  1. I wasn't at the game but correct me if I'm wrong, ICT we're told, are playing 4-5-1 with Bayne up front on his own. Well having just watched the very brief highlights, it looked to me that we definately played 4-4-2, Niculae most certainly looked to be very much up front.
  2. Agreed. Nothing surer. If Black leaves of his own accord then fair enough, but if we pushed him out then I'm sure we'd seriously live to regret it.
  3. Cannae agree Harry, Beattie, when injury free, is miles ahead of Thompson, imo.
  4. I thought exactly the same thing, but I think IHE has got written his team the wrong way round. He's put the left side first.
  5. League position in brackets. 1-Celtic..............57 684 (1) 2-Rangers..........49 853 (2) 3-Hearts............16 870 (4) 4-Hibs................14 659 (5) 5-Aberdeen........12 337 (3) 6-Dundee Utd.... 7 081 (10) 7-Kilmarnock...... 6 950 (6) 8-Dunfermline.... 6 241 (12) 9-Motherwell...... 6 136 (9) 10Falkirk............. 5 579 (eight) 11St Mirren......... 5 342 (11) 12Inverness C.T. 4 904 (7) These figures suggest to me the the club is still "over performing" Well done to CC and the team.
  6. Remember back to a good few weeks ago when Dargo and Denzil got injured within a week of one another, and we were all on here saying how difficult the next couple of months were going to be without our 2 recognised goalscorers. We would just have to hope the team could ride it out, we said. Fast forward to a couple of months later....... Sometimes we need wee reminders :004:
  7. Och diddums, the poor wee Hibbies had to play 3 games in 7 days. No clacher I not having that one :018: we hammered them (again) fair and square. Clacher of course you're entitled to criticise but you're even looking for negative points when we get victories :confused01: P.S. were you sitting up the back at Rugby Park ?
  8. I think this part is particulary unfair IHE. As I've mentioned earlier, I thought there was nothing between the teams on Saturday, a Killie fan has come on here and stated that basically we were unlucky and deserved more. The papers I read today were complimentry to ICT, generally stating, again, that we were unlucky. I just wondering, you know how you remark words to the effect that some of your fellow members are seeing things through their "CC protection society" viewpoint and unable to offer an unbiased slant. Well could your viewpoint be clouded by the opposite ? Before you start giving me the IHE rant :003: I do realise you're not particulary anti-CC. :hiding01: stats from Daily record... POSSESSION Killie 58% ICT 42% SHOTS ON TARGET Killie 7 ICT 4 SHOTS OFF TARGET Killie 4 ICT 2 CORNERS 6 6 FOULS CONCEDED 10 15 OFFSIDES 5 1 I was at game and Killie deserved win. We dominated first half and went 3-1 up and had many chances. You got a goal early second half and had to go for it to get top 6, but I never felt in any great danger, particularly after Black was hooked for the second time this season at RP. After the game we could not think of another player who has been removed twice in one season before being sent off! Flood, you quote the Daily Record stats.I notice you don't mention the Daily Record report, :024: it clearly says "Caley Thistle were worth a share of the spoils" You say you didn't feel in any great danger in the second half ! Killie did very little in the second half, ICT had a couple of really decent chances in the 2nd half, we deserved a draw.

  10. I agree with you. That's all three games between our sides that I have seen this year, and you're right - Killie essentially have got the breaks. ICT should have won at Rugby Park back in September, and the reason why they didn't escapes me. We were lucky. The game at Inverness - well 4-3 what can you say? What a game, and again we were lucky. Same thing yesterday - I thought ICT eventually ran out of time and had Killie camped in their own half at the end. Our two teams always give us exciting matches when they meet. Killie have pipped it this season. You'll get your turn over us, I'm sure of it. That's football. Good luck for the rest of the season. Cheers for the honest assesment Warwickboy. You're right our clubs do serve up good encounters when they meet. I warn you though, Immortal Howden Ender will accuse you of being a member of "The Charlie Christie Protection Society" :015: Good luck in the Cup Final.
