  1. That was almost exactly 4 years ago in the Scottish Cup 3rd round against Brechin. Paul Ritchie in a 5-1 victory. :003:
  2. Ah, so THAT'S why you're called themann4thejob ! :015:
  3. I've been told there's a rumour in a Hearts messageboard that Elliot could be headin' North. Player swap, maybe. Probably a rumour started just for the **** of it, but a rumour none the less. Apparently he was seen chattin' to Brewster in a black Merc :012: Does Brewster drive a black Merc :024:
  4. While I certainly don't want to lose Rankin, I agree that it's the one position we're well covered for. Vigurs does indeed, look an outstanding prospect, and I'd love to see him given more of a chance. Besides, there's Barry, Markus, McBain, Hart......all more than capable of compensating for the loss of Rankin. Apart from Wilson how many of those players have a history of scoring goals though? Okay all Rankin's goals have been from the spot this season but he is always a threat. Hart is not up to standard IMO... I think Paatelainen has the potential to be a more prolific scorer than Rankin. He got 2 in 5 starts last season
  5. I was getting carried away there, I was starting to picture big Niculae struttin his stuff in the premiership or somewhere similar....then your sensible post came along :clapping03: I think your bang on. Niculae looks to be coming onto a game, but he's no' done enough yet to get his big move
  6. Stumbled across this fact whilst looking at last seasons top scorers in the SPL. Only 5 midfielders managed to score 6 or more league goals :- Nakamura, Gravesen, Charlie Adam, Barry Robson and JOHN RANKIN (no pens) I know ther's no' much we can do, but he's certainly going to be a loss !
  7. From an extremely selfish point of view, I'm actually happy they finished at 3. I've got a good chance of Easter Road next week and therefore be able to witness the goal for myself. :003:
  8. Ay Roscoe, Tokely is an imposter, it makes you wonder why so many bosses-Pele, Robbo, Brewster,Christie- always seem to play him, and why he's played something like 400 times for ICT :024:
  9. I agree with TM4TJ in the respect that there is too much gossip on this one, kind of looks like he'll be offski. It'll be a shame if it's true, I like Rankin, I think he's slotted into the ICT set-up fairly well. I certainly don't think we can afford to let him go without a fight. Having said that though, I've always felt he's lacking in something, I cannae quite put my finger on it, wether it's pace or power I'm not sure. :024: I would stress though I'd be delighted if I heard he was staying.
  10. get yersel up to Sneck saturday and witness the return leg v Grenta. Train from Perth 9:55, arrive Sneck 12:00. Drink on train, drink in Sneck before game, drink in Sneck after game, train from Sneck 18:27, drink on train, arrive Perth 20:50....?20 return + ?15 into game + ?? for drink. How better to have a day out. What ! are you no' having a wee drink in Perth when you get back :015:
  11. I think, to be realistic the magic goal is more likely to come next week at Easter Road or maybe even the following week against Rangers. I've got a feeling it might be Graham Bayne that gets it and I for one wouldn't be delighted for him :022:
  12. I don't have stats on this but I think the last penalty saved was Broonie v. Clyde sometime around about wintertime 2002/03
  13. I wasn't at the game but correct me if I'm wrong, ICT we're told, are playing 4-5-1 with Bayne up front on his own. Well having just watched the very brief highlights, it looked to me that we definately played 4-4-2, Niculae most certainly looked to be very much up front.
  14. Aye, Happy New Year folks, all the best to all you posters. My resolution is to get to a b l o o d y game soon, because of work commitments I haven't been able to attend a game THIS SEASON. Consequently I've got out the habit of posting.
  15. Agreed. Nothing surer. If Black leaves of his own accord then fair enough, but if we pushed him out then I'm sure we'd seriously live to regret it.
  16. Cannae agree Harry, Beattie, when injury free, is miles ahead of Thompson, imo.
  17. I thought exactly the same thing, but I think IHE has got written his team the wrong way round. He's put the left side first.
  18. League position in brackets. 1-Celtic..............57 684 (1) 2-Rangers..........49 853 (2) 3-Hearts............16 870 (4) 4-Hibs................14 659 (5) 5-Aberdeen........12 337 (3) 6-Dundee Utd.... 7 081 (10) 7-Kilmarnock...... 6 950 (6) 8-Dunfermline.... 6 241 (12) 9-Motherwell...... 6 136 (9) 10Falkirk............. 5 579 (eight) 11St Mirren......... 5 342 (11) 12Inverness C.T. 4 904 (7) These figures suggest to me the the club is still "over performing" Well done to CC and the team.
  19. Remember back to a good few weeks ago when Dargo and Denzil got injured within a week of one another, and we were all on here saying how difficult the next couple of months were going to be without our 2 recognised goalscorers. We would just have to hope the team could ride it out, we said. Fast forward to a couple of months later....... Sometimes we need wee reminders :004:
  20. Och diddums, the poor wee Hibbies had to play 3 games in 7 days. No clacher I not having that one :018: we hammered them (again) fair and square. Clacher of course you're entitled to criticise but you're even looking for negative points when we get victories :confused01: P.S. were you sitting up the back at Rugby Park ?
  21. I think this part is particulary unfair IHE. As I've mentioned earlier, I thought there was nothing between the teams on Saturday, a Killie fan has come on here and stated that basically we were unlucky and deserved more. The papers I read today were complimentry to ICT, generally stating, again, that we were unlucky. I just wondering, you know how you remark words to the effect that some of your fellow members are seeing things through their "CC protection society" viewpoint and unable to offer an unbiased slant. Well could your viewpoint be clouded by the opposite ? Before you start giving me the IHE rant :003: I do realise you're not particulary anti-CC. :hiding01: stats from Daily record... POSSESSION Killie 58% ICT 42% SHOTS ON TARGET Killie 7 ICT 4 SHOTS OFF TARGET Killie 4 ICT 2 CORNERS 6 6 FOULS CONCEDED 10 15 OFFSIDES 5 1 I was at game and Killie deserved win. We dominated first half and went 3-1 up and had many chances. You got a goal early second half and had to go for it to get top 6, but I never felt in any great danger, particularly after Black was hooked for the second time this season at RP. After the game we could not think of another player who has been removed twice in one season before being sent off! Flood, you quote the Daily Record stats.I notice you don't mention the Daily Record report, :024: it clearly says "Caley Thistle were worth a share of the spoils" You say you didn't feel in any great danger in the second half ! Killie did very little in the second half, ICT had a couple of really decent chances in the 2nd half, we deserved a draw.

  23. I agree with you. That's all three games between our sides that I have seen this year, and you're right - Killie essentially have got the breaks. ICT should have won at Rugby Park back in September, and the reason why they didn't escapes me. We were lucky. The game at Inverness - well 4-3 what can you say? What a game, and again we were lucky. Same thing yesterday - I thought ICT eventually ran out of time and had Killie camped in their own half at the end. Our two teams always give us exciting matches when they meet. Killie have pipped it this season. You'll get your turn over us, I'm sure of it. That's football. Good luck for the rest of the season. Cheers for the honest assesment Warwickboy. You're right our clubs do serve up good encounters when they meet. I warn you though, Immortal Howden Ender will accuse you of being a member of "The Charlie Christie Protection Society" :015: Good luck in the Cup Final.
