Billy Mackay got about 20 minutes on the pitch tonight, to add an embarassing 2-0 defeat to Azerbaijan to the recent embarassing defeat to Luxembourg. And yet they recently beat Russia. They make Scotland look consistent.

Iceland have a chance there, Croatia look nothing special these days.

 

But if they don't make it, how about a North Atlantic Cup next summer  - Scotland, Iceland, Faroes and Greenland. I reckon we'd have a decent chance of making the final.

 

Have been saying this for years on this forum, that they need to set up a North Atlantic Group for the World Cup.  Need to get Greenland into FIFA first.

 

I reckon if they made the top two in the group qualifiers, then Scotland would have a real chance of qualifying for the World Cup and European Championships in the future.  Mind you I can see us struggling at times against Iceland and the Faroes.
