I'm reliably informed that the Hibs revolt was about the inexperience of John Collins as a manager and how that reflected in the training at Easter Rd.

Well that's just it, what exactly has he done recently that deserves praise? Giving Falkirk a goal scoring opportunity when we were in an attacking movement? Holding the ball up in an attacking position, waiting for support only to be moved off the ball by the defender about four or five yards behind him breathing heavily? IMO it's not down to us whether he is successfull (sp?) or not, it's down to him knuckling down and improving vastly. If he dosn't then the only success he'll ever have is with a team playing in 2nd/3rd divisions.
  3. Perhaps so, still dosn't change my opinion of him though. He was playing Highland League football, if he was up to it, why did the tinks not go for him?
  4. I'd like to see that Coakley boy that was released from Motherwell, along with Callum Elliott. Forwards sorted. I'd like to see an attempt to get a season long loan deal with John Kennedy, lastly a goalkeeper would be nice, Ally Ridgers does not make for a comfortable 2nd choice keeper.

Indeed it is. I've done a bit of research into the Halls around Belmont Tower and they are pretty much to the same standard as the tower itself. You should definately be aiming for them, Belmont Tower or Balfour Flats (connected to the Tower on stilts :017:)

Im doing Geography, is that classed as a life science? Hey university isnt about the course anyway :022: No offence intended to anyone living in Aberdeen but its so grey and depressing that I dont think I take 4 years there. Plus I cant walk to watch my team on a saturday :003: Any advice on the halls of residence at Dundee, wheres good and wheres bad? No it's not, you'll be happy to hear I'm sure :003:

Best halls by a country mile is Belmont Tower - or at least they were when I lived there. Not been in any of the new halls around them though so they might be worth a sniff. West park is miles away from civilization Seabraes, from what I've seen is nice, but if you can part with that sort of cash, you'll be better in Belmont Tower. Peterson Halls, if they are still on the go is a no no, as are Tay Mills, and Wimberley Halls. The only other thing thats worth advising is listen carefully to what the older students have to say about The Union, as they are invariably correct.

Depends what subject your doing. If it is anything to do with life sciences, you're in for a long four years. I was doing Physiology with Sports Biomedicine, and the quantity of irrelevent guff they teach is rediculous. Night life is good though! :021:
  11. Juanjo was from Spain though, I believe players only require work permits to play in Scotland if they are from countries outide of the EU.
  12. Fantastic quote from Gordon Strachan in todays Sun: "Everyone loves a semi at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon"
  13. I will constructively Criticize, I will be bitterly disappointed if we have signed John Sutton. I just don't rate him at all. Not sure about McPake though, I will wait and see about him. *Edited to include: I see Motherwell have axed 10 players including Shaun Fagan, and Adam Coakley. Coakley might just be what we're looking for?

    wood??

Are you sure you didn't hear the version he prepared for his parents. I doubt that even professional footballers don't train that much!! Sounds like he rather be with his mates hanging round shops than playing football :014: Pro footballers train 5 days a week, their days off include matchday. He is not the sort who "hangs around shops" as you so quickly stereotyped and is more interested in sport career than you might think.

    wood??

Well this is what I'm getting at. Where are they? They aren't exactly queuing up to get a game for us are they? Youngsters are not pro's and more importantly, they are still physiologically developing, therefore they should not be expected to train more than twice a week. Once a youth reaches 17 then perhaps their training workload should be increased. If the intensity and frequency of training is indeed at the levels I have been told about, then it is no wonder our youth system dosn't produce.
  17. El Presidente are Sheeeeite, They played at The Union here in Dundee where a nasty robbery took place... £7 it cost me to see them!

    wood??

I know a young lad who very recently knocked back an oppertunity to be a member of the U19's squad. Reason being, he reckoned the coaches were being too pushy, they want kids aged 14-19 to train 3-5 times a week, if you fail to turn up to training more than 3 times, your no longer playing for ICT. Now I'm all for encouragement, without that the kids will be useless. If this is the case though, and the coaches and contracts are a little constrictive, then it can only have a detrimental effect on the production of future "Local hero's".
  19. Fer fecks sake man - I will buy it off ya - it could be a feckin time machine. How does £500 sound? Even then, I'm cutting my own throat at that... :003: :023:
  20. I was playing about with my sisters new Satnav (Navman F20 for those interested) I was quite impressed with it until I looked up local stadiums, aparently we still play at Telford St :010:

    Negative Tactics

I'd liked to have seen Paatelainen starting. When Wilson got injured, Sutherland would have been a better choice. Bringing on McAllister was completely wrong IMO, the boy has no presence. I'd like to have seen Wood brought on instead of Rory.
  22. Boring game, shocking ref. Goals were well taken, bitterly disappointed that it was Rory and not Markus that was subbed on, Rory was awful.
  23. It's not that the club wouldn't let us have a singing section, IIRC this is an old chestnut and never seems to materialise through lack of interest.
  24. I doubt Christie has it in him to win the Champions Leauge and then have the supporters trust build a statue of him outside TCS! :017:
  25. I also have my tickets :021:
