturday, there's very little routine in terms of one home, one away. We're spoiled with parking facilities, or should be, but the moment someone offers a few sheckles to rent the car parks we're ousted. Even when we're not ousted, the running of the car parks is a shambles and adds to the hassles. Public transport isn't a realistic option as it's expensive and unreliable. Each of these things on their own might not be a big deal, but when you start adding them together, people just can't be bothered with it. It's not just an ICT issue, it happens all over the country.

Inverness CT -V- St Johnstone - Premiership Play-Off
It's only seen as frightening and uncomfortable because that's the image we portray of them in the media and via fuddy duddies on forums. Create the space to allow it in a manner which poses no risk to others and let them get on with it; after all, it's not like our stadiums are so rammed we can't accommodate it. I think it was Scotty I've seen talking about his happening in Canada? If we could also have mixed family areas, that would be great. Stop telling each new generation they are animals that can't be trusted to sit next to opposition fans. People aren't born to misbehave, but if we keep telling them that it's what is expected, they will soon conform. Let's put wheels in motion on all sides to put an end to that in football and enjoy mixed crowds like we see in so many other sports around the world.

Inverness CT -V- St Johnstone - Premiership Play-Off
I successfully appealed a ticket for parking on the verge opposite the stadium a few years ago. Parking on verges can only be made a motoring offence by way of local bylaws and if they don't exist (and they didn't), then so long as all your wheels are off the road, then you're not on the double yellow lines. They tried to argue that I had caused damage to the verge, but that is not a motoring offence and would need to have been brought as a separate damages claim. Given the state of the verges there and the fact they are not maintained, that would have been hard for them to prove and it wasn't something they pursued. I wouldn't park there again as it's not worth the time and hassle to fight it, but unless the local bylaws have changed, then people might want to question the validity of any tickets the might have had recently.

Inverness CT -V- St Johnstone - Premiership Play-Off
If only we'd had a bit more time between the matches then everyone would have forgotten about the performance and been encouraged to attend based solely on their memory of the result.

Gordy is a lovely guy, but he's a total dinosaur and (as with our CEO) a dyed in the wool blue nose. It's not surprising our comms have got so cringeworthy and our social media so bland and generic.

Credit where it's due. At least they stopped short of signing off the statement with "We Are The People!!".

The Run In
There seems to be this delusional misconception among a lot of our support that we somehow reached the play offs and the play off finals by playing great football and showing some kind of gritty character. The truth is that we finished 3rd in the poorest Championship we've seen in a long time, with a points total that would have struggled to find 5th place in previous seasons. I celebrated our wins as much as anyone else and I'll be over the moon if we stick it to St Johnstone, but let's not kid ourselves that this squad or the manager is anything special.

Anyone who thinks that removing the cost is somehow removing the barrier to entry is very much mistaken in my view. It's more likely that it builds the expectation that it's a product which should carry no cost for the consumer. Anyone who wouldn't pay a few pounds to watch is not a supporter and never will be, no matter how many times they get to go for free. The club have charged and/or asked for donations to junior games in the past. Why do they think these games are worth more than women's games? #UnconsciousBias

It's a shame that the club don't value women's football enough to charge an entry fee.

Unless it's to tell us he's resigning, Dodds needs to STFU. Nobody gives a flying fig how well training is going, we don't win matches on the training ground. As for the assertion that the fans haven't been doing their part? Embarrassing ramblings from a man who still be out of his depth even if he was more than 4 feet tall. A Chairman who openly admitted he knows nothing about running a club, with a CEO who got the dunt for forgetting to order seats for a new stand in his last job, appointments a sporting director because it was a nice thing to do, who gives the managers job to his matchday commentary buddy and then brings in the village shopkeeper to assist. It's hard to see where it all went wrong 🤔

Scot Gardiner and backroom staff - Is a big clear out required? Issue is obviously way bigger than just Dodds...
So what you're suggesting is that after getting off to a flying start, the board and/or CEO pulled the team aside and told them to stop winning as we didn't want to risk promotion. The entire playing squad and staff then went, "aye, ok, we don't mind comprising our own integrity or damaging our chances at playing/working at a higher level and earning more, so we'll just lie down for the rest of the season"?
