Queens ***GAME OFF BERT***
Strictly speaking you are correct. But if a team bus crashed in blizzard conditions at, say, Drumochter, with serious injuries or worse, and the team was travelling against police advice because the authorities had not postponed a game, then the authorities would be open to extremely serious criticism and perhaps even litigation for negligence. They can't ignore the wider consequences of their actions or inactions.

Queens ***GAME OFF BERT***
Absolutely disgraceful - incompetent if not downright negligent. Who schedules and arranges pitch inspections - the SPFL or the home team? In a just world, there would be a strong case for compensation for wasted time and money.

Was the rule passed by the clubs voting on it, or was it imposed on them? I genuinely don't know.

If you could change one event
Agreed, but with the observation that these factors are not all independent of each other. For example, a poor chairman appoints a poor CEO, who makes bad decisions. Or a poor chairman appoints a poor manager, who.... In the end, it all comes down to the stewardship of the club by successive boards of directors, which, to use a word which is indisputable and not defamatory, has failed.

Not until a way is found for the club to continue beyond administration. And if more teams go into administration - I was told in the summer that a number of teams were on the brink - then it might not do us any good. It would give potential buyers more choice.

The Good Times
Well, you know what they say. Play a C&W record backwards, and your wife comes back to you, your dog comes back to life, you get your job and your car back.... and your team starts climbing the table again

It also shows anyone interested in buying us that we have great potential. Every match when in adminstration is an important part of our sales pitch.

Given that the squad is now just a smaller subset of the squad that he had, that would not be a logical argument, Captain

I might go back further, and say that if we hadn't won the Scottish Cup, nor finished 3rd in the league that season, then all the inflated money demands which followed wouldn't have happened. We didn't know how to handle success.

Actually, they don't. The official club statement says that they "have received expressions of interest from 20 parties following the commencement of the sale process for the club." The BBC news report does indeed start off by saying that there have been 20 expressions of interest in buying the club. But it then quotes BDO: "We have had many inquiries from people wanting to help and support the club financially, ranging from on-site restaurant opportunities to advertising and so on." I think that's your 20 - and that the number of parties interested in buying the whole club will be considerably less than 20. But fingers crossed that the right solution can be found!

BBC website providing only stats for Championship, League 1 (and presumably League 2) games today. No textual description of what's happening. Is there some sort of strike on?

Ferguson gone, who is next (List of Admin cuts)
As I've said recently, I can't see anything coming to court. There will be no desire to spend more money with no guarantee of success - and no guarantee of recovering costs, let alone any embezzled funds, if there is success.

Ferguson gone, who is next (List of Admin cuts)
There's a great book to be written about the past few years - starting with the Scottish Cup victory and documenting our descent since then. Only problem is that, because of the ages and ability to sue of the key characters, you won't be writing it, Charles, and I won't be reading it. And by the time it could be written, it will all have been forgotten anyway.

I keep wondering if we will be permitted to sign new players.

Ferguson gone, who is next (List of Admin cuts)
You're assuming that we will be allowed to sign/employ new people. And have the money. I have no idea.

Sweeper, keeper and wingman?

I would have hoped that Alan Savage would be able to give the Administrator chapter & verse on this, following his "forensic audit". Probably not the Administrator's concern, though. I suspect that we will hear nothing more of this in the future, nor about the apparent negligence of the rest of the Board for the past few years. I suspect that there will be nothing that would stand up in a court of law, and that any detailed public revelations could well lead to defamation claims, as Gardiner, for example, has already threatened. Nothing to see here, move along....

When I used to work (in IT), if you were payed expenses for travel to your normal place of work, then HMRC would treat that as a taxable benefit - ie an additional part of your income. Used to cause problems with long-term assignments, either when people were assigned to work on another site for a long time, or when they ended up working there for longer than originally planned. HMRC would claim that this site was now their "normal place of work". I think it was after two years that this was triggered. It's been a while, but I can't imagine that the rules have changed, nor that the rules are different for footballers.

Maroon, as a nod to Citadel FC, who played very near by. Maybe even change the club name to Citadel. (Is there still a club in the town with that name?) Should finish off the old Caley/Thistle rivalry, which belongs to 30 years ago. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverness_Citadel_F.C. Last time I suggested this, there was a pile of downvotes. So I'm ready this time

"It is understood the group, who together already command a majority shareholding in the stricken Inverness club...." I'll let someone else crunch the numbers on the shareholders' list (available at Companies House) to work out which six individuals would have a majority shareholding As I said recently, last time I looked it seemed as though my old school buddy* Graham Rae has the largest individual shareholding. Please God not again! * Actually he wasn't a buddy - our paths simply never crossed. Though I was gobsmacked when he took over a few years ago.
