Manger or Team ... of the Month ?

When picking up the award for February's 'Manager of the Month', Motherwell manager Maurice Malpas said

"It's an old cliche that the manager doesn't do anything apart from pick the team to go on the park. It's the players that do everything on the pitch so it is really their award. As opposed to it being manager of the month, I would prefer it was team of the month"

What do you think ....... ?

Personally, I think its the manager that carries the can if they do badly, so maybe he deserves the plaudits when they do well

Maurice Malpas thinks the Manager of the Month award should instead be Team of Month ... what do you think ? 24 members have voted

Roy Keane was on about these mid-season awards recently - basically said they were a nonsense. Tend to agree that the team should get credit for their efforts and not the manager so much. Maybe's there should be a 'worst' manager of the month contest.. :015:

At the end of the day, the only award that counts is the one that wins the league (or cup).
