FRIDAY'S COURIER
David Sutherland had done this weeks press conference and the main points are as follows: (especially for those of you who are outwith the Courier circulation) John Rankin - No increased offer will be made, but the current offer remains on the table until he decides what he wants to do. Players In/Out - The board have agreed a buget and CC will have money both to offer better terms to the players and to bring in 2 or 3 new faces if required. Brewster admits that he wants some of our players as they played well for him, but he has to get rid of some of his dead wood first before he can look into it. David Sutherland's response. 'They like it here, are treated well and are happy in their work, so why would they leave all that behind for the cauldron that is Tannadice?' :003: Well Said Further good news: Flight charters have been investigated for either Intertoto or European summer training camp. Spare seats might be made available to fans to travel with the team. A very sensible idea and I'm sure it would be a popular one.

Season Tickets
I think that there may be an announcement on Monday regarding season tickets. There were one or two things to consider which would affect the pricing. I think that the board have agreed figures now, but one or two minor issues to resolve before an announcement can be made.

Gretna Documentary
Read an article this morning online somewhere that the only player they have paid money for this season was Steve Tosh and that was only £20,000. They haven't paid big money for players but they do earn good money and it looks like they are in for a mega bonus. He said that he never tells them what their bonus will be as they trust him to do well by them. TIMES ARTICLE HERE Mileson believes his team — the first one from the third tier of Scottish football to reach the cup final — can grow even more but he tires of the label that Gretna have bought their way to two success. “That pisses me off,” Mileson said. “Rowan does not get the credit he deserves. This cup final side has only had one player in it that we’ve paid cash for and that was £20,000 to Aberdeen for Steven Tosh. We have brought in Alan Jenks and Martin Canning [from Stranraer and Ross County] with an eye to next season.

Gretna Documentary
Just watched it as I was working last night. The really are a revelation. Good luck to them. Another spooky moment though - what was the name of the programme that followed - LITTLE ANGELS. A programme about a family with triplets. :001:

Worst Player Of the Year
Best form of defence is attack. Rather than delete the thread, I think everyone has dealt with it well. I agree, there are no worst players. They are a team and they work as a team. I know of one player who gets pelters from the support, but he is very much appreciated by the team. Not every player can be a Dargo and score 20 goals a season, but they all have a job to do and do it well.

Best Pundit this season?
Richard Gordon/Gordon Smith

Is the Highland divide getting wider?
David Sutherland talked about the prospect of an SPL 2, but felt that the idea was dead on it's feet as the SFL were expected to vote against it. The idea was for the more ambitious 1st division clubs to make the move up a step, but it's not looking likely

Car Park again!
That is a huge part of the problem Kingsmills, but efficient stewarding would control that. If they realised there were no shortcuts, they would then wait their turn. As I said I was 3rd car in a line and when I looked in my rear view mirror there were no cars behind me as they had all been allowed to peel off into a line which was moving and therefore holding back the patient people even longer. The stewards need to have a system to deal with this. Simple cones and tape would help. Also if the ones who tried to take the shortcuts were held back, they would wait their turn next time. I can see a career change on the horizon. :015:

Gretna Documentary
I'm working but I'll definitely tape it. I spoke to Brooks Mileson again on Friday and he really is a top guy. His attitude is second to none. Turning down an invite by Vladimir Romanov to go to Tynecastle because he has to feed his animals. Excellent. As usual he will be with the fans on Saturday - he just won't do the director/suit thing. Shows he is in it from the heart rather than for any hidden agenda. I have had to phone the club a few times for tickets etc and the staff are all the same, they love the club and their jobs within it. They are all footie fans and are really friendly. Really refreshing. I hope they don't lose that as they come through the ranks, because if I'm honest that's what I think we have lost at ICT.

Intertoto back on??
Thanks Caley D. Everyone seems surprised by this revelation, but it has always been the case. There should be at least one extra place now and a couple of extra places at the 2nd round stage, which is where we were entering anyway. So not dead in the water yet.

Gretna Ticket on Ebay!!
Probably a bit more realistic

Gretna Ticket on Ebay!!
LOL We are going to hand over a cheque to Brooks Mileson for the childrens hospice appeal, we would be better staying home and selling on the tickets. :015: :015: Think it will be a great day out - can't wait. Hope you get a ticket
-
Gretna Ticket on Ebay!!
The bad news is that I have your ticket, and if they are going for £5,000 you've no chance of getting it. lol

Gretna Ticket on Ebay!!
Must be fake, but if it's real I've got 28 Gretna tickets. :021: :021:

Highland March 4 - Day One Report
Well done to him. I must admit I could think of better ways of having fun, but I suppose 'whatever floats your boat' Well done Yompa. Hot on the heels of Team Gringo. Never doubted him for a minute. A true Nutter.

Mark Brown over looked AGAIN
I posted this on the Kirin Cup thread, but Ian Turner is only a reserve keeper so he isn't even playing 1st team football

Kirin Cup 2006
Smith has called up Manchester United's Darren Fletcher, who has made a quick recovery from a knee injury, and Everton reserve keeper Iain Turner. What does Broonie have to do. The Everton reserve keeper - if it wasn't a slap in the face being missed out the first time - then what must he think now. What is Walter Smith thinking about. The above if from then bbc site

Pars Roll Call
Sorry not me. I haven't been to Dunfermline yet and this would have been a good time to go, but I have to work. :( :( :( Would have been good to welcome the marchers too.

Where are team Gringo stopping tonight?

Highland March 4 - Day One Report
He's doing well then. Fair play to him. Good luck for the rest of the trip. He can't be very far behind the others now then if they were leaving from Ballinluig this morning.

Car Park again!
Buses don't get me there on time for Alan

We're fifth in the league and you're no
Rangers Celtic Hearts and Hibs are apparently trying to reduce it back to 10 teams, but with the new voting system there only needs to be 2 votes to stop a change and that is happening for now. An increased league seems everybody's preferred option.

Jackson on his way
Unfortunately he suffered a nasty injury to his knee at the last reserve game he played in. Could be out for a while. He looked quite good in the reserve games, but CC was obviously unsure when he took so long to decide whether or not to give him a contract. Dundee Utd maybe??

Hearts v Gretna Ticket - WANTED!!!!
