Australian Open

Getting down to the business end again and the same old question arises, can Andy Murray win a grand slam?

He is cruising so far, but the big guns are waiting. Straight set wins into the quarter finals and a match against an unseeded, but nonetheless dangerous oponent. Probably Nadal waiting for him at the semi-stage and more than likely Federer waiting for the winners in the final, with Djokovic also looking sharp. With Soderling falling to Dolgopolov, that's one big danger gone. All in all, the Aussie Open is shaping up nicely.

Can Murray do it? Big ask I think, beating one legendary player is difficult, beating both of them in the same slam is almost impossible.

Good luck Andy.

Frustrating, but he just doesn't seem able to close out the crucial shots, the amount of unnecessary errors when easy winners were on was disappointing, still, onwards and upwards, hopefully if he keeps knocking........

Another very disappointing result for Andy. Hope he's not destined to be always the bridesmaid and never the bride in terms of Grand Slams.

Andy needs to learn to be ruthless and produce that killer touch. Failing that....hes not going to progress to the next level. Im no expert, but to me....sometimes, his shot slelections are very generous to his opposition!

He shat himsel. He had weak wrists and didn't have the nerve to play any risky shots, or play any controlled shots just over the net. Instead, time and time again, he just hit it back Novak, or into the net. Didn't even look like dominating his own serve once. Still a good player though, just not a great one.

I believe it's his mental approach that needs addressing. He was dominated by a powerful player who has never played better. His attitude stinks at the moment, but when he get's it right, he can and will compete with the best. Once again, his body language gave him away, petulance at it's best.

Totally agree with Mr Smee, his shot selection at times was pitiful and he made it easier for Djokokic to return, although some of his returns were unbelievable.

Well played Djok, back to the drawing board Andy Pandy.
