  1. Just finished reading all the comments as this is the first time on the forum this weekend. I was speaking with one of those ejected from the stadium in the Ines after the game. I said "I wouldn't be at all surprised if this was not an attempt by a certain person at ICT to sabotage the 'Singin Section'!" I was too far away to actually witness the fiasco but was alerted by the boos that some people were being ejected and thought they must have done something really terrible to deserve such treatment. It does happen to us at other grounds - Killie and D. Utd being classic examples. At our last game at Killie we were only about 200 strong and had a whole stand to ourselves but one steward in particular - an Orc if ever I saw one - kept on at one particular lad to sit down. It was only the intervention of his (the young lads) mother that prevented his ejection from the ground. I had words with the police myself about how we never caused any real trouble and just wanted to enjoy ourselves and he said there was a Killie Jobsworth Chief Steward in the stand opposite wi' a pair of binoculars and a 2-way radio who was dictating things and he agreed we were causing no harm at all. There are double standards in operation at every ground where the home supporters and the OF away fans(?) are allowed to stand. Unfortunately, as relative new boys to the SPL, the ICT management seem to worry too much about the behaviour of our own loyal fans than other clubs. I, too would like to see the back of Mr Smithbut only because I can't see anything positive he's done for the club with his executive skills. Incidentally, with regard to the 'Singing Section' - where we sit near the front of Section E of the main stand we could hardly hear anything different to a normal Saturday crowd. We could hear the Pars fans because they mostly all sang in unison. We don't do this even at away games! What we need is more songs and/or chants and we need to spread the scripts out to all areas. As i said to IHE after the game we need to take into consideration the make up of the main stand fanbase. Upper section B is mostly 'die hard sweetie rustlers' who have had their season tickets for this area since year one. Lower sections B and C is a mixed bag of fans fronted by the WAGS and friends but does contain some noise-makers including one particular Lady who's never been known to be stuck for words. Section D is normally very vociferous and certain members do their level best to get things going. Lower sections E and F is again a mixed bag including the remains of last years family section but with no real choir master to get things moving. The upper levels of sections C, D, E, and F are mostly Corporate and we can't expect any singing or chanting from them. Hope I didn't lose most of you a few paragraphs ago. I do go on a bit sometimes. I wish I knew the answer to making the atmosphere at home games better but I'm willing to try anything except move my seat near the away dug-out where sometimes the 'banter' is brilliant. PS RIG et al - txt spk ll ruin t Eng lngage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :015: :015:
  2. An' I'm no laughin' either. This was a sad day for highland football. relegation is no fun for any fan or club unless they're going from the Premiership to the Championship and picking up £20 million from Sky on the way.
  3. Good enough, Mantis, but I see you missed the Blues Brothers last Thursday. Now, that was a GIG!

    Rory

Why? He's a flippin Jessie! Methinks he flatters to deceive. I honestly don't rate him and after last Tuesday he should be consigned to the under 12's where he might have a chance of taking a tackle - BUT I don't think so.
  5. Don't forget the defence Mee. Ally Rdgers didn't have much to trouble him, mainly because Jamie Duff, Guy Kerr and Alex Macdonald were so cool and controlled. Made the Gers attack look like boys against men. Of course, Rossco was his usual self. Have we missed anyone between us? Oh aye. Stuart Soane had a good game and Gary McSwegan was no bad. But, oh dear, Jessie MacAllister needs to get a grip. He played like the back end of a panto horse - nae brains and nae guts - and ah've seen an oil tanker wi' a smaller turning circle. :015: :015:
  6. Smee said - "I would define an Invernessian as an individual born and raised in the town/city. And no....an "incomer from Aviemore or Alness" could not be classed as an Invernessian, nor would anyone from anywhere else you mention! No more so than if I moved to London. I wouldnt be considered a Londoner. " Sorry pet, that's bollox. I moved to Inverness when I was six weeks old, otherwise I might have been a Morton supporter or worse - a Hun or a Tim. I was brought up in the Merkinch and Hilton (old), spent 7 years in the Merkinch primary school and 6 in the Academy. I am and always have been an Invernesian. You can't define someone by where they were born or brought up. That would make Sir Cliff Richards an Indian!!!!!!!!!! And don't forget that Alness has more weegies than any other town in the North.
  7. Thanks for putting me right boys. As I said my memory ain't what it used to be and even then I found it difficult to tell the difference between Wilson and Callaghan when it came to policies or politics. :023:
  8. Of course it is Johnboy. If you don't believe that then you don't believe in democracy. In this country we permit people of all views including terrorists and racists to express their opinions and I sincerely believe in that right. Otherwise we might as well live in a dictatorship.
  9. CB, don't want to give a history lesson as I can't 100% rely on my memory these days. It's an age thing...... During Harlod Wilson's reign we had a refendum asking us to vote yes or no to basically "Do we want independence or not?". If you voted 'yes' that counted as a yes vote. If you voted 'no' that counted as a no vote. BUT, if you didn't vote at all that also counted as a 'no' vote thereby permitting all the deceased who still had the right to vote the opportunity, whether they wanted it or not, to vote 'NO'. As I recall the vote was very close if you counted the actual votes cast but not if you counted the non-voting public. There was a great fuss at the time about daylight legislative robbery by the English barstewards ( at the risk of upsetting the anti-racist brigade). Perhaps with your links to press archives you will be able to verify or otherwise my assertion.
  10. I would tend to agree with this on the whole - although I would perhaps adjust it to say that there is no problem with 99.9% of ICT supporters as we do have a few neanderthals too. I have seen it with my own eyes and heard it with my own ears. Please Scotty, now you're making racist assumptions about neanderthals. To the best of my knowledge there is absolutely no evidence available to justify that! Seriously, though, while I would defend to the death Sophia's right to express her opinions regarding racism I would also defend to the death any racist's right to express their opinions as long as it is done in a reasoned manner and does not descend into personal abuse. As for abusive bile on this forum, there has been far more expressed against Ross County fans than there ever has been against other races be they Afro, Afro Carribean, Indian, Pakistani, Japanese or even, dare I say it English or American. We all have our opinions and we're entitled to hold them and to express them - as long as we are prepared to accept the consequences. If you don't like someone's actions, tell them!

