  1. mmm, that would be 'Tariff-ic' ... I should setup an autocorrect on here so that any reference to that particular individual is automatically changed to TangoMan. [off topic]: It is safe to say he is not very popular north of the border right now with threats to annex Canada and make it the 51st state. He is single-handedly responsible for this shift in the polls right now where the liberals were tanking under Trudeau and now surging under the new PM, Mark Carney. He is possibly the only man on the planet who could potentially have got us in more trouble than we are now if he were in charge the last few years.
  2. I think at this point, any Caley Thistle fan will not care where we play (in Inverness) so long as we have a team who are allowed to play and not liquidated out of existence.
  3. The Bught would never happen. Yes, it is green space and has sporting history, but why would or should the football club muscle in on athletics, shinty and rugby? not to mention the green space for walking around the islands and other leisure facilities. Transport links may have improved from the 1990s when it was considered and thrown out, and while they are better, they are still not great... but all the issues of sharing the space are still there. Kingsmills is now housing and Telford Street is retail so neither are an option. I am guessing that UHI is being suggested as most universities do tend to have athletic or sports programmes and these at some point require facilities that the university or donors help to finance. A purpose-built compact stadium at UHI may come at a lower cost than we might think (or not). Is this the end game? to interest a potential buyer in taking over the lease currently occupied by the Caledonian Stadium, negating the need to discuss land deals for the other small parcels being mentioned, and potentially adding that land to the freeport .. then getting any new buyer to fund relocation to a smaller site? This is basically what we hoped ASDA would do all those years ago !!!
  4. In reality, it depends on who agreed and who is pending. If RM is pending then anything and anyone else is pretty much irrelevant. Again, depends on who is in that "number of creditors". With NDAs in place, then hopefully BDO and the potential buyers could agree to "meet" with those creditors if that's all it will take. However, the hypocrisy of "ensuring the club is in good hands" beggars belief. Those same people employed a man who we all blame for the situation we are in, must still take their own part of the blame for allowing that man to operate without any governance or oversight, and then tried to flog the club to Makwana! With all due respect - their definition of good hands is full of shit! IMHO. Presumably because everything is correctly going through the administrators and has not yet got to the stage in any agreement where all the hurdles have been jumped over and it then requires a conversation about the land ... If you cant get past the debt, ownership and shareholding issues then discussion about parcels of land are irrelevant. This smacks of PR spin, and an attempt to polish the turd of how those same people allowed the club to be run for the last 6 or 7 years.
  5. IF the club does go to the wall, then Alan Savage will be able to hold his head up high at his efforts. They are and will be appreciated. The club has been a pissing contest for too many people over the years, including - it has to be said - AS first time around. However, he has absolutely stepped up to the plate since admin raised its head all those months ago and has been trying to drive things forward as far as we can see. Egos and squabbles seem to have been the order of the day over the years with the average fan simply having to watch from the sidelines because we can't afford to be in this particular game. I really hope that something can be done, that some miracle can be worked, that some of this cold reality brings some people around. The idea of ICT not being around after 30 years is unthinkable for all of us. It is a community, a family, a link back to our hometown for many of us, and important to us all. If those who own the shares, and who profess to love ICT can get around a table then FFS, put those dam egos aside and get it done! The money in your wallet may have been real, but the longer this goes on, the more it resembles and is worth as much as, monopoly money.
  6. Club just sent out a notice for Alan Savage hosting a press conference at 3PM today.
  7. Seems to be mostly in our colours 🙂
  8. we appear to have had a bit of a server brain fart last night. should all be resolved now.
  9. Penalty missed by Blair Alston
  10. Wow. stopped watching the app as I thought it was HT 🙂 even happier now.
  11. and Keith Bray just before half-time: 3-1
  12. yeah, my app showed that too 😞 A win tonight would lift us to 7th and then we would be chasing QOS for 6th ... but given that Stenny are the form team in the division right now, I'd settle for a draw tonight ... and we just went 2-1 up ! (Charlie Gilmour) worryingly it also shows Billy coming on for Alfie Bavidge after 13 mins. Cant be good.
