  1. yeah Miss....i totally agree...kids should be treated fairly, but also kept in line. seems to me nowadays that many parents dont actually do much parenting and are in fact terrible role models for kids, and hence why society is going to the dogs! I like to allow my kids to be kids, and am lucky, and in all fairness to them, they are good kids. but if the need arose, i would come down on them like a ton of bricks, because i believe that discipline has a part to play. Sadly, there are plenty that dont share my views.
  2. Not sure i agree with that Gringo. Kids in care have a whole range of people to pander after them, actually, thats true accross the board now. Far too many people prepared to listen to whinging kids these days and thats part of the problem. kids are manipulating the system to get their own way. My nephew wanted to go into care, coz he saw how specially treated a kid from his class was, who was in care. He wnated for nothing and got preferential treatment in class. That is plain wrong! I don't think it's that the kids get treated more 'specially' I think people get jealous when they think that someone is getting more than them (I'm pretty sure that kid would have been jealous of things your nephew was given, does that mean he isn't allowed it?). I work with people with mental health problems (in care system) and the experiences in their life are something I would have never wanted. So if someone actually shows them love and as you say 'pander' after their needs then i'm pretty sure it's for the good of their adult life. These kids have been negletced, some sexually abused, have parents who couldn't cope, some parents who never even wanted them. You are going to extremes there Miss. In my post...i refer to kids in general nowadays, having a never ending stream of "professionals" ready to listen to their woes at a whim. I have had first hand experience of it. My oldest was playing up at school....made some embellished alegations about his terrible home life. Next thing, there were child psychologists etc scrutinising his mother and the best bit......the actual resolution offered from them was...........................to suggest he was bought a bike...coz he wanted one! Point being, a kid now just has to throw a hissy fit, before they are labeled and have all sorts of people making excuses for their behaviour etc.....when its a good old kick in the arse is what is required!

  4. Aye, teenagers don't see the news at all. What if it had been a teenage girl jumping off the Kessock that some of the teenage boys on here knew, would it still only affect you 'more worldly ones'? Quite a narrow point of view to hold if ya ask me. Dont go misquoting me, coz you will just look a ***! I at no point sed ALL teenagers! Of course if someone you knew comitted suicide it would affect you regardless of age. But i stand by my post that that many teenagers dont take much notice of of the lesser everyday events!
  5. Feel a bit sorry for the attackers bigger mate. he appeared to be trying to pull the instigator away....and got a punch in the chops for his trouble.
  6. JB, i dont suppose many teenagers take much notice of events like this to be honest. it more us more worldly ones that are affected by such events.

  8. Such a tragic waste of young lives. I wonder what drove them to this heartbreaking end. I saw their pics and they were bonnie lasses. So sad! RIP girls
  9. Im pretty sure the drive isnt goosed...as its been used no more than 20 times. And no Jay....i checked the Bios and the drive isnt listed
  10. I been investigating for a few hours now, and while it seems a common problem, I have yet to find a fix. tried the specific so called Microsoft Fix It soloution....NO LUCK (waste of time) and the latest thing i have tried is this............. "Reports have filtered in that CD or DVD drives will suddenly cease to exist in XP systems. Most often this has been reported in conjunction with program installations and Windows upgrades, but it has also happened for no apparent reason. This tweak will restore the missing drives after a reboot. [start] [Run] [Regedit] Registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class Key Name: {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} Value Data: [Delete All Value Data from UpperFilters and LowerFilters] Note: Do not delete the Key or the Multi-String Values. Delete only the data values. Exit Registry and Reboot" No luck, coz the upper and lower flters dont exist!
  11. Ok folks, heres the deal. My fooking DVD rom keeps dissapearing from my laptop. I have done two factory restores in recent weeks....both times, it restored the Rom Drive. But for some reason, it lasts a few days before it is being removed from both My Computer and Device manager. it is really doing my nut in. The only things i have dowloaded are, utorrent, VLC player, AVG and any updates from windows. It has to be something in there that is causing the problem. Anyone got any idea....coz i will have to do a factory restore (which takes 2 hrs) if i want to get it back, coz i dont know any other way. Also....there is no point doing it, as it will soon dissappear again, judging by previous experience
  12. There are plenty of apt...non law breaking slaggings you could justifyibly aim at the gypos......"great unwashed", "Soap Dodgers" among them. thats not breaking any laws!
  13. I fully expect the Club to have their little plants on these forums....thinking we would be too daft to suss them out!
  14. this is the pathetic Highland way. Your not allowed banter. Your not allowed to cause a scene, by backing your team, not allowed to do anything remotley risque. But...as i sed earlier in the thread...the more we roll over and tow the party line, the more those behind it will expect. its like Gaelic!! People need to make a stand
  15. Its just typical of living in the UK. Everything like rail network, roads network, BROADBAND etc etc is light years behind other less affluent nations. I motion that we strike the Great part of Great Britain from the name, or change it to Not So Great Britain. What ever happened to being pioneers?
  16. I hear UK is 25th in the league table for Broadband speeds. S Korea leads the way, and even the likes of Estonia and Latvia are ahead of us. BT should be forced to invest some of their humungus profits back into actually providing an acceptable service, rather than lining their pockets.
  17. When you get to near 40 yrs old, and your metabolism has slowed down etc etc...you will understand why you only want OAPS playing :D
  18. Is that a suruptitious dig at me there DC.....since am on a low income? :P Pot and kettle an all that :P Am gonna leave it a bit nearer to xmas to get the xbox DC. No point getting it now and losing a few months of the warranty, just incase its needed. I sounded him out about it the other day, and he deffo has his heart set on one
  19. I might be up for that. Really need to start getting exercise. Ad qualify for the over 40s from next May Stevie . Where exactly is it due to be built? Anywhere near the vets?
  20. your not wrong Georgios. Even in "low income" families.....the kids all seem to get the latest gadgets etc. They are spoilt nowadays
  21. I was skint as a kid, and was NEVER short of something to do! And that was before community centres, sports centres, snooker and pool halls, puggies, xbox, ps3,DVDs and everything else they have now
  22. Dont kid yourself. Kids have soo much to do these days they dont know where to start. They would rather mump and moan about having nothing to do. Ad love these kids to sample a little of my life growing up in the 70s, make em appreciate exactly what they do have!
  23. Better hope theres a spare door at the other end to unload the bike :)

    ICT's future

I have been meaning to ask this question for ages, but how many of our current board are historcally linked to inverness football? Are they just yes men and part of a clique? As far as i am aware....Sutherlands puppet......err.....erm...i mean Fraser, his backgorund lies in Shinty!
  25. Well...if people just roll over and play by the rules...the politically correct brigade (the minority) will get their own way and continue on their ridiculous campaign.
