  1. All in all though, it's a very sad story of the rise and fall of our club. Wonder if we'll rise again. Or was that it?
  2. Think that was when we WON the Scottish Cup, a few years later!
  3. Footballers Wife. "Oh my!"

Full time. 6-1 Congratulations to the team! Hope this is the beginning of something good.

Just hope we can hang on . . . .

5-1 for us!!! Wish I'd gone to the game now.
  7. Sadly the most effective protest is happening right now - consistently poor performances on the pitch lead to falling attendances in the stands. Less income for the club - insufficient funds to keep good players. It seems to me the solution is a more entertaining match-day experience, a few wins for example, and a team that is entertaining to watch. That'll draw the punters in! The thing is, we have some very good players, with great individual skills . . . . . . . !
  8. And would you be the super-rich sugar-daddy the team and fans have been craving? Cos somebody would need to pay for all that!!
  9. There were calls last season for Tokely to be given a shot at management, I think as a result of his extremely insightful comments in the press and on ICTV livestream commentaries. Who knows, Tokely and Esson could be the killer combination we need!
  10. An educated and informed member of the forum, he often managed to bring a bit of common sense to a heated discussion. I too enjoyed his posts and he will be greatly missed.
  11. I love this idea, and see it as the only way forward for our ailing team. Unless of course we can snare a sugar-daddy!
  12. The piggy bank is empty and unless some generous, wealthy donor comes along we'll just have to accept that we're at our level. Best chance is to direct our limited resources to nurturing local talent and bringing youth players through the ranks.
  13. Glorified??
  14. Absolute garbage! Total lack of cohesion. Unable to string passes together. Unable to keep possession. Unable to score more than one goal per match, and usually less. No tactics. No fight. And frankly, I don't buy this "huge injury list" thing - that's been the excuse for the last 3 seasons now. Anybody playing for ICT must have achieved a certain standard before getting in the door. The players on the pitch all have the required individual skills - they just don't seem to be working in the same direction. I've been reluctant to criticise so far, but tonight's shambles just tipped me over the edge. We never looked like winning, even when we were one-up. When I pay to see a game I expect some kind of entertainment for my money. This season I just feel I'm being ripped off!
  15. We got what we deserved. So did Accies.
  16. Particularly pleasing to see young LOCAL lads stepping up. Would be great to see ICT in the Premiership in a few years time, challenging for a Euro place with a first team consisting mostly of Highlanders.
  17. Last minute cancellation of plans to travel through to Inverness to see the opening game. Never mind I thought - I'll watch it on ICTV. However it looks like there's no live streaming today. Does anyone know if this service will be resumed this season?
  18. I think the elephant in the room, which very few seem to have noticed, is that we were embarrassingly poor and couldn't string more than 2 passes together. Arbroath were way better than us and adapted to the conditions extremely well. To say they were desperately unlucky is no exaggeration. Just hope we don't embarrass ourselves against St. Johnstone. That said, I am absolutely delighted, and still can't quite believe that we prevailed. Perhaps in the next few days, if we could learn to string a few passes together, keep possession and keep the head, who knows what could happen. We do of course have history in defeating St. Johnstone to win promotion!
  19. Reminds me of when he took over at Inverness. Many supporters were complaining about "tippy-tappy" football but some of us could see that something wonderful was being developed. Automatic promotion for Dunfermline next season I reckon - hopefully we'll already be up!
  20. Exactly! We don't want the win against Arbroath to be just a flash in the pan!
  21. No, not really. But having gone into freefall I don't think there's any great urgency to get us back into promotion contention, so long as we don't get relegated. Welcome to the forum btw - nice, theatrical opening post!
  22. Can't help feeling the club is seeking some sort of financial stability before making the costly push for promotion. Perhaps the Championship is considered a good base camp for now and maybe for the next season or two until the time is considered right. And maybe this season's sole target was to avoid relegation.
  23. Good entertaining second half and that, from a supporters point of view, is what football is all about. Would have been nice to win it but unlike last week, that performance gives me hope!
  24. Me too. I wonder if a Christie/Tokely combination could shore up our rapidly sinking ship at least until the end of the season. Both already employed by the club, and who knows, they might be lethal!
  25. It's really quite astounding that despite our current dire form we're still 3rd in the league table. I just wonder if 39 points is sufficient to avoid the play-offs, as I don't see us getting any more points on the board!
