ICT -V- Hearts : matchday thread
just in and while that wasn't our worst performance it was still pretty poor from where i stood. too many players looking like their just not interested and if any game highlighted our desperate need for an experienced striker to play alongside one of our younger guys this was it.we just cant make the ball stick up front and lack the guile to create anything. problem is theres about 8 or 9 other teams looking for the same thing and i cant see where were going to find one. the ref was an absolute clunt and turned down a stone wall penalty on rooney and another decent shout in second half and basically gave us nothing for 90 mins.

ICT -V- Falkirk : Matchnight Thread
first half was a total joke. dont play 1 up at home ever again please, no matter who were playing. thought the players looked thorougly nervous through large parts of the game. hastings had a mare and we didnt win a header until barrowman came on. the subs did the trick for us though and the second half was more encouraging.that said, our best player was the falkirk goalie who gave the worst performance ive seen from any goalie ever.

So easy to say where the 'Buck Stops'!
You have completely misunderstood the point. If you have a poor manager or just plain don't like your manager, then it is highly likely that you are not going to perform well for them. As far as whoever your manager answers to is concerned, it is the managers job to do whatever it takes (within reason obviously) to get you performing well. Therefore the blame lays directly with the manager. however its can also be the case that some perform better for a manager they dont like.many a likeable manager are too nice and dont get the best out of people. it boils down to respect more than anything

Team fer Easter Road ?
He says, just before putting Proctor in his line-up as a forward player :018: :thumb04: just testing you, must be still some jack daniels in the system after last night or maybe its a premonition of brewsters line up for next sat!

POLL: Time to bin Brew?
i'm not defending him to the bitter end jay and if you stood next to me at many games you'd hear me give him pelters from time to time with many others.just facing facts that i'd be amazed if the board ousted him at this stage, its not going to happen and he's definately being let down by a combination of luck and the players but things can change pretty quick in football

POLL: Time to bin Brew?
youre kidding yourselves if you think bennett and co will sack brewster in the near future.we'd need to lose at least our next five and be isolated at the foot to even be on their agenda. in all honesty other than today we've been unlucky in a number of games so far and a change of luck, a couple of results strung together and the picture is different given how tight the league is. i think criticism of brewsters tactics this season have often been over the top but todays inclusion of proctor ahead of duff was scandelous as is our home record in 2008.clearly we have problems but also were not far off turning some of these defeats into victories. the players need to have a good look at themselves. too many are inconsistant in their performances, fraser, cowie, tokely and hastings to name but a few

what is considered an acceptable season
the club aim for 11th first with anything else a bonus which is pretty frustrating as they should be aiming higher otherwise whats the point.with that in mind an acceptable season whether would be bringing through as many young players as possible, selling some our best players to the highest bidder, dont get relegated and maybe a cup run if were lucky

Team For Motherwell
fraser tokely duff munro hastings cowie black duncan imrie wood rooney can see brewster starting just wood up front with mcbain bolstering the midfield though
-
McBain
mcbain can slot in at left back if need be and do a decent enough job but he's not a left back he's a midfielder, plain and simple. credit to brewster for using him at left back when were short but he is much more of a benefit to the team in midfield. roys a players player, doing the jobs others dont like, and sometimes that type of player doesn't always get the plaudits but every team needs them. question is should he and duncan both start

dont see what the fuss over wood starting is. :018: fact is other than the miss in the first half yesterday that his was the best individual display by any of our strikers this season. yes we could have done with signing a decent experienced forward pre season but who would that be on our budget.? we've already got rid of an internationalist forward, a club record goal scorer and a some decent squad players and to be honest i'm not even bothered anymore. quite enjoying seeing what the younger lads have to offer and from what they've shown so far they deserve to be there. wood and rooney for the motherwell game ta :thumb04:

wood just edged out of man of the match by imrie. thought he played a blinder up front a gave the tic defence what for all afternoon. imrie was quality today and cowie playing more like he should. another tantrum from blackie after coming off but he needs to put the dummy back in cos at 2 down and one up front it was the right decision to take him off

Scotland V Norway Match Day Thread
in many respects i dont blame boyd for quitting but maybe he should have taken some time first. he's the best natural goal scorer we have who's produced the goods for scotland when given a chance yet has been largely overlooked by three different managers now and on sat loses out to macfadden who is never an out an out striker, and iwelmo who's making his debut.most people in his shoes would be feeling highly pissed off.dont think burley has handled it well the way he basically rubbished boyd on the radio and he also put his foot in it with broadfoot pre iceland On the other hand if i was lucky enough to play for scotland there's no way i'd ever turn my back on it and is he going to tell walter smith to shove it too considering he's in the same boat at rangers? whatever happens looks like the beginning of the end for burley already and our qualification hopes

Scotland V Norway Match Day Thread
on another day it could have been 3 each. on chances created norway deserved 3 points while the best chance fell to us which was a miss of van vossen quality. not that we played that badly but we started wrong team. should have started boyd and iwelmo. despite what most think though i still dont think qualifying is beyond us yet
