Who's Your Candidate?
Any real fan knows that even if Robbo did want the job, as long as David Sutherland has a say so on the goings on he would never in hell allow him to come back. I voted Terry Butcher. I would love to see him at TCS. Get him on a 6 month deal and if he saves us great!! I think a quick fix is needed at the moment and then the real search can begin in the summer when the season is over. And to be fair to him he done a great job considerin the financial difficulties that 'Well were expierencing at the time he took the helm and even took them to the 2005 Scottish cup final even if they did get humped 5-1 by the teddy bears. With the smallest of budgets i think he could be the one to get us out of this pile of ***** that brewster has left us in and maybe even take us to new heights if he had the chance. Im sure he must have picked up a few contacts that would be able to recommend cheap but very effective players that would give some serious competition for places in the side.

New manager thread (merged)
I'm not sure we should go back to the past to find our new manager giving what that has done for us lately. How do we know that Robbo is definately the man to guide us out of this and get us to stay up. And yes i know he kept Derry City up and won them a trophy in the same season but the scottish game is a much harder league. At the end of the day the Manager picks the team and makes the changes that he feels need to be made and when. But it is also down to the players attitude and in the recent home games iv seen (apart fae part-time thistle) some of them just dont seem interested in wanting to win the game. I feel we should get someone who has never managed us before but is expierenced in management in the SPL. If the rumours going about that Terry Butcher has been waiting in the wings since Xmas is true, i would be delighted with him becoming the temporary manager and then at the end of the season, see how he gets on and if we have stayed up then get him on a long term contract.

BREWSTER SACKED
Yes great news at last. Hopefully the new manager will sell that useless barstad Barrowman and bring in a dencent striker. Lets hope this will spell the beginning of us retaining our SPL status

Brewster or the Board!
cant we just sack both the board and the manager? :thumb04: :018:

"WE'LL KEEP SIGNING"
2 or 3 more players would be suffice specially in midfield/striker areas to get more competition for the lads but surely after this has been achieved then the board would say enough is enough wages wise?

Man City
Personally i think City new owners were daft to come out and say what thier personal wealth is. This is only going to result in other clubs to up thier asking price for players that they are interested in because they know that if City wanted them then they would pay almost anything if they thought it would help the team. Was just reading Robbo Robson's blog on the Beeb website and have chosen a few points that he has made. "There are people all over Europe chewing on bits of wood and wondering where their next job might come from, not to mention the people who scrape by every day regardless of credit being crunched, and this fella who's bought Man City is chucking his cash around with all the care of a cat de-feathering a sparrow. I tell you, it's vomit-inducing." or even this one: "I'm with Shearer on this one - if the Abu Dhabi lobby do handpick a clump of galacticos it'll last for five years max, they'll get bored, everyone'll scuttle off for their retirement jobs at somewhere less freaky and City fans will be left pining for the days of Big Mal and Peter Swales and paying heaps for Steve Daley and Kevin Reeves." No one should be getting paid the 160k a week that Robinho is on let alone the half million that Kaka has been reportedly offered for kicking a Pig's Bladder about,no matter how bloomin good they are with it @ thier feet, when other professions, like surgeons, doctors, firemen or policemen, who actually do a job that helps benefit the public are on a hell of alot less a year.

We don't need a new Striker?
i would say that we dont need one if the clown was playing Rooney week in week out. He seems to be the only striker we have who is actually capable of scoring a few goals if he gets the right level of service to him instead of the "tried and trusted" hoof it up an hope for the best. Barrowman i think could maybe be the player who is capable of coming off the bench and scoring if he gets the right help and guidance which he is clearly not going to get under Brewster. Same with Wood but again it comes down to if he gets the right tuition and guidance. But it wouldn't harm any of them if there were a bit of decent competition for places. Im not saying that an expierenced striker would give them this competition but with limited resources and wages blah blah blah i dont feel we could get someone who would give them what they need to lift thier games

Hibs Duo (merged)
its good to see that we are becoming active in the transfer window and i hope that these guys can do the business for us. But if we do get this latvian guy (cant for the heck of me remember his name) and/or steven presslel then surely this was somewhat a waste of what already is a limited resource of wages.

Bring Back Bayne

Swallow Your Pride
Why do you think he will be the best manager we ever had? We went back to the past and allowed this plonker another chance and look hows things have turned out. Just because he had done well back then doesn't mean that he may do as good a job this time round. We should be giving someone else a chance that has never worked for us before. Heck ye never know he might do a much better job than anyone else could.

News Release from Club
i like many others got my hopes up for the wrong reasons due to the title of this topic. I think it is good that they have made a statement amongst all this uncertainty and what not but i am surprised that they are going to give this clown, and that's putting it politely, more money to strengthen the squad. If the current pool of players have lost all faith in his abilities, or lack of them, so what makes the board that if we were to bring in a few faces that CB believes will strengthen us going to do? WHEN we lose to motherwell on saturday then surely that will spell the end of the road for CB. If not then i for one shall not be attending any games untill this circus has ended.

Brewsters Replacement
When brewster does finally decide he aint up to the job who would you like to replace him. I think maybe Terry Butcher or Maurice Malpas. Thoughts?
-
Get Rid Of This Idiot Now!
why is it the board still think he is the right man for the job? Who the hell in thier right mind plays a 4-5-1 formation in thier own back garden. He should be sacked before the transfer window so that he doesn't waste any more resources at the club
-
Best of luck for saturday
i believe that we can get a point with our recent away form. i think that if celtic had beat aalborg the other night then there would have been a better chance of us winning tommorow. i think that tommorow will, for them anyway, will be to continue their league form that hasn't faulted them since.
