  1. Maybe not Storey, but I'd have Fisher back in a heartbeat! Not in any way likely, though... We aren't too bad up front...can see an Austin/Oakley front 2 being productive next season..add in a bit more game time for Daniel Mackay as well...
  2. He'd be worth a shout - he may feel he has something to prove. With the caveat that ONLY if we can sign him within budget,of course. Same goes for Bannigan & Lawless too....although neither may fancy a move up North
  3. Very harsh indeed! We won't do ourselves any favours attracting players to the club if we treat a long serving player (& captain) with a "don't let the door hit you on the way out" attitude.....
  4. Robbo is the exception....or maybe not....maybe he's just meant to be here!
  5. It's a good point - probably the classic example is HisRoyalWyness, who didn't exactly set the heather on fire at Hearts, but remains a legend for ICT...
  6. It depends on how this was put to Gary...if it was a "look, if you can find another club that suits you, we won't look for a fee & will release you", then that is fine. If, on the other hand it was "Gary, you're preventing us from strengthening our squad & the sooner you go, the better - we want you out", then that isn't.. I hope it was the former & not the latter!
  7. On the coaching side, has anyone 'in the know' any infornation on who will be Robbo's assistant next season? I understand that Brian Rice's contract is up, although I could be wrong...
  8. That's my thoughts too...I certainly wouldn't chase Miles Storey, but if he was willing to fit into the current wage structure, why not? As DoofersDad rightly said, he's done nothing since he left to justify us chasing him...but maybe a move back here might be good for him to recapture his form. He was decent, in spells, for us. I'd rather have an Austin/Oakley strike partnership, to be honest..not so sure about Connor Bell, though...last I read was that he would get another deal if more cash was freed up (obviously tied in with the Gary Warren situation). Storey or Bell...now, there's something to ponder......!
  9. I'm more interested in Gareth Bale saying he may move for regular 1st team football....he might just about cut it as a replacement for Vigurs....?
  10. Personally, I'd rather have Nathan Austin over Storey..which, luckily, we do!
  11. You have to wonder if Gary was offered the chance to stay on a restructured contract (which he would have been under no obligation to agree to)? Very sad - Warren may be getting on a bit, but it's a shoddy way to treat our Captain, who has given us years of sterling service!
  12. Very reminiscent of when we let Munro & Tokeley go...ironically, Warren was one of the players who they made way for.... Brutal reality of football, I suppose....
  13. Probably! Not sure I'd rate Storey over Nathan Austin, mind you. If we're going for a blend of Youth, with a bit of experience, that's fine by me. Have to say that I agree with you about Gary Warren - even if he is past his best, he deserves better treatment than that! How long did he have left on his contract anyway?
  14. There is a part of me that agrees with this - I've thought that Mckay/Donaldson was our best central defensive pairing last season. BUT still a very harsh way to treat our captain & an ICT legend...I saw Gary Warren staying & perhaps moving into a coaching role...not to be, it seems. I really feel for Warren...he may be getting on a bit & not be quite the player he was, but I've always thought that he was a great captain who leads by example - someone who would run through a brick wall for the jersey. End of an era, if true.
  15. What a great thing to do...hats off to you, Sir! I'll make a contribution just now..
  16. Our black away top from season 08/09 with the red trim is my favourite yet (particularly the one with the fans names on it)...still have 1 of each of these! Happy enough with gold trim though...quite classy, imho!
  17. Definetly...agree 100%! If I'm been fussy, I'd have liked a red sleeve on the blue section of the home top (to match the other side) & wouldn't have minded kerping stripes too - that's nitpicking, though... Away top is a gem...will be getting that asap! Probably a home top at some point too.
  18. Hardly - red, white & blue? Looked like a cheap copy of a Rangers top...& that daft collar! If it had had black instead of white, it would have been better.
  19. Best of wishes in your new post, Yvonne - it's actually good to see progress being made behind the scenes to make the club more 'professional' in it's running...vital if we are ever to entertain any notion of being a Premier league club again..
  20. I would say he is maybe being sensible, rather than lacking ambition - he may have a decent job/career outside football, that he can work in for another 20+ years, rather than take a punt at full time football & risk having no income in a year or 2. And, as others have mentioned, there's the moving kids from school, selling/renting a house, etc. It's a major decision for him! Different if he was younger & single, perhaps, but Kyle Hutton has to do what's best for him & his family...I don't have a problem with that.
  21. I think so too..but a 110% improvement on last season's home top, which I couldn't even bring myself to buy when it was reduced! It looked like a top frae Govan.....
  22. Me too...Red, White & Blue is NOT a good combination of colours!!!
  23. The home top is better than last season's effort, imho....at least this one doesn't have white, or a silly collar. Do love the away one, though - that's the one for me...although may buy a home one later on...
  24. What do you expect...your Caley top must be at least 25 years old....lol
