I tried everything. I tried System restore (fat lot of good that was, as it wouldnt restore to any previous date). Basically, i used regedit, and a registry prog. did some tinkling, then uninstalled the DVD rom then rebooted. and it worked

See.....now Dee.....youve touched on a point there. U shouldnt wait till your playing merits buying a good guitar. You should buy one and it will MAKE you want to play, and will make you a better player too. I had been strumming guitars since 1977. never had a proper good one. (took up playing bass in 80s). Was losing heart with it, so i invested in a 1972 Fender Precision bass....and it made me wanna play the more. Its a joy to play.

Also...a lil titbit of info....which not many people know, hendrix very occasionally was known to play a Gibson!

Having played both guitars over the years, and am not talking cheap ones, am talking the properthings, inexcess of ?2000 a pop, i would say...the Gibson is the nicer sounding Guitar. Far nicer tone about it, better looking machines too. Also...probably a bit more comfortable/easier to play

While Im not calling for Butch's head...i do think he has failed to sort out the schizophrenic nature of the teams performance. The Dundee result aside, i believe, we should be sitting with at least antoher 5-6 points MORE than we currently have. there are those who say we have no right to belittle other teams...but, for a team who are endevouring to reach the SPL this season, we have to be taking care of teams like Ayr Utd and Ross Co, ESPECIALLY at home! While Butch was not my choice for the managers job, like DC, i will give try and give him till xmas before i start making my discontent known. But, there are already issues cropping up.

Au contraire DC....for i can now confirm...i fixed the issue myself. A lot of (educated) trial and error, a bit of gurning and a tad inginuity and Bobs yer uncle. Just shows....them charlatans at microsoft telling me duff info, telling me it would take them 30-45 mins to fix.....and not to mention COST me dosh. BEWARE!!! Oh....it feels so good.....the world wasnt the same while my DVD rom wasnt working! Am a happy pup again (after hours of frustration)

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I had the brainwave to try a system restore. Well....funnily enuff...that doesnt work...as it fails to restore to the earlier point. Honest to god. Am starting to see exactly why people slate microsoft! I reckon its bloody microsoft updates the screwed my registry in the first place, coz its about the only thing apart from AVG that i updated! Is there anyway i can do a factory restore, given that my DVD rom wont fire up?

I went on to the Microsoft free 15 min fix it thing......and suprise suprise.....they couldnt fix it in the 15 mins. But graham...you have given me an option. I will try and boot from my system restore disc to see if it runs. Its a registry problem according to the Microsft dude! Would take him 30 mins to fix it...and cost me $20

Did as you suggested Don....and when i restarted, laptop detected new drive etc....still not playing ball tho :(

yeah.....its on device manager, but showind as No problems with this device. I will try what you suggest Don. Finger crossed!

Hi folks. My laptop seems to have ceased playing cds. I have tried a few things without luck. When i try to copy a cd...it says No Supported Drive Detected. I cant even do a system restore, as it wont run the disc. Anyone have an idea as to what the deal is?

The situation in Inverness could get a LOT worse if Lifescan were to up and leave. And historically, the company behind them think nothing of turning their backs on millions of pounds investment, upping sticks and relocating to a more favourable location. Let us hope they have no urge to do so in the foreseeable future, coz it would have a horrendous knock on effect for Inversneck.

Of the new signings...the only real hope i have is Cox. I include Foran in this. From what i have seen and heard....he gets in great positions, then tries to pass. We dont need that. We need someone whos not afraid to take a shot. As for Stratford....I think it may well come to pass, that he will be viewed, by most of the support, as sub standard. The worrrying thing is. Butch seems to have failed to bring in ANY player that was at least as good as, or better than his predescescor. So far...i think the bench has been housing several players that should be starting, in place of some of the starting 11. And i seriously hope its not Butch's ego getting in the way.

Let the Inbred, Peg selling, G y p o tinks have a gloat. its a rarity for them to claim a victory over us. Am sure if you check the stats, you will find we are WAY ahead of them on derby victories.