  11. It's only fair on McCaffrey that he get's the chance to gel with Munro. Therefore I agree :003:
  12. First things first I'm pro-Christie, as most of you will be aware, but messageboards are all about giving your opinion and I think on hindsight CC was just a tad to bold with the formation. I said last week that I wanted to see Paatelainen get a start at Killie but I feel he should have been up front with Bayne, John Rankin would have been in midfield left. Having said that the way things have been going we'd probably have been beaten 0-1, better being beaten in an attacking style than a negative one. It does go to show you though that many fans beg to see a more attacking swashbuckling formation than we tend to use. We should remember though that Inverness have got where they are today by playing as a tight unit. Other things:- I agree with IHE regarding McSwegan, didn't impress me at all. I agree with Harry on the evenly matched teams bit though, there was very little in it
  13. Juanjo scored in his first START in 04-05. Although like Paatelainen he had made a sub appearence. Going back to the first season Bruce McCraw and a guy by the name of J. MacDonald both scored on their debuts.
  14. Wilson Robertson in the first game :003:
  15. The team was generally more attack minded than normal with the 2 strikers (Bayne and McSwegan) supported be basically 2 wingers (Wilson and Paatelainen). The midfield would normally be narrower. Grant Munro though was badly missed.
  16. Yeah I saw a man and woman having a meeting with a security boss at half time down at the entry gates. I hadn't noticed the young guy getting chucked out, therefore I wasn't aware why there was heated debate between fans and stewards, I was though, obviously aware there was bad feeling going on. Meanwhile back at the game :- Yeah Sutherland looked really good, let's hope he's given a real chance, now that there's little to play for. Paatelainen too looked very promising, McAllister was much more vibrant when he came on but Gary McSwegan struggled to make much impact. All in all, ICT didn't appear to be the same unit that normally hits the road, the very hard to break down team. I would put that down to the positive formation that CC picked. Possibily led to a better match than we might normally get but just shows you, picking an attacking side, takes away the stability defensivly. Then again I might be wrong :003:
  17. I too feel Valencia will do it. David Villa is probably the most lethal striker in Europe the noo. Ayala is a phenominal defender and once Joaquin settles in he'll do the job.
  18. Stevie replied to Eye Settee's topic in Caley Thistle
The change over from Brown to Fraser has gone without a hitch,(in typical ICT style) which speaks volumes for the player and the management.
  19. I'll predict:- Fraser. Tokely, Dods, McCaffery, Hastings. Wilson, Duncan, Black, Rankin. Bayne, Paatelainen. I think Marcus has looked decent enough in his brief appearences to deserve a start.
  20. I think we're back to the same old story. Every club has got the moaners the types who moan like **** when their team isn't playing beautiful football and when their team is playing beautiful football then they go quiet. We are all different, some think that by paying admission money they are entitled to shout criticism at their players. Personally I prefer to SUPPORT my team,by that I mean basically cheer them on. ANYONE WHO HAS PLAYED SPORT AT A COMPETITIVE LEVEL WILL CONFIRM THAT SUPPORT FROM THE SIDELINES PROVIDES YOU WITH A LITTLE BIT EXTRA, like a boost of adreniline if you like. ON THE OTHER HAND CRITICISM FROM THE SIDELINES HAS A NEGATIVE EFFECT ON A PLAYER. It's a pity boo boys can't appreciate this. As regards CC and the players, as far as I'm concerned their basically performing to their full potential. I would think under the circumstances it would be almost impossible for them to hit another level e.g. becoming a regular top six club at this stage. Well done CC and the team, keep up the good work !!!!
  21. Thats former Scotland player Lee Wilkie
  22. A big favourite of mine. The big fellow gives his all, the amount of balls he blocks is incredible. A great player for ICT.
  23. Nonsense. Don't get me wrong I think Dargo is a fine striker but we can most certainly cope without him. We've had some fine performances whilst he's been out, Rangers at Xmas being a prime example.
  24. Agree 100% Harry. :021: Bayne is a big favourite of mine, and great to see him playing so well just now. I know that Dargo and Wyness had a great spell last season but for me our strike force has always (unless Bayne is seriously off form) got to be Bayne and 1 of the aforementioned.
  25. Well I ain't blaming anybody. To me that was no more than bloody unlucky ! If anything I think the management and players should be commended for their continuing progress that they're making at the club !