  13. Hope the app is right this time ... it just said we went 1-0 up ! (Ben Brannan). confirmed on my other app now too (OneFootball)
  14. According to Fotmob app, we are now 8 minutes in so 8:05 kickoff or thereabouts? Although same app also says kickoff at 8:20pm ... and then it changed the elapsed time to -5:00 as i looked ... in other words, no-one knows yet 🙂 Edit: club just posted update to say 8:20pm KO https://x.com/ICTFC/status/1899554070429585670
  15. Hopefully tomorrow's game will be a quacker ....
  16. I would agree, and much of it is currently out of our hands, or the manager's. Kudos to those who have indicated they want to stay and fight for ICT, and no hard feelings to those who choose not to do so, or who must look to their own family and career first. Personally, I am hoping for a good outcome to things in the next few weeks, and hopefully, our reputation on how we handle playing staff is starting to recover from the previous 'people in charge'. We also have a manager who has been a breath of fresh air in terms of both tactics and how he handles press and fans, along with a dyed in the wool ICT stalwart acting as CEO who is working for the good and benefit of the club. I am presently more optimistic than perhaps I should be, that we can either retain or attract players who can turn the club around slowly but surely. It will be a long slow process and there will be bumps in the road, but thinking about it last night, I believe that with Savage, Christie and Kellacher, along with the hard-working staff behind the scenes we do have the right people in key positions to pull in a single direction for the good of the club.
  17. Scotty replied to tm4tj's topic in Caley Thistle
Barry Ferguson as interim manager: "Ferguson, 47, is a Rangers icon having formerly been club captain and winning loads of major trophies. But this is his first coaching gig since 2022. The former Clyde, Kelty Hearts and Alloa boss will be joined in the dugout by current Gers No2 Issame Charai plus ex-players Neil McCann, Billy Dodds and Allan McGregor".
  18. I have the VHS and also the DVD (somewhere) but it’s NTSC system over here not PAL so unable to play either. I wonder if the club could make a few bob by releasing all three items as digital downloads for those who have lost, can’t play, or don’t have the originals? Not sure of any copyright issues that might make it difficult but if these can be overcome or don’t exist then it might be a good option as a 25th anniversary of the night we went ballistic for the first time.
  19. "I think I was really unfortunate I lost my job through administration" Really? I think you were lucky you lost it that way ... at least you don't have a performance related sacking on your record which you would undoubtedly have had, or should have had, had you not been let go in the first 5 minutes of administration. SK has shown what can be done with the bare bones of the same squad when tactics and training are applied by an actual manager.
  20. My original point about staying up in the division, and the significance of climbing out of the playoff/relegation zone wasn't really based on prize money or anything financial as such, but more that as a League 1 team we are (slightly) more attractive than we would be as a League 2 team. That attractiveness also increases if any potential buyer looks at the fact that we technically started on -15 points and were still able to claw our way to safety. That shows potential. Next season, assuming a 5-point penalty instead of 15, we are effectively 10 points better off starting the season that we were this year so the potential to aim for the championship is far greater. If we can make it back to the championship, then as noted, we will play 'bigger' teams with bigger support and although the prize money is still **** compared to Premiership it is higher but, more importantly, it would be a remarkable show of resilience and potential. The last 30 years have showed we definitely have bags of potential if the management of the club can be done right ...
  21. Getting ourselves up to 8th spot would also be a significant landmark. If we can remain in the current division then financially we are more attractive. Without -15 points we would be at the right end of the table under SK and next season with a -5 point deduction perhaps it could be more successful ....
  22. A win at Palmerston is always a tough ask, been some good tussles with ourselves and "the only team in the bible" over the years. Remember a couple of enjoyable (but long) away days there in the past. No points is a bit of a kicker but on the plus side we seem to have competed and came close. Confident we can close the gap on Annan over the coming weeks and reach safety. Refreshing that SK maintains an honest outlook. Also great that Bavidge has 3 goals in 3 games!
  23. For context - Ross and Nairn mutually agreeing to him stepping down is what is being referred to: https://www.forres-gazette.co.uk/sport/ross-tokely-steps-down-as-manager-of-nairn-county-after-forr-372163/ . Onwards and upwards big man. #ICTLegend.
  24. true - but always nice to see something positive these days.
