  1. When? Ian Black was what, 19 or 20 when he started getting into the first team. Pretty much right from the off he showed skill and performed well for us. He showed promise. Rory has not shown any kind of promise for us bar one game against Celtic. He has time on his side but we cannot afford to give him that time while he is playing this poorly. A season out on loan at Peterhead for example might do him some good like it did Robson at Forfar but I don't think Rory has got it. Prunty version 2.0. I don't think so. Previously what we have done is take players that have freed by their previous clubs and we seem to give them confidence and get the best out of them e.g. Wyness, Dargo, Dods even if it's just for a short space of time (i.e. a couple of seasons). Currently our youth system has yielded Grant Munro and Ike?
  2. Interesting to read Charlie talking about where they train - no mention of the HFA. Do the first team use it?
  3. When has McSwegan proved he has a good shot on him aside from the Hibs game?
  4. *Courier Story* Never agreed with his signing in the first place and can't see him being offered a new deal to be honest.
  5. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ian/6563711.stm Why is this worth posting? Well given the rumours about Hibs being after Black this signing might quell any speculation regarding a possible move to Easter Road for Ian. Let's hope so anyway.
  6. Yes. Dods was a Saint Johnstone "cast off" - and playing in a division below Motherwell whose "casts offs" aren't good enough for us according to you. He is a prime example of where we do our buying. Players like Duncan, Wyness and Caff are all "cast offs" in one way or another or are Aberdeen cast offs seen as better than Motherwell cast offs? I wouldn't think so. Regardless, players that are freed by their clubs in the SPL are going to be the ones we are likely to look at given our budget and I see nothing wrong in it if they have something to offer which many players int he past certainly have done. Incidentally, Sutton would be far from a St. Mirren "cast off". He is doing the excat same thing as Dargo and I would love to have him at ICT.
  7. Is that a serious comment? I wish. We could offer a pre-contract but with Cardiff rumoured to be after him there is no chance of us landing him.
  8. What Sarah Said - Death Cab For Cutie
  9. I don't have a problem with Gretna other than when they try and claim they haven't spent any money on their amazing rise to the top oft he SFL leagues. I see now another high profile signing is about to be allowed to leave with MacFarlane rumoured to be told that he is surplus to requirements. Of course these players came to Gretna to work with Rowan and not the massive pay cheques. Tosh and MacFarlane between them took home nearly £3,000 per week :010: While it is entirely up to Brooks what he does with his money to try and claim that the team has been put together without any massive investment is taking the piss. That's what gets people annoyed about Gretna.

    Keogh

Did he not also have some kind of stomach infection or was it something to do with his groin? The reason I ask is that Tokely was suspected to have a very similar injury to Keogh but it wasn't as serious as Liams one.
  11. I was thinking about this and it's not that much of a sideways move. He would make more money than he would with us while still playing first team football c.f. Mark brown who will be on more money but not a chance in **** of starting a game. If anything it would actually be a very smart move indeed.
  12. You must be quite new to this SPL lark. Dunfermline for a time were a regular top 6 side in the SPL. It's only been the last couple of years that they have floundered.
  13. If you're a Falkirk season ticket holder maybe. Doubt I will be able to take this game in. I grudge paying £19 for what is essentially a friendly.
  14. Methinks you are correct! :001:
  15. 21.04.2007 at 15:00 League Inverness CT Motherwell Loss - the Home team in this fixture seldom wins. 28.04.2007 at 15:00 League Dundee Utd Inverness CT Loss - Dundee United are revitalised under CL and I fully expect us to lose this game. Happy to be proved wrong. 05.05.2007 at 15:00 League Falkirk Inverness CT Draw - unless we can learn how to finish then another result like last weekend beckons. 12.05.2007 at 15:00 League Inverness CT Dunfermline Loss - Dunfermline will need the points more and we saw what happened with a team who has something to play for and a team who has nothing to play for meet. Plus we have never looked good against them this season. 19.05.2007 at 13:00 League St. Mirren Inverness CT Draw/Win - Again nothing between the teams and we scrapped past St. Mirren reserves in January. We were thoroughly hammered at Paisley but escaped with a point. A draw would be a good result.
  16. It was me for much the same reason Caley D gave except I felt that it belonged in rumours :003:
  17. I'm sure I read somewhere that Shearer had said he was going nowhere from Buckie (?) so I would take this with a pinch of salt.
  18. Because that was the fault of the police - allegedly. Good to see Milan go through last night :003:
  19. Simple - we are a wee diddy team and we play (in some peoples eyes) some terrible hoof it and hope football. As already mentioned no one outside the OF is going to get much coverage in the papers - the likes of us, Falkirk and Motherwell - so we can't do much about that apart from just win more games and try and elevate our status in the SPL. Other fans see us as a "big, physical team..." etc. You know what I mean. That's just how they percieve us and perhaps to an extent they are right. We do have some big dominating players in our team but a lot of our midfield are midgets and Bayne aside it's not like we have huge folk up front. Our style of football, a lot of the time, won't win many fans (of other teams) but if it gets results you can't complain (too much :004: ).
  20. Every goal was a good one last night. The Roma goal was fantastic - he wasn't even looking at the goal when he shot!

    Andy Bagshaw

Where his attitude was also abysmal! A match made in heaven! :015:
  22. The are trying to preserve their games with the Old Firm and relying on those games to make money for the club. They don't want the league structure to change because they will lose out on OF cash by having less games against them or they will face a scenario whereby the might be relegated and not have any games against the OF at all. The Old Firm will runaway with the league regardless of its setup. I don't see how there will be any meaningless games with a larger number of teams. They will surely be more meaningful than the round of games your club is about to play over the next few weeks? At least they could go up in the table and get more prize money as opposed to knowing you are stuck in 7th and can go no higher.
  23. You wouldn't notice anyone missing tonight to be fair. Fletcher has done all right but he has been over shadowed by a very energetic and hard working Smith who took his goal well, a blistering Ronaldo who has tormented the Roma defence and the excellent Carrick who has scored a couple of great goals and dominated the midfield. All three have performed better than Fletcher.
  24. Now I'm worried because I think you were actually being serious. Fletcher has been anonymous in the first half. The front three have been excellent for Man Utd and Carrick and Giggs have done very well in midfield as well. Fletcher has contributed very little compared to what those players have done so far.
  25. Other - i.e. 18 teams. but no changes will ever happen because any Non OF team in the SPL wants the games against the OF for the money. They won't give that up.
