  1. i have sent a PM but if you decide to park. Take the Dumbarton junction on the M8 and head towards Kelvinbridge Subway. They have a park and ride there and it is on the better side of the Kingston Bridge than Shields Road. It is also in a good spot on the loop so you may get it a bit quiter, just a bit of a wait after the game at Ibrox Station. If you do this, please remember not to get off at Ibrox if you are coming to Brechins for a drink. make sure you get off at Govan.
  2. Dont park at Asda as you will get a ticket. You can park safely on Broomloan Road, the only downside is that it is all huns that park there but it is at our end of the ground. If you are leaving at 2pm you will hit Glasgow at rush hour and being honest all the roads are bad. When you hit the M8 just bear with it and you should get to Ibrox/Govan around 6pm. Feel free to park at mine as by 6pm most of the people that use the car park to get the subway will be gone. Myself and IHE will probably be in the pub by that point so just park up and walk over. I shall PM you the details and you can make your mind up from there.
  3. So you dont want your normal room for the Rangers game then? :thumb04: Oops - I was only jesting. A jaggie is welcome from anywhere in the world - but especially the southern hemisphere. You are forgiven. The first beer on Wednesday is on you! As for DerbyDave, welcome.
  4. It is a certaintly the bubble will burst at some point but I least we have a team that is fighting for every point at the moment unlike 5 weeks ago. I hope you lot do get promotion. I look forward to playing you 3 times next season and then sadly watching from afar as the wee team from the south are relegated straight back to Div 1. Maybe we could all pay in pennies to get in again next season?
  5. Either of these 2 for me.
  6. So you dont want your normal room for the Rangers game then?
  7. Probably at Murray Park. Sometimes they let punters in so it would be a good game to get to.
  8. Borrow borrow you will borrow millions Anywhere everywhere you will borrow on Dundee, Hamilton, you'd even tap the Vatican If you go to Dublin you will borrow there Hello hello your 60 million in debt Hello hello your not insolvent yet Your up to your knees in Murray's debt Sell players or you'll die For you are the poorest club in Scotland Sure you will have seen them somewhere else but I am sure it will wind up the friendly Iborx crowd!
  9. Extend it a bit for you: Foran Foran Foran, keep those goals a scorin'...Foran, Keep the goals a scorin, keeps the jags a winnin'... 10. i'll try and get the bus up and go for a beer :thumb04: I know there is a bus from Paisley that stops just down from the pub. Maybe see you there. All welcome as norm!
  11. How dare you! Coming from Linwood he will have been robbed on the way out of town, long before I can get him!
  12. Showaddieadie certainly wasnt camera shy!
  13. I believe the tickets are not on sale yet but when they are you wont have a problem as we rarely fill our allocation and with it being a Wednesday it will be even worse support wise. Pop into my local for a wee drink pre match of you like. It is Brechins on Govan Road, just down from Govan Underground.
  14. I remember Thistle with a couple of Orange away tops. The worst was the very light blue with splashes of purple and I am sure it had purple shorts as well.
  15. Cradelhall in Street league for one season winning div 2 if I remember (Bronson?). Then Cradelhall and Hill Rovers in the Youth League again winning Div 2 in YL with Rovers. One the league by needing a point against Clach. Two nil done but brough it back to 2 all, great game. I am still sure we didnt win the league that year as the ref put us down as a 7-6 win over Smithton when I was sure it was a 6 all draw. The game had penalties, sending off's and a pitch invasion when we were winning as the Smithton youths wanted the game stopped. As we all went to Culloden we all new each other so it was mad, added to that the ref was a trainee p.e teacher from Culloden!
  16. At least there was a better attendance than at the last round. There was less than 20,000 at Celtic Park yesterday. Take 1000 off for QP fans thats 19,000. That is 36,000 missing season ticket holders! Makes our 1500 or so look like nothing doesnt it? We have been getting small crowds for years so to be honest (and no offence), the thread is pointless. I rember traveling from Glasgow for League Cup game against Dumbarton the year we won Div 1 and there was around 650 people at the game.
  17. You wont call me Lionel Blair again!!!
  18. Easliy done!
  19. We are no different to all clubs. Celtic Park and Ibrox are silent considering there are 50,000 people. I cant think of a single ground we visit the that home fans make any real noise. The only noise you get is at the start, a corner or a goal. I include Tynie in this. It has the best atmosphere of any ground when they can actually be bothered. All fans make more noise on away trips thanks to drink, die hard support and the general craic.
  20. I can't quite agree with this since the SFL rearranging to 4 x 10 wasn't on the agenda in Feb 1991 and Leishman had been gone for a full year and a half by the time Baltacha was appointed by Caley. I do, however, think that the Baltacha appointment had a lot to do with the merger which by that time (June 93) had been launched as a project by INE and the SFL had decided to rearrange. 4x10 may not have been on the agenda but both Big Jock and Leishman were looking to the future and an Inverness United team. I am sure you will remember most off the local press going with this. I really think this was Jock being Jock and using his knowledge and inside info from SFA towers that plans were afoot. Sadly Leishman was a complete waste of space and more interested in local bars and hospitality! My favourite quote at the time was in an editorial in the P&J: Thistle, a club with a club which has always had ambitions to move into senior football.........Thistle, therefore have stolen a march on their great local rivals Caledonian and one can be certain that they will not take the challenge lying down. It took Caley a year and a half then to rise to the challenge!
  21. Is it not only 2 players that signed having played with Brew before? Proctor and Byrne? I dont see that as jobs for the boys in the first place, 2 out of 7 or 8 signing? i dont think it is jobs for the boys but he clearly signed 2 players who were not rated at the clubs from which they came. Proctor was slated at UTD and Byrne, well who has not slated him, but he will be given a chance I am sure. The jobs for the boys at ICT as always been backroom and has happened since day one. If you face fitted with Dougie M, you were in ( my family included I guess) but it was a board that did work hard but was never going to take us to the SPL. Then under David S, it was certainly if your face fits and they certainly enjoyed (enjoy) the pampering at Ibrox and Celtic Park. Sadly it has always been the case that some of the lesser "boys" have had to much of a say in matters at the club!
  22. Caley only appointed SB to try and get some media limelight back from Thistle after we had appointed Leishman. We appointed him in Feb 18th 1991 and to me that was the first step towards ICT. This was the first shot in the "we will go it alone" bids. Once Leish left Caley made their play and yes for politics, after the merger CT kept SB. In the words of a great man, SB was inept!
  23. Great start, lets see how we go week in week out. Great interview from TB as well. Funny and passionate about the cause. Well done all.
  24. Busiest club in Scotland. Signed more than Chelsea as well. We needed to be but why has it taken until Jan? Why did we not do this at the begining of the season?
  25. Shortly after his father celebrated twenty years as manager of Manchester United, Darren followed him into football management. On 20 January 2007 he left Wrexham to become player-manager of fellow League Two side Peterborough United. Previous manager Keith Alexander had been sacked after a run of six straight defeats.[6] He led the club to a 10th placed finish in his first season of management. In his first full season of management, he took Peterborough to second place in League Two, thus gaining them promotion. He was named League two manager of the month for March 2008, after they won six games out of eight in the month. Ferguson had led them to the top of the league, with a run of thirteen wins and three draws in sixteen games. In November 2008, Darren said that if current Manchester City boss Mark Hughes was axed, Darren would step in and take the job- this would make him and his dad Sir Alex Ferguson, who is the current Manchester United boss, arch- rivals Not bad for a 36 year old manager at a club with little money! If you dont ask you dont get!!!! I know it is unlikely but at least it would have brought the club even more realistic attention than Ozzy.
