  1. Just read an article on the beeb website (HERE) with Gordon Strachan moaning about over inflated wages/trasfer fees and how he cant compete in the transfer market with teams like Hull and Stoke despite having the countrys 5th highest wage bill a few years back. Welcome to the real world! I agree with the fact the wages and transfer fees are spiralling out of control and it cannot be sustained but, one comment in particular really puzzled me: Cant quite work out how signing a Spanish midfielder helps Scottish football?!? By signing foreign players surely this could be seen as depriving Scottish players from firstly earning a wage and secondly giving the player exposure to European football which will ultimately benefit his development and subsequently the scottish game. Can anyone see the logic in the quote above?
  2. It isnt a new era as eras last longer than six months - and lets face it this is a temporary fix with the goal of survival - two months in arrears unfortunately. Our board as ever have been short sighted and reactive. They will undoubtedly point the blame at Brewster if all of this goes awry. Butcher may well be a polished speaker - and he has the TV panel experience to come across as he does - but he aint a miracle worker - It really does depend on who he gets in before next week. Lets face it - he may have the passion but if ya dont have at least 11 good men and true then you are going to struggle. But I fer one will be behind him as he really has nothing to lose and everything to gain - and I bet he knows it. And apparently two of the first words that my mole overheard were "Kevin Kyle" - I could live with that. think he's been offered a contract at Killie hasnt he?
  3. agree with that
  4. Not half! Billy Reid is slating him in the press today for agreeing to join accies then ditching them
  5. has a vast network of contacts in the game but has he ever managed? would love to see him as assistant manager if not

    inspiration

Tell them to go out and prove to the SPL that they are not as bad as Brew and Malky has made them look through bizzarre positioning and tactics. or offer them a huge win bonus!
  7. jobs a good un'

    Bern Krauss

    Krauss certainly looks like an experienced manager!!! 1988-1989 - SC Kapellen 1989-1990 - Borussia MG Am 1990-1991 - FC K?ln Am 1991-1996 - Borussia MG 1997-1999 - Real Sociedad 2000 - Borussia Dortmund 2001-2002 - RCD Mallorca 2002 - Aris Saloniki 2004 - VfB Admira Wacker M?dling 2005 - Pegah Gilan F.C. 2006 - CD Tenerife 2007 - SK Schwadorf

    Bern Krauss

Along with all the other names linked with us i see The sun is reporting Bern Krauss is set to apply for the job, personally i cant say ive ever heard of him. Anyone know who he is? the first part of the quote fills me with dread!!!
  10. How will they approach this one? i expect they'll keep training match preparation pretty much the same until a new boss is appointed Will there be any radical changes by way of personnel or tactics? Personnel - close to usual except i would imagine/hope that midfielders will be on their correct sides i.e. Cowie on the right or Imrie/Vigurs on the left. Will they start with Barrowman up front? I expect they will Might there be a place for Blackie? Yes, he seems eager to get us out of this hole and impress his new boss so expect a good performance. Can anyone see ICT getting some kind of a result at Tynecastle? Yes, i believe we can
  11. he's sitting at 20/1
  12. we've certainly been missing that!
  13. Eric Black, Gary McAllister, Derek McInnes, Robbo or Craig Brown please
  14. have to say im suprised that the board decided to sack him after promising to back him fully in the transfer window but i think it was the right decision to make. Personally i think it was the wrong decision appointing him in the first place but hey ho. Stats dont lie and our record over the past year has been attrocious, that along with bizarre team selections, bizarre tactics, no public relation skills at all and an incredible approach to dealing with players has left the board with no choice. have never felt so low as an ICT suporter as i have done over the last few months. i can see light at the end of the tunnel now. Heres hoping we can get someone on board asap and get the team playing proper football again. 'mon the caley jags
  15. Yes - but Vits Rimkus is yet another short term solution. so is this the striker on trial then? at 35 he is certainly experienced!! looks like he knows the way to goal though, in 143 appearances for FK Ventspils he has scored 81 times, not a bad goal return.
  16. if he gets released from Celtic as the papers are suggesting then he'll have to take what offers are open to him. He was signed on good wages before the credit crunch and i think most players are now aware the wage drops are not uncommon unless your signing for man city! i dont think any SPL club would match his wages currently. His shot stopping was immense when he was here, his only deficiencies when he was he was command of the area and possibly kicking, two areas which can be improved upon. He would still be a valuable asset IMO. with regards to training im sure that we employed a goalkeeping coach after he left so id guess goalkeeper training would have changed anyway looks like Fraser could be off to Motherwell so we'll need a new keeper
  17. Because he is an excellent keeper who according to the tabloids wont be at Celtic much longer. He didnt have a great game today but as we know from his time with us needs a run of games to build confidence. I think he would not necessarily displace Esson just now but would be an asset to any SPL team
  18. may be a good thing, we need strikers!!!!
  19. Broonie come home
  20. by what ive read on the web he seems like a decent signing, pacy, strong, pops up with the odd goal and by the picture above, commited!! looks like Brew is certainly addressing our defensive woes. hopefully theres some attacking reinforcements pencilled in too!
  21. Just call them Dave... what Dave said
  22. i completely agree with the fact that the same rules should be applied to all supporters and i think this has not been the case at TCS over the past couple of seasons. I have seen on numerous occasions our fans being asked to sit or even ejected for not sitting but have had to endure hundreds of old firm fans stand to sing their songs. Likewise where banners displaying views which are not politicial, racist or prejudiced are removed from the home end, away fans are free to fly what the want. Inconsistency to the extreme here!! i think a lot of the time it comes down to the number of offenders. Its easy for a steward to ask for one flag or banner to be removed or ask one or two people to sit down but its a completely different task asking a hundred celtic fans to remove tricolours or a hundred rangers fans with their union flags. IMO where a steward is unable to handle a large group of fans then this is where police must intervene. edited to correct some dodgy grammar!
  23. By that attitude I suppose you should wear boxer shorts only if you plan on competing in a boxing match that day. :thumb04: :018: lucky i dont wear grandad shirts, would set tongues wagging!!
  24. personally i only wear one to play football in, not much call for it anywhere else IMO
  25. Guy Kerr has left the club by mutual consent, story here didnt see that much of the lad play so cant really comment
