Aberdeen -V- Inverness CT
Some Saint Johnstone fans I follow on Twitter were talking about some of their fans (the Perth Pack ) who were starting on OAP ICT fans and trying to challenge people on the bus to a fight so it seems quite likely it was away fans you saw that day @Row S. EDIT: Apologies they are not called the Perth Pack. They are called FCU or Fair City Unity...

Plenty of other fans try and get behind the side. You're not the only guys starting chants. As I say I like what you guys do and I can't say that I saw much wrong with what you guys were doing on Saturday which seemed to be the fault of the stewards acting completely out of proportion. But cut the sanctimonious attitude and thinking you're better than everyone else because you sing a few songs.

No you aren't. I think what you guys do is great in trying to create an atmosphere at matches but there are plenty of other folk who go to games who try and get behind the team. You're not the only ones trying to generate an atmosphere. As for Saturday hopefully you guys make some sort of complaint to Aberdeen about the way the stewards behaved. I doubt they would have acted the same way if it were Rangers or Celtic fans goading the home support.

Aberdeen -V- Inverness CT
Not convinced that we should have had a foul for the opening goal. At the game I never saw what happened and from the highlights it looks like Polworth pretty much falls over. Regardless, it was sloppy by Vigurs to then get caught on the ball as he did and Aberdeen were still a fair distance from goal anyway so as much as the players looked to blame Allan I don't think we covered ourselves in glory anyway. I did wonder if Rooney was perhaps offside what with the new rules on this but meh. Cracking equaliser from Vigurs. As alternative maryhill mentioned I was also desperate for him to be subbed as he was really poor again. Slack passes, minimal effort trying to win the ball back and then he goes and does that. Just wish he would apply himself a bit more because he is talented but just doesn't seem to care a lot of the time. Interesting interactions between our fans and the stewards. I've no idea what happened or what was said but after Aberdeen scored their fans gave our support a fair bit of stick. No issue with that. The Vigurs goal obviously gave us a chance to give it back which we did and a few lads seemed to get chucked out on the back of this. I did spot a steward go flying and there seemed to be some chat that he was pushed over but also that he was shoving some of the young kids as well. Bit of a mess to say the least! Good performances from Tansey and Draper I thought. Our best player was probably McKay. He was out of position a couple of times in the first half but for the most part he seemed comfortable at right back, gave some good support down the flank and linked well with Polworth. Doran also looked quite tidy when he came on as well. I'd like to see us play with a proper right winger ahead of McKay or Horner because Polworth was always cutting inside and didn't really give much support to McKay at RB when he did get forward. A lot of the time our ventures down that side saw the ball played back infield to find a team mate rather than continue the attack down the wing and try and get a cross in for the likes of Fisher or Doumbouya to attack.

Aberdeen (A) 10/09/16
So you want to drop Horner for Raven, who hasn't played well at all this season, and yet you think other posters are picking players on sentiment? Seems to be exactly what you are doing here. Horner might not have had a flawless game the other week but in that one game he was infinitely better than anything we have seen from Raven this year. Also, Draper was superb playing just behind the striker against Saints but you want to drop him further back? Bit odd to me. The other week was one of our best performances of the season (not that that would be difficult in fairness) so I doubt we'll see many changes to personnel or how they are lined up.

According to Twitter reports Meekings won't be signing a new deal just now and wants to concentrate on his football. Sounds familiar...

You still get that now with green dots unless you have turned off notifications. Don't think it does the same for red dots however.

Absolute shocker from JD Sports / Cabrini here. Hopefully the club will getting them absolutely telt and next season we will see a more reliable kit supplier on board.

[merged] : John Hughes Interview (BBC)
There's a number of things I was going to pick you up on from your post but this is perhaps the most bizarre. Under Hughes last season almost 40% of the goals we conceded came in the last 15 minutes of games. I can't recall the exact number of points we lost because of those late goals but I think it was between 12 - 18 (I'd need to double check). I wouldn't say that's the mark of a side who is supposedly fitter or less tired than their opposition. All too often we were sitting far too deep defending slight leads and we were punished for it.

Do a poll? Option two for me although it might introduce 'revenge dotting' I guess.

Advice on where to sit at first Caley Thistle game?
There is an unofficial signing section in the North Stand, Section E. A bunch of young kids do their best to get the crowd going and usually sit down the front of that section. Normally games v Celtic are a bit busier due to the larger crowd so they might not be there but that could be a good shout. Another good thing about that area of the ground is that the stewards tend to be a wee bit more tolerant of fans standing (not always however!) If you want a good view of the pitch and aren't too fussed about atmosphere then the Main Stand gives a cracking view of the game. But as you seem to be looking for a bit more noise I think heading for the North Stand is a better option.

Yeah good to see the club making an early start with contracts. Would be great to see Meekings stay on but he is such a talented defender I do wonder how long we can hold on to him. The Tansey situation sounds less promising. "Wanting to focus on his / my football" is basically code for "I'm not intending to sign a new deal" which we've seen plenty of times in the past.

The problem with Hughes in transfer windows was his near constant signing of central midfielders when we simply didn't need them. The team required strengthening in other areas, most notably up front yet he continued to sign more and more (central) midfielders. What Foran has done so far which has impressed fans is that he has signed players for positions we actually need. McNaughton is out so he's gone for McKay to give us some cover. We've needed new strikers pretty much since Mckay left us and now we have a few options up front again. We also have some attacking wingers in the squad now. Yes they might not be players that people have heard of but they are for positions in the team that we actually need. That's why people are happier with this window than previous ones.

I can see Richie (no t) will be the new Mckay (small k).

Completely guessing but I wonder if the club have exercised some kind of clause in the contract whereby it can be cancelled owing to failure to meet the requirements of the contract. We can all be quick to criticise the club but in this case it clearly looks like JD / Cabrini have ballsed up and hopefully ICT have dished out some telt for being let down (and supporters of ICT as well) and cancelled the contract. As I say this is completely guessing but it could also mean the club shop stocking the strips again in future?

Apparently 'Rangers' have signed Senderous (sp.?) so hopefully that knocks the Meekings rumours.- Summer Transfer Window Thread

Some worrying rumours on Twitter that Rangers are after Meekings. Hopefully this will just be idle Twitter gossip. - Summer Transfer Window Thread
