Blackie Signs 'til 2009...
In the order that it appears on the BBC site (IMO!) bad news and good news. Though I thought that Blackie had signed a 2 year extension as opposed to a 2 year deal?

I haven't seen anything saying that he has signed. he has featured as a trialist and talks are ongoing. So no, he hasn't signed. Yet.

Getting a touch of déjà vu here. If you are going to accuse me of anything please can you back it up? :003:

What on earth are you talking about Marty? I fail to see how I am 'preaching' to you. I don't claim to be 100% right and am simply trying to argue my point - I don't think CC should name his targets in the media e.g. Rankin, Stewart et al. You don't need to stoop so low as to start insulting people simply because they don't agree with you. Grow up. Anyway, here is the article where Charlie states his desire to sign John Stewart -> *clicky clicky*

It's not a squabble. It is two people with differing views putting them across. It's a mesage board and there will be some debate and arguments over certain subjects. It would be boring if everyone agreed with each other. I don't agree with Blackieforce but he is entitled to his opinion and there is nothing wrong with him putting that across :003:

You're on a roll here! I don't believe I said that - did my post mention anything about those two players? I am referring to the Rankin fiasco and more recently Blackies contract. I would also have preferred that we hadn't started naming these guys as well come to think of it. I believe I saw somewhere that CC mentioned Stewart - was it the Courier? - before he signed him.

Charlie might want to start with not blabbing to the press who we are trying to sign :003: I'd prefer it if all deals are kept under wraps until they are finalised.

Again - [sarasm]that is clearly what I meant[/sarcasm]. If you could direct me to where I said I could do better or if I was going to take over ICT I would be most grateful :003:

Erm....yes that's clearly what I was getting at. What if our entire defence got injured? Wyness will be back after the Motherwell game and dargo isn't meant to be far off as well. Barry can play up front. Also other people have suggested a change of formation with one striker and Rankin playing behind him. We have plenty of options in our team. It is quite versatile and we can change guys about.

I am booing the decision to sign him. He is not better than what we already have. The wages should not have been much better spent. It makes no difference if we lost out on 'Budgie' from Aberdeen. You shouldn't just sign someone because they are available for the sake of it. Otherwise our first team squad would be bigger than Chelskis. Bayne and Rory can cover for us against Motherwell and Wyness and Dargo should be back after that. Bayne has already scored more goals in the league than Wyness and Dargo so he is doing fine and we carry a threat from midfield that will always create chances like we saw on Saturday at Tynie. A short term panic buy.

You seem to have changed your tune? :006: so if mcswegan scored the winner for us at ibrox or parkhead,u would still boo would u??...sad No of course I wouldn't boo him. But can you honestly hand on heart say that there is a chance of that happening? I still think it is a very poor signing and I am very unhappy about it. There must have been better out there. Christie said oft he two trialists we had earlier that they weren't better than what we had so we wouldn't signthem so why have we signed McSwegan? If he is better than what we have (1 goal in 2 years) then our front line must be dire. When Dargo and Wyness regain full fitness he won't get a sniff. He is a waste of wages that we could have used on getting a right back to cover the currently poor Tokely. I will happily eat my words if McSwegan proves me wrong but I can't see it. Sorry to not go with the crowd.

They did also say that we were after Stewart as well and matched Falkirks bid of > £40k :010:

Until I see anofficial source I shall remain sceptical but nonetheless worried! :015:

I know you are one of the 'believe/positive crew' but your optimism (certainly for me :004:) is unfounded. We are talking about a guy who has had horrendous injury problems, scored 1 goal in 2 years and isn't good enough for a team in the bottom half of Div 1. Now I know Dargo had injury problems and often didn't score but he had time on his side. McSwegan does not.

Another Missed Oppurtunity
*Falkirk Ticket prices* £5 for the kids and concessions fantastic stuff but £15 for adults for this Cup tie which is hardly an attractive offering is daft. Get it down even lower and I bet more folk would turn out for it. This would be a real chance to try and get a much better turnout for this game if we would just lower the prices.

Feyenoord keeps telling us that you guys have the same forum software as this site yet you seem to struggle to use it - learn to quote properly! :016: Again on a more serious note it is not a signing I am happy with. I can only assume like you say it will be more for the coaching side of things. I would not be happy if he is to feature in the first team at any point in the future.
