El Classico
Biggest game of the weekend takes place on Saturday night with Barcelona taking on Madrid at the Nou Camp. Schuster has apparently just been sacked by Madrid after saying his side couldn't beat Barcelona (obviously taking lessons in PR from Brewster )and has been replaced by Juande Ramos. I hope Messi is fit to play as he brings Barca to life and they have been electrifying this season. He scored two excellent goals against Sevilla recently (who defeated Madrid in the Bernabeau at the weekend) and I can't wait to see him go up against the Madrid backline who have looked weak all season. I will be swapping SuperBock for some San Miguel come 9pm on Saturday. Anyone else watching it?

Season Ticket next year
I have said no. I am finding it harder and harder to motivate myself to go through from Aberdeen every 2nd weekend to watch the dross on show just now. Yes you could say I only go when we are winning, and that would be a fair point, but I have been doing this same thing for near on 7 years now with the last 5 as a season ticket holder whilst in Aberdeen having previously been a ST holder when in Inverness. It no longer represents value for money for me and I don't get the same enjoyment out of it as I once did. To be honest, win or lose, football with ICT simply isn't as much fun as it used to be. I don't know what it is exactly but I will be thinking long and hard about renewing next season because right now I don't feel like it's worth my time anymore.

Brewsters excuses
I've not seen that but if he has said that then, pardon my French, that shows how f'cking clueless he is. He would have been well aware of Conways pace and skill on the left. Any SPL football fan will be. So he sticks a centre back to play up against him in an attempt to shackle the threat :thumb04:

They should have karate kicked him in the balls.

The Brewster YES OR NO thread!
I don't agree with PiG (*snigger*) but he has indicated that he is a fan of Brewster for some time now and has obviously cast his vote that way. I doubt very much he is saying it to wind folk up or get a rise out of others. *Moderator hat on* Please try to refrain from abusing other posters in such a manner. Ta!

The Brewster YES OR NO thread!
ICTodd - I've edited your post so people can vote yes or no in the form of a poll Might make it easier to see the representation of what the fans are thinking just now. I have reason for mine but as you say you just want an answer and mine is - yes. He should go.

Rooney
Are people actually suggesting that we aren't starting Rooney because we are scared that Stoke might buy him back or that we will have to pay more money for him already?!

ICT -V- Dundee Utd : matchday thread
If, and I stress if, he should have been tracking / did track Conway back then surely under some pressure from an ICT player he wouldn't have been able to so easily turn and score as he did?

Barrow load of rubbish
In a way he can as the wide players are playing on their weaker side and are having to check back onto their stronger foot to get a good cross in. We saw a perfect example with Imrie in the 2nd half. He had the ball on the right side in the penalty area and instead of taking one touch past the defender and crossing it he had to stop and check back to his left to try and get a cross in. I agree that we should have used the wings better but that would only have been as effective as Yiniteds method had we played our wide men on their natural side. You can point out that Cowie crossed from the left for the goal but just how much did we get from our wide men on Saturday afternoon? I think you'd be hard pressed to say anything other than very little and it is the manager who set the team up.

It's getting scary now!
Who were the group of lads in Section E down the front? They kept going to the end and had a good laugh.

ICT -V- Dundee Utd : matchday thread
One thing I noticed from the highlights was Vigurs shouting at someone after Uniteds 2nd goal but when you see the replay from behind you see Conway run past a static Vigurs to latch onto Dalys knock down. Should Vigurs himself have been the one tracking him?

Barrow load of rubbish
We didn't get lucky. We played the game against them perfectly. If you are insistent on us getting lucky then we simply made our own luck. I think he needs a better run in the team than being thrust in from nowhere (as the poster below says which is why I have included the quote as it sums up how I feel about it). While I agree that you are right in that every striker will come up against the same defenders the fact is playing Barrowman up front on his own against Wilkie and Kenneth was simply not working. And that isn't Barrowmans fault. He is smaller than the pair of them and yet we punted long ball after long ball up to him and asked him to chase lost causes. What we need to give him are balls into the area to attack with his head or crosses across the goal as we did v Aberdeen. He is a penalty box predator and while he can play the lead man role he ws out of luck yesterday because of who he was playing against. He got no change out of Uniteds centre backs and the only time we looked like breaking them down was when we had two up front.

Barrow load of rubbish
Completely agree about Barrowman. The one time we got a ball into the box that he would have liked was the one from Cowie to Rooney. He is a penalty box predator. He isn't going to score for 30 yards and needs balls into the box for him to attack. We gave him nothing yesterday. Aye you're right. He was mince against Aberdeen in the first game of the season when we played to his strengths and he has had some other good performances since then. He isn't getting the right service because of the way we play. Hopeless, aimless long balls for an hour are going to get him nowhere. Or do you think he should have been doing better when being man marked by two 6 ft plus defenders?

ICT -V- Dundee Utd : matchday thread
Hastings is debatable. Some good supporting runs down the left but for me Duncan was average at best. Sorry!

ICT -V- Dundee Utd : matchday thread
Apart from the first 5 minutes we were very poor. Can we defend crosses? United could have scored 5 with some of the crosses going across our goal that just missed. Worst thing was I fully expected us to be beaten today. Can anyone honestly say otherwise?

Jamie Duff at right back
First thing I noticed about the starting line up. Bizarre selection. He was roasted by Conway all afternoon.
-
Barrow load of rubbish
Barrowman was hung out to dry by the bizarre decision to play one up front at home and then punt long balls up to him after 10 minutes where he was easily marshalled by Kenneth and Wilkie. He didn't have a chance today.

who would replace them?
Fabregas and Iniesta would do me for replacing Black and Cowie.

Merkinch welcome for Stenny
What good would that do? They'd probably just batter me as they don't sound like a very likeable bunch of characters, going to games looking for fights. Personally I think anyone who goes to the football with ideas of trying to fight the opposition fans is a tool. Clach, Celtic or ICT, whoever it may be. It's pretty pathetic. Some of the photos on their Bebo sites make interesting viewing. Particularly the one with the (potential) Nazi salute.

To be honest, the Clach lads sound like a bunch of knobs.
