  1. The odd thing is that against Partick, especially under Jobbie, we seemed to struggle badly when Robbo was in charge. Yet Dodds seems to have had his number in all three meetings so far this season. The 3 - 1 victory early in the campaign was one of the better performances from ICT this season and the 0 - 0 draw down at Firhill was one of the most one sided draws you'll ever see. Mindful of this I am actually feeling quite confident for tomorrow evening. ICT 0 - 3 Partick Thistle.
  2. Saturday was a depressing experience all round. There was almost nothing to get excited about for the entire 90 minutes. Two shots on target if what I've read is correct. That's just not good enough especially when you are at home. Incredibly that we are, mathematically, very much in the mix for a shot at the title yet you know we have no hope of getting anywhere near top spot with these performances over the last month. Appreciate the following question is probably answered by the previous sentence but where have all our supporters gone? Not a chance there were 1,800 fans there. Lucky if there was 800. Absolutely grim.
  3. In fairness that's probably for the best given some of the comments from the likes of Tade, Benedictus, Paton and Spiers that have trickled out in the last few hours.
  4. With Killie ANOTHER player it seems that Polworth is surplus to requirements. Must confess I wouldn't mind him back at ICT but rumours are that he will reunite with Yogi at Dunfermline.
  5. I'm being deliberately obtuse here but would you have thought the same in 2016/17 with Foran in charge?
  6. There's Manny Duku getting released.
  7. Indeed. He was holding the team back so probably for the best he was moved on.
  8. I thought that was a pretty poor game with one of the rare flashes of quality being the difference. Slack play from Sutherland leads to a chance for MacKay to whip in a wonderful cross for Lafferty to easily finish from a few yards out. Apart from this move I didn't think Killie created too much of note that troubled Ridgers. Unfortunately for us we created even less of note. Some long range efforts that went wide from Chalmers and Pearson (I think) and that was it. In the second half we seemed to have a couple of better opportunities to draw level. One of the Killie players made a hash of trying to shield the ball out of play and it looked like McAlear picked his pocket but he couldn't find a team mate to finish off the move. Most of the game seemed to be use trying to get a move going only to end up lumping it towards Sutherland or Hardy and neither of them looked particularly useful holding the ball up. None of the new signings stood out but that was only their first start or full game for us. Pearson and Chalmers could be useful for us but I don't think we got the ball to them enough to show what they can do. On the plus side McAlear and Welsh turned in decent showings in the middle of the pitch and Deas (with Broadfoot) kept Lafferty pretty quiet for the time he was on the pitch save for the goal. An improving Morton team is a tricky test next weekend. Can't say I am looking forward to it.
  9. They're getting Scott Allan as well.
  10. Scratch that. Not a loan but an 18 month contract for the lad.
  11. And as expected it seems we have another signing in the shape of Austin Samuels, a forward from Wolves, coming in on loan. He was at Aberdeen earlier this season and didn't really make much of an impression.
  12. Almost like rumours from a Caley Thistle Instagram page are a load of pish.
  13. Good luck to all these guys(obviously) but I think supporters were hoping for a bit of a lift and maybe get a "name" through the door. There's still time of course...
  14. Some of you may have seen some alarming messages from Kevin McNaughton with caused a lot of concern for his well being. Fortunately, it seems that Kevin has been located by the police and is in safe hands again. If you are struggling with your mental health please consider picking up the phone to your pals, your family or your partner if you can. If you don't feel like you can do so there are a number of organisations with fantastic support services who want to help you. 15. Nah Clyde have always been w**kers.
  16. Lewis Jamieson returns to Saint Mirren. Not too happy with that.
  17. That seems like something the manager should be doing not the Sporting Director.
  18. MacGregor and Mckay are meant to have knee / thigh injuries but the club, for some reason, has declined to offer any injury updates as per usual. Jamieson is rumoured to have had his loan deal cancelled and is back at St. Mirren.
  19. Duffy is a CB so he was playing in his natural position. I would surmise that Dodds likes the solidity of Deas at LB so even though that's not his natural position he offers more serenity there than the likes of Harper or Nicholson.
  20. ICT with another rotten performance after taking the lead is it? Nice finish from Shane for the goal after good work from McAlear (probably our MotM). Clear penalty for Dunfermline and Carson looked like he handled again just before the final whistle. I felt we had a decent claim for a penalty as well but it wasn't to be. Four points from the last 15 available is grim but probably about as much as we deserve. The brilliant performance against Morton is but a distant memory and if the injuries to Mckay and MacGregor are as folk claim then we are going to be struggling significantly against Kilmarnock next weekend. Carson was getting a bollocking from Dodds as the two trudged off the pitch and Jamieson was off the pitch so quickly at full time he was probably half way back to Paisley before the rest of the guys returned to the dressing room. Hard to be bothered to write more after another desperately poor performance. We're just not very good despite our impressive position in the league.
  21. We've signed someone!
  22. Summer 2023. https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/sport/football/inverness-caledonian-thistle/2858836/scott-allardice-caley-thistle-contract/
  23. "Better than last week" is a pretty low bar to be honest given how the game against Raith went.
  24. FWIW, I wouldn't have taken Duku on and instead I would have tried Jamieson as he seems to play well with Mckay and has looked better than Duku in the games he has played. I also wouldn't have taken off MacGregor so unless this was a change that had to be made through injury or fitness I would have gone with: Ridgers Devine Broadfoot Deas Carson Welsh McAlear Walsh MacGregor Mckay Jamieson I might not have started with this formation, probably going with the same 4411 that Dodds did go with, but as the game went on and we needed to get more goals I would have tried the above approach given that we ended the game against Raith with 3 CBs.
  25. You're so close to figuring out why some of the fans aren't 100% happy...
