  1. My granny.
  2. Hmmm - don't think it's in the nature of a Scotland International to deliberately throw a game.
  3. Which ones?
  4. Excellent post! The only bit I would take issue with is the bit about promotion. There is always the possibility, admittedly unlikely, that things may pick up and we're up there. Otherwise, spot on!
  5. He wants to stay so sign him. Whatever extra cost to the club probably outweighed by sales of season tickets which otherwise might not be renewed!
  6. Aye ok then, we're a Premiership team. Just happen to be languishing in the Championship for a few years!
  7. Our finances were much healthier then. As a result of gross over-spending during the John Hughes era we are where we are now - a Championship team. That is our current level, until we can find a generous donor.
  8. I know it won't please everybody but we've got to be realistic. Dodds is happy to stay and he's no really that bad. Better the devil you know! Getting somebody new in is risky and probably costly. As mentioned before, Dodds knows the squad, knows what's needed to improve it and I think is a safe bet. There seems to be an expectancy among some supporters that we should be a Premiership team because we once were. We are in fact a Championship team - that is our level - and the occasional foray into the Premiership is not out of the question, although to stay in the top league we would really need a generous benefactor. Get behind Dodds and who knows what'll happen!
  9. Celtic fans all hoping their team will win but putting a wee bet on ICT just to soften the blow!
  10. It's not a polite notice. And YOUR views about who is not welcome at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium are clearly not representative of most fans.
  11. "Polite Notices" are seldom polite!
  12. I might have agreed with you if he'd won a Scottish cap, like Ryan Christie. Of course, we might argue that standards were higher back then!
  13. Started at 2 and as there is still an extremely slight glimmer of hope of making the play-offs, I'm finishing at 2, having reached the dizzy heights of 4 somewhere in between. IHE, I look forward to your final analysis and conclusion, should such things emerge!
  14. In the not-too-distant future Mr. MacGregor might become aware of the folly of pouring millions of pounds into a wee village team for little or no return, and direct his wealth elsewhere. Then where would Ross County be? Just another Gretna. Perhaps the Staggies will be the ones looking for a merger, to prevent a humiliating return to the Highland League!
  15. We've had great expectations before on the back of a flash-in-the-pan sensational result, only to have our hopes dashed. I'm up to a cautious 4 for now.
  16. Up to 2 now, as we currently have a decent record against Ayrshire teams.
  17. Absolutely! Yogi turned a bunch of 2nd rate players into a potent unit that was an absolute joy to watch! (Apologies - off topic)
  18. Still 1 here. We need to start winning for my score to increase. Unfortunately we don't seem to be able to raise our game against the lower teams in the league. (not that there's many below us now!) Except Cove.
  19. Well it wasn't a humping but with a huge incentive to win this one we still managed to lose. That'll be a 1 then, and can't see that changing for the foreseeable.
  20. Just shows what the players are capable of when they choose to rise to the occasion.
  21. When you play a Premiership team you try harder. When you play a wee team you don't bother.
  22. Immediately after the Hamilton drubbing I was probably off the scale, however, having slept on it and considered everything I'm back at 2. Not quite 1 yet but we'll see what happens on Tuesday. Another humping then and I'll be giving up all hope for this season. (All hope for promotion, that is. Hope for avoidance of relegation is another story!)
  23. "Ah'm hurtin'; we're all hurtin.'"
  24. Bearing in mind that a post match-reaction to a pitiful humping might knock a point or 2 off one's score, I would say that after the Queens Park Cup game I'd sunk to a 1, climbing back up to somewhere about the 2 side of between 2 and 3 by the morning of the Livi game - not out of renewed optimism mind you, but more out of a gradual lifting of the Queens Park post-match depression. Similarly, after the Livi game I was away up to 8 but now a more realistic 4 as I realise we're much more likely to raise our game against Livingston than against Hamilton. So to summarise: 2 prior to Livi game 4 now
