Ted Collett - Caledonian FC
Nope. Have just had a quick look through Alex Main's "Caley All The Way", and Rodwill Clyne's "In A Different League", and didn't see any mention of someone by that name. The legendary Rod Clyne was Caley's no 9 for some of the period that you mention. Maybe Collett was a second team player, or played for another Inverness club - though I'd have thought I'd have heard the name. Google turns up nothing, except a massive - and I mean massive - site at www.collettfamilyhistory.net/ , which I am NOT looking through

ICTFC Squad Update 21/22/23/
Probably no more than he had a fair chance, but didn't make the grade. Dodds has now brought in others who can play up front and surely can't be any worse, so Manny is surplus to requirements. Shane Sutherland too, with whom so many promising moves break down, had better raise his game. BTW, it says that Manny will be welcomed back "in Inverness". It doesn't mean that they would have him back at the club.

As I have said before, I don't think our performance varies that much from game to game. Sometimes we get a break, sometimes we don't. Having said that, Ridgers had more to do yesterday than usual. No surpise, with regular defenders out or on the bench. I liked what I saw of both Pearson and Chalmers. Both seemed to have energy and something else that's been missing - directness. Pick the ball up and head for goal - give the defences something to stop. Samuels looked good too. I like the idea that we have brought so much youth into the side. (Although yes I do know that we have our own youngsters, too.) I look forward to some more spirited displays in the coming weeks.

Sam Pearson
That's exactly what I was thinking the other day. Would be a nice problem to have, though...

Inverness CT -V- Queen of the South - Preview
I still think that our main problem is inability to capitalise on the many chances that we make. We don't score as much as we should. Other teams seem much better at taking advantage of the few chances that they make. Not the most reliable stats, I know, but the BBC has us with over twice as many shots, shots on target, and corners than Queens yesterday. We have the 3rd lowest "goals against" in the league. Killie 15, Arbroath 16, us 17. So although I too would like to see improvements in the defence, I don't think that is where the problem is. We are 5th for goals scored. I'd much rather have the ability to score goals than to have a great defence and trust to luck to win 1-0. Game to game, I don't think our performance changes that much, although admittedly in the last two we have been better in the second half than in the first. I think we just go out and play, and sometimes we get lucky, and sometimes we don't. It's pretty random. And I can't see how to change that in just a few weeks. Duku is not the answer. As an off-the-wall suggestion, I'd still be interested to see Carson pushed up front, just to see what he could do. He has drive, determination, power, and he usually finds his man when he passes. If he could keep his head and ignore the inevitable niggling from defenders, then he might make a big difference to things.

The first one - couldn't tell, because our last defender, Broadfoot IIRC, was offscreen when the pass was made. Ross Tokely reckoned that he had played the Queens attacker onside, and that the goal was good. The second one - couldn't tell, because the camera was looking at the goalmouth from the centre line. As you say, the linesman flagged, and, when Collum was finally persuaded to consult him, it was so brief that there cannot have been any exchange of information. Barely time for Collum to say "I'm in charge here!". When the referee becomes a large part of the story, especially when that was so predictable, then something has gone badly wrong.

Michael Gardyne has left the club
But still one of our joint leading goalscorers for the season...

Michael Gardyne has left the club
I agree that he would have unsettled the dreassing room, but I'm not sure about the rest. He was one of our better forwards, and, indeed, is joint leading goalscorer at the moment. Top for shot accuracy, too, which is not bad considering he was probably shooting from much further out than Billy ever does. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/inverness-caledonian-thistle/top-scorers If he hadn't made such a positive contribution to the team then we wouldn't be discussing him at length.

January additions?
Can't see anyone who's London-based, aged 16, and presumably still in education, wanting to move about 600 miles from home to the Highlands of Scotland! Can't see anyone who cares about him - ie family or club - even considering that for an instant.
