  1. Postie just delivered my ticket for Friday. See you there!
  2. Read this - https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/feb/20/why-hot-new-social-app-clubhouse-spells-nothing-but-trouble
  3. Got a wee bit concerned when Ayr came back into the game after we went two up. But in the end it didn't matter. Disgusting that they have to travel that distance home without a shower, and I just don't see the reason for it.
  4. Is the secondary one still working after being clouted?
  5. I prefer the camera they switch to when they are wiping the primary one. Colours not so good, but sharper and higher off the ground.
  6. They have just started. All good with Firefox on my PC, and also with the browser on my LG TV.
  7. I'm getting a sequence of still pictures - behind the match title - but no sound.
  8. My guess is that, at best, would be a curtain-raiser for next season. I was wondering the other day what they may do with the Scottish Cup Final. If fans might be allowed in, it might be tempting, if all parties agree, to hold that over until the start of next season.
  9. Forecast for Ayr is heavy rain and 40+mph winds. Are we sure this is going ahead?
  10. Just had a look at the webcam - you're having much better weather than I am in SE Eng-er-land. Might be worth reminding everyone that the kick-off is at 6:30 tonight.
  11. Given that old Reg is a football man, someone should bring this game to his attention and suggest that he buys a ticket. If 18,000 people paid to see him, then he could return the compliment He'd get Robbo's autograph if he could stretch to a £10 one!
  12. I thought I was there in 1970, but on checking the scores it must have been 1972 as well. Alan Ball scored by nutmegging the keeper, and then spent the rest of the match making V-signs at the crowd. Better stop now before the mods book us for being off-topic
  13. For me, 132,870 at Hampden, 1969 Scottish Cup Final..... so maybe not (Celtic 4 Rangers 0. Alex Ferguson's last game for Rangers. ICT pre-history link - Andy Penman.)
  14. According to Wikipedia, that's 7753, on 20 January 2008 against Rangers. Though we have had higher attendances at "home" games at Pittodrie and at Tannadice. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverness_Caledonian_Thistle_F.C.#Attendance However, the club's own website says 7512, against Rangers on 06 August 2005. https://ictfc.com/caledonian-stadium Anyway, go for it! it's a fantastic thing to do.
  15. No, but you can see the length and shape of the word. Quite distinctive - unique, in fact, for the line that it's on.
  16. An obvious improvement to our set-up would be to put a second person into the commentary box, to provide contrast, humour, banter, and indeed knowledge of the players. A former player would be ideal, although there are plenty here who could do it. There would be no shortage of volunteers. I was thinking during the second half, with that wind behind us, that if ever there is a time for "route one" football, that was it. When in possession, even if you're still in your own half, just keep lobbing the ball towards the penalty spot, and get down there as fast as possible. Press forward - make it difficult for them to clear their lines. That wind would have caused chaos, and you just need to get a couple of breaks and the match is won.
  17. If you fancy spending a little money on it, have a look at https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/ . Subscription rates are at https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/account/subscribe . They appear to have the Courier, Highland News and the Northern Chronicle from the relevant period, all online. The papers are scanned in, and then OCR software "reads" the images and produces text files, so you can perform searches. The text is often gibberish, since the quality of the original newspapers is variable, but with the image to refer to, you can usually work it out. I don't have a subscription. I have only used it once, in a free trial, when I discovered that my great-grandfather was killed by a train at the station in the 1890s, and I was able to find reports of the incident and of the subsequent inquiry. Public libraries sometimes have subscriptions to online newspaper archives which you can use for free, but it doesn't look as though Inverness Library does. It does, however, have all the local newspapers on microfilm. How easy it would be to find information in them will depend on whether the Library has indexed them. Something to ask them when they re-open. If you did find some information about the early Inverness clubs and then wrote it up, I would be very interested to read it, and I am sure that there will be many others. Good luck!
  18. In that case, would probably have to delay the start of next season. Everyone deserves a break this summer.
  19. That came to me during the game. No one on the pitch reading the game, assessing how it was going, reacting to the ebb and flow, influencing the team. Just 11 players doing their own things, and not able or not having the vision to adapt when it was needed.
  20. I'm surprised. You've been close. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_Chapel
  21. This one popped up on my PC recently - it's in my background slideshow. A little different from the usual...
