Good sensible post Harry. I still maintain that if Brew would just give Adam Rooney a decent run in the team then we'd reap the rewards
  2. Yes, must agree with you. Roy McBain has been very good the last 2 or 3 games. Possibly first name on the team sheet just now, hope he keeps it up.
  3. Sh!t! :thumb04: Like it !
  4. Nah, I've not gone into hiding, just really little point in posting. When that thread was started, ICT were about to beat Killie and go 4th. I and a good few others (if you read the whole thread you'll see there were many with me) felt Brewster was getting a hard time from a few and didn't deserve it. I admit Brewster now seems to have lost the dressing room, it didn't appear to be that way to me at the time. I guess I'll have to bow to the anti-Brewster camp's much superior technical football knowledge. Now, I'm away to checkout a few members forum history !

I think football can be made too complicated at times. 4-4-2 is the tried and tested successful formula. 4-4-2 has been the general success story now for over 40 years, I don't think football will find another level of progression. The 3-5-2 was introduced as the next big thing circa early 90's but the big boys eventually dumped it. I don't care what anyone says regarding the 4-5-1 being non-negative if used properly, IT IS NEGATIVE AND DULL AND BORING. IMO you cant beat a proper 4-4-2, with 2 widish midfielders a holder and a more offensive middle man and a striking partnership. As I say football is simple, I remember reading comments from Jim MacLean (Dundee U) saying words to the effect that forget about all the fancy stuff, the vast majority of goals come from a cross from the wing and a header from the big striker !
  6. When it comes to Brewster - what is the difference ? Bayne went cos he was told he wasnt wanted - FACT. Thank you for clearing that up for me IHE. I'd, wrongly, been under the impression that Bayne wanted to return to the central belt for family reasons. Family reasons, that old chesnut As a married man Stevico, the vast majority of the things I do are for "family reasons" eg the wife wants to do them ! :thumb04:

  8. On the subject of Bayne, I thought the world of the guy, although it's fair to say not all ICT fans felt the same. I was speaking to a guy today who was at the QOS V Dunfermline game on Saturday and he said Bayne was superb, never missed a ball in the air. Can anyone remember or confirm if Brewster binned Bayne or did Bayne want to go ?
  9. If I can get away from my work in time I'll be there
  10. Don't think there is a right or a wrong here IHE, you gotta go with how ya feel. Hope your still gonna contribute to the forum cause if no'' I'd miss the craic and the abuse ! ha
  11. So, what you sayin then Johndo....? dya think it's maybe best if Mr Brewster left the club ? :thumb04: Ya see - I cant even bother replying cos even that is feckin boring. Huh..charming ! Well I think yor non post is boring as well ! Most feckin erselicking cnuts would do - as far as I am concerned you are a feckin **** - is that better ? Nah, boring predictable stuff. As you say, you must be too bored to read the posts, because if you did you'd see that I'm not a "erselicker" I'm not particularly pro-Brew, just not part of the clamour to have him removed.

  13. FTAO Scotty I'll no' quote all that lot in order to save some space ! :thumb04: To be honest I can't argue with any of your comments, they're all pretty valid, in particular the fact that Brew the boss is suffering from not having Brew the player. I just feel that Brewster's sacking is perhaps a little premature, but then again I may be wrong I can't pretend that I'm not getting swayed by the majority, however one thing I hate about modern day football is the ridiculously short time managers are given to basically form their own teams at clubs, the Alex Ferguson situation at Man. Utd in '89 springs to mind. The St .Mirren game may not look like a biggie on paper to the average punter but for Brew it's looking like WEMBLEY
  14. Black leaving would be catastrophic, although not entirely surprising. In fairness I suspect a big future is ahead for Blackie.

Can't believe no one has mentioned Stuart Baxter !!!!! :o
  18. Oh man, where are the ostrich smilies. We are currently 10th, we were 9th the season before, 8th the season before that and 7th the season before that ... can you not see the progression? Can you not see the excuses? can you not see he himself is now basically sticking two fingers up at the fans with comments like "The people in the crowd can make their own decisions, I am the manager and i've got to make the decisions for what I see best"? Scott, as I've said before on numerous occasions, I'm not actually totally convinced with Brewster, this time around. Incidently, I was first time around, really thought he took ICT as far as anyone could. It seems though that if one isn't being hypercritical of Brewster on this site, then you're deemed to be a Brewster sympathiser. I'll say again how I feel regarding the situation. ICT are currently sitting in 9th (not 10th as you state), we finished 9th last season we normally finish in 8th, bar season 2005/06 when we got a very creditable 7th (Brewster was in charge for the majority of that season incidently) Yes, I think Brewster has made mistakes this season, personally though I don't think that a sacking is warrented. As well as this he's had to contend with losing the experience of Niculae, Rankin and himself. I feel that given a wee bit more time he'll improve. Incidently I don't hear the clubs fans below us want their managers out e.g. Motherwell with McGhee (who was the popular choice for Scotland manager last year. St.Mirren with Gus Mac Pherson or Billy Reid at Hamilton
  19. Spectre, an extremely sensible well put posting. I've been saying this for a while, I'm not particularly pro- Brewster, but I think he's taking far too much abuse. Our league position has hovered around 8th position for a good few years now and we're STILL there. I think non-ICT folk would laugh at the fact that ICT fans want Brewster out. That saying, I'm not particularly happy with some of Brew's selections/tactics but imo he can't be sacked

I said a couple of months ago that I felt Rooney would be puzzled as to why he wasn't starting more regularly. If he doesn't get a sustained run now, then it truly is astonishing. Rooney is unquestionably the best striker at the club.

Believe it or not I'm not particularly pro the current management but I'm certainly not agin them, but as Ive said before I feel fans have unrealistic expectations of ICT and it's obviously generating disillusionment with Brewster and co. So I had a wee look at the official site, which has a superb statistical section , to see just how bad things were. Here is how things were looking after the club had played 13 games in each of our premier league campaigns. POINTS TOTAL AFTER 13 GAMES. 2008/09...14 2007/08...10 2006/07...19 * 2005/06...14 2004/05...12 * in season 2006/07 ICT, after game 13, went on a 7 game run in which they collected just 2(two) points. So it looks like things are actually slightly better than normal !!
  22. .....and then again if Barry had scored in the last minute, we'd have won !
  23. ....... and I'm not biting. Even the newspaers that I read thought the win was worthy !
