  1. 3-1 excellent - one more needed :001:
  2. Some interesting maps of Inverness on this web-site - the 1912 map doesn't show any of the grounds but does show some interesting features and places that are still around today. The 1821 shows clearly the area where the citadel (Cromwell's Fort) and the moat stood. 1912 - 1912 map 1821 - 1821 map
  3. I would agree with Mr B and KM that the ground was in the area behind Cromwell's Tower. Cromwell's Tower or Clock Tower, Cromwell Road, Inverness. The tower dates from the 18th century. It marks the site of the Citadel, a fort built in 1652-8 during Cromwell's administration. The fort was demolished in 1660 during the Restoration period source: Am Baile - www.ambaile.org.uk
  4. I assume if he does come in it will be as Player/Manager as it will beat the dead-line and solve one of the board's other problems (up front anyway). Does this mean additional compensation (or was there a clause, as others have previously alluded to, in his Aberdeen contract about mangerial posts). I hope the paperwork was all signed off on Friday evening otherwise if not it could be costly :023:
  5. Interestingly I see Buchanan has not had too bad a start at Partick :023:
  6. looking forward to him winning us that first league title then :023: bad appointment....
  7. cheers chap - all the best with whatever you do next
  8. What they don't know is Sergei Baltacha will be my assistant.... :029:
  9. I thought this was a thread about a new restaurant.... :029: :001:
  10. Lads/Lassies - please give the guy a little bit of peace :33:
  11. Can I ask the older ones amongst you how it was you became a Thistle, Clach, or Caley fan ? Through my father - took me to my first game in 1977. Like others after that I never looked back and even though I have been lucky enough to play at Hampden Park (and scored may I add in the same end as Paul Ritchie) my best football memory is caught perfectly in a photograph I have of a group of young lads with their first cup taken in front of the stand at Kingsmills Park. I like many others who visit this site can say I played at Kingsmills Park and that was the magic. Football has moved on since those days (apart from maybe in Elgin :001: ) but that is what your first club is all about (I am sure the young kids today whose first game is watching ICT will be feeling exactly the same). As a traveller through work I have followed a number of foreign clubs - Tranmere Rovers (?), Manchester City (?), Rot Weiss Essen, Eintracht Frankfurt, CSKA and currently Cherno More but I will always be a Jaggie.... And did you agree with the merger ? And are you happy where you are now ? I was never adverse to going to watch Caley or Clach (football is football after all) and I was always supportive of the merger (maybe if I had been living in Inverness at the time and saw first hand what was going on I might have felt differently). I still think what has been achieved in such a short time is incredible and proves that the decision and the dedication (dogged, mis-found - call it what you want) by those who could see where the future of Inverness football needed to go was correct. Having said that I would still like to see a 4th Stand (oh and a small plaque on the wall on Kingsmills Road to say beautiful football was played here once) :023:
  12. I don't really want to see him back but as the deal has obviously been done we should give him a short-term contract and if he doesn't win the league (a champions league place next season obviously) and one of the cups (pointless setting him an unachievable target) we sack him :023: :024: :029: :33: :sillywave: PS - I suspect him and his pals have been on here and skewed the vote :001:
  13. Strewth CD "Experience" - I still haven't got over Leishman :029:
  14. Indeed CB "an alladin's cave" is possibly the only way to describe upstairs at Coutts especially to a young football daft child - in the days before sports superstores the most exotic strip would have been something along the lines of Derby County's third strip. I can remember when I was young being allowed to choose a football top and went for a Bukta yellow and green Hibs away top - why I don't know - it must have been the colours :023:
  15. mich auch aber.... :001:
  16. oh and a good home performance.... :004:
  17. This was never going to be an easy season (you have to earn the right to stay in the SPL each season) - I as many though was disappointed to lose 1-2 after going 0-1 up so late in the game but that is life and I am sure the boot will be on the other foot at some time during the season (let's just hope it is a Scottish Cup semi-final game :003:). I don't think things are so desperate yet as many seem to point it out to be (look at Well last season) but full points against St.Mirren next week are a necessity to get some normality back.
  18. True won't argue - but 80mins - and not from the start if known to be short of match practice - last 30 minutes+
  19. Whether good or bad it will take time - but at least today's performance was a major improvement's on last weeks and even McGhee was supportive - this is going to be a long season andwith not much between 4 or 5 teams we definitely need goals from our strikers on a regular basis but they should only be playing if fully match fit :024:
  20. :024: Looking forward to seeeing that clip :001:
  21. The Errea factory I thought was in Parma, Northern Italy as they were always banging on about the latest technolgy in sports clothing production and that it is in Italy. As Alex said though there is a Errea Point in Eastern Europe in Romania and there even used to be a Romanian team with an Errea strip but they saw the light and ditched them. Didn't realise that Arbroath had an Errea strip also - so we're not alone in Scotland :003: Time for a change though as discussed many times previously.
  22. The TWTD web-site has a rumours page about who is coming in and who may be leaving. See comments about a young lad called Jordan Rhodes :001: Jordan Rhodes - Ross County - Loan 21/07/2007 Scottish side Ross County have made enquiry about taking Rhodes on loan. Town boss Jim Magilton wants several of his younger players to spend time elsewhere gaining experience. NavyBlue - 22/07/2007 04:58 Ross County? He might as well go out on loan to Stowmarket Town, similar standard! :023:
  23. Good photos - what was the ex-Keith v ex-Caley thing about? Hadn't heard about that before.