Good try Alex. one out of three.

OK. For all you fans:- What was the name of Minnie Caldwell's cat? Who was the third member of the tirumverate of Ena Sharples, Minnie Caldwell and.....................................? who played Emily's first husband?
  13. How can they call that a golf course? Ther's nae sand, nae maram grass, nae rough tae speak of, the fairways are wide and ye'd be better off playin snooker on the greens. Send them all off tae play a round at Reay an' see who wins then. :015: :015: :015:
  14. "OK CB. So you're biased against drunks of any persuasion - Scots Austro; Austro - French; - Italo - Anything................... Or maybe just any sort of drunk? TBH - who gives a f**k as long as the bledddy English don't prevail! As a well known besotted scottish sott, I don' care who won the soi-disant 'battle of culloden' as long as I didn lose an the winners buy the drinks, wgaf. 16th April is ours to celebrate an f*ck the rest. If there's any ghosts there, they're ours an we should be the ones celebrating a glorious loss - just like tonight in Bari! PS. If Fritz can find fault wi' my English I'll do a thousand lines." My God. Did I really write that? Just shows what an effect two bottles of red can have on the memory. TBH, I don't care a **** for history, whether it was Scotland versus England or Pape against Proddy or even us against them. All I really want is the right to choose for Scotland without any interference from our neighbours in the South or even the crowd over the Manche. I'm fed up of voting only to find out that 'British' politicians have robbed us yet again of the right to decide our own destiny like Harold Bloody Wilson who rigged things so that even the dead had a vote against us. Aye, and sometimes it's even wirsells who rob us - just watch what Gordie Broon gets up tae. Now, I admit that the way I feel has nothin to do wi 'thinkin clearly and logically' But ma hert says feck them all. And to return to the original theme, F82K, feck yer TV company if they think they can keep us away from Culloden.

    Alan Morgan

Went to Dingwall tonight to cheer on our friends there. Morgan played whole game - 1st half as left back and 2nd half in left midfield. Played well enough for first game in a while. Put in some telling crosses and some very good tackles. He seemed to fade after about 75 minutes so maybe not 100% match fit. Our other boy (Cowie) had a poor game IMO. Thought he didn't really want to be there. One or two good moves but nothing much came off for him. Two or three others there tonight - Barry Wilson and Graham Bayne sat two rows behind me and I'm sure I saw Rory outside the ground. Hope Alan settles in for the next month and comes back to us ready for the pre-season warm up games.
  16. I'd like to say a very sincere "SORRY" I held you all up and made us late for the kick off. I know it must have spoilt your day 'cos it sure as **** spoilt mine. The result made up for it. So, why did it happen? 1. I didn't want to take the car to Glasgow. 2. I thought it would be easy to park near teh bus station. 3. Every car park I tried had a 3 hour max stay. 4. The navigator got us lost going to the Park and Ride 5. Who could have forecast the delay at the road works? Anyway, sorry again. Got to Edinburgh ok on Saturday night. Had a great time at the Kris Kristofferson concert and got to meet Mrs Mantis.
  17. OK CB. So you're biased against drunks of any persuasion - Scots Austro; Austro - French; - Italo - Anything................... Or maybe just any sort of drunk? 18. Surprised no-one's mentioned Kevin James at St J as a replacement for Dods. If you think Caff can fill the position I think you're way off the mark. I really don't want Gretna to be promoted but if the Saints don't make it players may become available. Fingers crossed. Mantis - 51? Aye right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. well, if there's only four of us there should be plenty room for our names. :015: :015: :015:
  20. "Culloden Battlefield is just a team event no public" Aye right, F92K, says who? It's my birthday on the 16th and no bleddy English TV company is gonnae stop me from going there! They may tak oor lives but..........................
  21. Hi Buffy. Great to meet you and all the others. Thanks for your company on Saturday. The comfort of the box wis all very well but it'll never take the place of freezin yer goolies in the front of the main stand. L_G, Thanks fro Friday night. Honestly thought there would be more hairy highlanders there. I'll never forget the look on those guys faces as I stepped out of the pink limo followed by 7 or 8 gorgeous wimmen.
