  1. British Legion? What's wrong with the Red Cross?
  2. Yes France were a well-oiled machine tonight. I thought England brought nothing to the tournament. There's teams that you look forward to watching then there's the rest, like Switzerland, Australia, Croatia, USA, Iran, Sweden etc. England were no better than any of them and were very lucky with the draw to get to the last 8.
  3. Feckin spoiled brats need their erse kicked. Get outside and play hide and seek or hopscotch or something.
  4. Enjoying a Lewis sabbath. Unlike my first WCF there in 1978, at least I'll get peace to watch it. Back then, the in-laws were in church, and the soon to be Mrs Mantis made me switch it off or they would feel the telly hot when they got back :015: :015: :015: :015:
  5. You're blind as feck yourself Beastie. Accusing me of being negative :moon05:
  6. Feckin BBC or EBC. Henman gets about 3 mins on the 'national' news on Tuesday. Including interview. Murray gets about 5 secs, including one stroke of his match where you can see that he's leading 1-0 by the scoreboard. Not even a mention of the latest score (he must have just about won the first set by that time). And Murray is rated higher than Our Tim, so what gives?
  7. Did these £ivi feckers really last 5 seasons in the SPL? Ah well, feck the feckers, they're feckin well down with the feckin County now, the feckin feckers.
  8. Hey! What have I done? Anyway under Wattie Smith I think we're on the way up and we'd probably have done as well as *ngl*nd have done at the WC. At least we would have shown a bit of passion.
  9. Aye, Barry's Paw (and maw) have sat amongst us many times at away games and always happy to pass the time of day. At the Motherwell 1-0 cup tie Bobby nearly had the hand shaken off him after Barry's goal. I remember the 1973 League Cup Final well. Wasn't it during the 3-day week when the lights were at half power? The Tims lost that final 4 years in a row, even under Jock Stein.
  10. I think they'll get through to the semi due to a deflected free kick from Beckham. Then in the semi, the Brazil team bus will be in a crash and they'll have to play their 50 year old coaching staff, who play Engerland off the park but lose to a deflected free kick from Beckham. On the morning of the final, the Berlin Wall is rebuilt. The German team is stranded in the East and England start the game without them. The game is goalless up till stoppage time when Beckham scores from a deflected free kick.
  11. I work in a school. Kids are nasty little buggers! Anybody who's different gets bullied. A lot of work has gone into educating kids about this and there are signs that it is paying off. It's terrible that anybody's kids get bullied on account of their accent but to imply that we, the Scots, are worse than others is just wrong. How about the BBC relocates to Edinburgh (OK, maybe not, but how about Carlisle or Newcastle). Then maybe some of us will start to believe in this 'Britishness' thing, instead of being excluded and feeling like foreigners in our own country. Just for a start, instead of forever saying 'the North-East' in the weather forecast they could say 'the bit just over half-way up the east coast' :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015:
  12. Mott the Hoople rocks :clapping04: The young at heart take over the board :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015:
  13. Aye but you still have to arrange the Russian linesman and get the games played at Wembley Yompa :015: :015: :015: :015: Anyway Hurst's getting on a bit nowadays :001:
  14. Not as good as Bazza v Motherwell though :001:
  15. 'County' and 'Top' in the same sentence :015: :015: :015: :015:
  16. Right as always Charles. I'm supposed to have a link to a movie of that Smart goal but I need to update a few links after moving servers.

    hoolahan

Remember that bit in M.A.S.H. with hoolahan in the shower.
  18. Hang on now Mee, you're showing evidence of having read the 'drivel' on the thread. That means you have an unfair advantage on some folk :015: :015: :015: :015:
  19. Pink Floyd. Ya feckin auld hippy.
  20. I remember Caley beating Golspie 15-0 in the QC around then.
  21. Well obviously Richard, I'm far younger than you. I used to pass Caley Park at 6am on my way to Lewis in the good old days before the Kessock bridge, but sadly the good old Caley had only a few years to go when I finally got around to it.
  22. The 4-0 against Lewis/Harris 'B' was at Fivepenny (Ness FC), Lewis. The 7-1 against Lewis/Harris 'A' was at Goathill Park, Stornoway, Lewis. Following the 7-1 game the squad attended a reception at the Hebrides Bar in Stornoway. They then took on the Saw Doctors at Back Sports centre at 10pm. Despite Wayne Addicoat being pished, they held them to a draw.
  23. August 1966, I got taken to Ibrox to see The Forces of Darkness. That's right, Partick Thistle. And the other Forces of slightly darker Darkness beat them 6-1. My first senior ground was April that year. At Tynecastle, Bonnyrigg Rose 1 Penicuik Athletic 0. First Scotland match, October 73, Scotland 2 Czech 1. First (I)CT match, East Stirling 0 CT 2 in the League Cup, Aug 94.
