  1. I can see both sides of the argument. Dargo shouldn't have spoken out about being the 'scapegoat' and similarly neither should Duncan or Hart have been unpunished for speaking out at their absence from the team. IMO problems, views or grievances with team selection or tactics should remain within the confines of the club and not be aired through the press. If it were me in charge, (which thankfully it isn't) i would of reprimanded Duncan and Hart for their outburst and suggested that future grievances be dealt with directly with the manager. I can understand the players frustrations but looking at the situation from the other side it shows that our players are determined to play for the team which is what we want, however i don't see the benefit of going to the press when ultimately its the manager that makes the decisions and not the press. One thing that i will always admire about Sir Alex is his ability to control his players with relation to their interaction with the press. You will rarely see a man united player speak publicly about problems with tactics, grievances about being subbed, or team selection etc and i think that is the way it should be done.
  2. Ha ha, or i'm sure a cattle prod would liven things up :crazy07:!
  3. Couldn't agree more!

I dont think brew is the solution to our current goal scoring problems. I think we have forwards in the team who are capable of scoring regularly given enough service. I think the problem lies within the creative aspect of our play, i dont think we are creating enough goal scoring opportunities.
  5. Could it not be argued that our team spirit is not down to the fact footballers have nothing to do up here other than twiddle their thumbs and is in actual fact down to a great set of level headed dedicated lads that we have in the team who know they are not superstars and will have to rely on teamwork to get results. Because our players are not paid the same as other SPL players, this means they do not have over-inlflated egos and know they have to work hard for their money and the bonuses which the club offers for winning games and finishing as high up the table as possible. I welcome his praise but i see it more as mind games than general admiration. I know there is a central belt mentality about teams more than 30 mins from glasgow but what that has to do with football i do not know. As a club we may be relatively small in comparison to other SPL teams but we have shown in the past and as recently a few weeks ago at Ibrox, that we have what it takes to cut it with the big boys in the SPL. Heres hoping we give them another reminder that were not some diddy team from the middle of no-where. With regards to the comment about Strachan displaying some knowledge of our team, i would say i should **** well think so, an SPL manager should know his opposition inside out including what players he should be looking out for, so to give him credit for doing what he is paid to do seems a bit obvious to me. As a football fan i could tell you a high percentage of players for each of the teams in the SPL and the players which make the team tick and i would hope that SPL managers would be able to know more!
  6. "They believe in what they are doing, they have a good group of players and because of where they live, I am sure that they bond well together. "Up in Inverness there is nothing really close by and the players have got to get on well together, similar to when I was at Aberdeen and we were miles away from everything." hmmm, its amazing how us highlanders actually manage to live so far from everything! Could that comment be any more condescending? :008:

    Feck, Feck, Feck
  8. Great news, well done Mark Brown. First i'd heard of this, when was the squad announced? :006:
  9. very interesting, :015: The only meaning i knew for 'libero' was sweeper or defensive position in football or volleyball. Busy day then TM4TJ?
  10. i see all the posts have been merged now, woops! ****, though i was the first to get the scotland squad up on the forums here as well. Clark is the big stand out for me, he should never be in it! Lee Miller has the potential to be a good striker but he hasn't been playing anywhere near his potential over the last couple of seasons. Was playing very well when at hearts but had been mince up in Scotland since then.
  11. Ha ha :015: i got there first though :016:
  12. Absolutely! Chris Clark? what an absolute joke, next he'll be calling up langfield!
  13. Fair call i think, last night wasn't one of Dods' finer performances in an ICT shirt. As you say Dods has signalled he wants to leave so why not get Caff back in the team, i say yeah why not.

I'm going to say no, i think that Duncan had a great game last night and i think Duncan deserves to keep his place after the performance last night. Black hasn't quite regained the form he showed last season and hopefully a couple of games on the bench could be the right incentive to improve his performances.
  15. Absolutely RiG. Remember the game like it was yesterday, the passing was so crisp and accurate it was a joy to behold
  16. Doesnt matter what division we were in, or what season it was, we have always been a far better team when playing the ball on the deck and passing it around couldnt agree more
  17. this is what i play in fm06 :014: hey just sayin like :015: Ha ha, despite the look of that formation i posted i did actually mean us playing a 4-4-2 but i merely put Duncan further back and Rankin further forward to emphasize their defensive and attacking roles respectively. So the 4-1-2-1-2 formation was not intended to be that way. :015: No matter what happens i'd like to see Richie back in the team and possibly Wyness to freshen things up a bit. Dont know if this was directed at me but: See above with regards to my proposed formation. I praise the team when its deserved and it has been deserved recently but theres always room for improvement and theres no harm in striving to improve now is there?
  18. Thats where a holding midfielder with good passing skills is a huge benefit to defenders who dont share david beckhams passing skills. All it takes is a short pass from the defence to a holding midfielder who can spray the ball wherever. Personally i am not a fan of the long ball tactic at all and i dont think it suits our team, our defenders are excellent at stopping attacks and all it needs is a short simple pass to a midfielder dropping deep and we can build from there. its not rocket science.
  19. Agree with you there Harry, we cant sit back and let them come at us because they have dangerous players who can cause us problems, got to attack from the whistle. Not sure if i'd go as full out as a 3-4-3 but would maybe swap McBain for Hart to give us a slightly more attacking impetus. Need to get Rankin further forward in my opinion as thats where he's most dangerous and with Duncan in the team i think that can happen. How about: Brown Rossco Dods Munro Hastings Duncan Hart Wilson Rankin Dargo Bayne

Nope, dont think it would be beneficial to either party. Think Brewster needs to get back into managment asap for his own good and i think it would unsettle our squad. Wouldnt mind Stevie Campbell back though as by all reports he is a very well respected coach.
  21. Its inevitable that when the squad is fully fit that some players will not get a regular game however this will not always be the case as injuries can and will hit you at any time, i hope Russell stays patient as he is an asset to the team which i feel would be greatly missed. As mentioned a bit of an unsung player for ICT who plays a difficult role in the team which doesnt look pretty but is important nonetheless.
  22. Article from todays courier Potential Investor Revealed :003:
  23. 24. either way, it wont put me up nor down, just think there wont be as many falkirk fans up as usual.
