  1. I've just heard Inverness Caledonian and Inverness Thistle are merging and renaming themselves Airdrie United You couldn't make it up!
  2. I would imagine the people there at the beginning, like myself, were just excited by the prospect of a Scottish League team. I thought we'd be more of a Stirling Albion side, rather than matching Hibs and Hearts. I like Charlie's vision of a n 8-8-8 (see video) club. Getting Strachan in at full-back and seeing him progressing is more interest to me than parachuting in 'someone from Luton', even if it does take a few years.
  3. I've been a trustee before. I didn't get involved in the financial side. I'd have briefings but my main interest was of a technical nature for the sector we were involved in. I would imagine directors would be similar. Bennett was probably there for his footballing specialism, rather than finance. You may think he did a bad job there but I doubt it's a case of everyone being knowledgeable about finance. That's why there are multiple directors.
  4. Thought Charlie did pretty well in the hotseat. I guess the advantage we can offer ex-players in the HL is progression. How much notice do you get for making Nairn a force in the top six of the HL against getting ICT promoted from the bottom rung. I also suspect more people, like me, are more willing to shell out after admin. I was waiting to hear any rumours from AS but no need. They're publicly stated.
  5. Why on Earth do people see his posts when there is a block function. It's patently obvious he's not an ICT fan, so why bother? He's such an obvious troll.
  6. I wonder how much our rivals, like Stemhousemuir and Montrose, spend on their merchandise? Given their higher in the league, have a Championship level of striker and don't have a young team (very young), probably more, I would imagine.
  7. I'd really like to know AS's true views. Is he coming in to buy the club going into administration? Then I'd be happy with that, never mind the points deduction. I'd be far happier to put in money to re-start the club, rather than paying off rich men who mismanaged the club to a ludicrous extent. Or is that not part of AS's plan? Will we instead be going down the route of Clydebank. And I totally understand why AS cannot say
  8. I'd be happy to give money to restart the club after the restructuring, points deduction etc. Not so sure if it's to pay off debts that the Board bear a lot of responsibility for. Can we set up something so the administrators see there's a bank of money waiting to be invested but not wasted?
  9. Good to keep a clean sheet. The players aren't used to playing on grass, so they did well to hold off Stenny. Our groundskeeper must take a lot of the blame. Last week a change to the ref, this week no change. It upsets the balance of the team. Come on officials! Let's have some consistency! We do also have a very young team. Very very young. Meanwhile, Stenny's squad is all seasoned professionals with no young players and great strikers. So we have to give credit where it's due. Over all, Duncan has to be congratulated for being just outside the play-offs. We don't score much but, boy, look at how well we can park the bus! And that's what football is all about.
  10. I always played defence or midfield (wing when I was younger). Awful in front of goal though. I reckon I'd get a call up before you then.
  11. I would imagine he's first team coach. Probably doing loads of stuff behind the scenes, hence why manager after manager has kept him on. Unless there's some evidence to the contrary, it's a bit much to ask to sack someone for not explaining his behind the scenes job. Having the assistant manager as the only coach, along with other assistant duties, is hardly the mark of a full-time professional club. Nothing unusual in having a coach, even at League One. Even at League Two!
  12. Good assessment. That referee substitution really made the difference. Well done for stating that Dunc. Others would have come up with some ludicrous excuse.
  13. A good result to continue taking us clear of Cove. Kelty are above us but then, their training pitch is out of this world. Wish we had that option. Montrose and Stenny in the play-offs but then, we have a very young subs bench. Also, the players will be tired training full-time, whilst the other teams will be refreshed by only being part-time. But it's not Dunc's fault. We just don't have the leading strikers that the likes of Montrose turn out year-upon-year.
  14. There is. It's us!
  15. Stemhousemuir are above us in the table. Then again, we've got a very young team. Very young. Most of them don't play mind you, including some of the better ones. Still, Stenny have got it easy with their part-time team.
  16. BBC have listed the manager as Gary Bolan.
  17. If only we could get a couple more defenders then we might, just might, be able to avoid relegation, like last year. I'm so glad we're giving Dunc a second chance to prove negative football is the way forward for full-time teams in part-time leagues.
  18. If DF is still here in a couple of years time, I presume that's because he is successful. I'll be delighted that's the case. I've nothing against him. I don't care who he played for. I wish him success. That said, I can't see it. His tactical mindset needs to utterly change and his appalling track record with ICT and Forest Green be merely a blip. As I said, I cannot see it happening but let's vainly hope.
  19. AF took on Moyes, who spent next to no money and finished 7th. Van Gaal took over. Spent a fortune and finished 5th. Failure to support Moyes, rather than failure of Moyes, IMO. Give him a transfer budget and a season, it would have been different.
  20. Just a future will do, bright or not. That's already more than I had expected a week ago.
  21. Everywhere I went in Africa, people were wearing Barcelona shirts they got for free (they proudly displayed their UNESCO logo). Maybe we couldn't flood the market like that but possibly target a city in Africa or Asia to give them away in the hope of setting up an enclave that could be used with a partner / feeder club?
  22. Hanlon's Razor "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity"
  23. You just said it. To give many people the impression that he was involved in removing/repelling Savage from office. More talk. No action.
  24. Appointed and resigned on the same day according to Companies House. I think that may be me done if Ketan takes over and SG returns. At least until it's all over, whatever that may mean.
  25. We tried that last year. Dunc signed a load of defenders no better than what we had. The only one I liked was Kerr, who he proceeded to play as a central midfielder. Other players out of position and not creating chances due to possession football deep in our own half. The standard of players are only secondary when you have tactics doomed to fail. Every game, we play for a draw. It's boring and a poor use of players. Duncan the player would be ripping the manager's door off in an earlier time.
