Particks Away Top
there are a few beauties here. I think Hull's "tiger" strip still wins it, but the PT one comes close. http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Articles/Room_101.htm also see: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport...ticle862610.ece http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story...ime&cc=5901 http://www.ave-it.net/badfootballkits.htm

shop and ticket office to go
no idea, but guarantee you that they are taking a significant cut of the proceeds - and therefore profits - for providing the online service. If the club shop was not making cash perhaps if the club had been a touch more imaginative in the range of stock available it would have been more viable, remember its not that long ago when Savage was Chairman he was looking to get rid of the portakabin and build a proper shop Whilst I appreciate the point about low sales in the town centre, I would respectfully suggest that there has never been what I would consider a "real" effort to merchandise our stock in the Town Centre. All of the tie-ups with retails stores have been half-hearted. I would also agree with Stevico in terms of the range of goods available. I think you might be surprised at the demand if it was done right, or at least, "differently". See below I would agree and can talk from experience of the online shops I setup for them, and my own experience with the ones that came after. The two shops I setup were "semi-automated". by that, I mean the order process was automated, you went on, selected the item, size, colour etc and entered your delivery and payment details (on a secure screen) and all the information was automatically sent to the club. The payment process then happened manually. The club would add an appropriate delivery charge and run it through visa or whatever and send it out to you. It worked pretty well. The reason for the manual process was that the club did not at that time have a merchant account setup to allow online credit/debit card processing. The more recent incarnations of the shop, first PTV and now the other one are fully automated in terms of ordering and payment processing but it still requires manual intervention for dispatch obviously. The HUGE downside to this as far as I am concerned is the automatic delivery charges that are added. Unlike the first couple of shops, they take no account of the actual cost of postage or the order value. I dont remember the accurate sales levels from the shops I set up for the club as all the data was turned over to them and the operational databases were then deleted/destroyed, but from memory, I believe there was something in the region of 1500 online orders in a little under 3 years, so thats about 10-15 online orders a week at a time when we were still a relatively small club. Most of these orders came from outside Inverness and I know for a fact that the low (or appropriate) delivery cost was a big part of that. I actually went to the PTV supplied shop a couple of years ago in an effort to buy a calendar and a few other bits and bobs. I cant remember the price of the calendar, but I do remember it was going to cost a flat rate fee of ?15 to post it to Canada. As I had bought my new shirt and some other stuff on a visit home a few months earlier I cancelled the sale and never thought about it again. If charges were re-thought so that they were appropriate for the goods ordered (ensuring that actual postage costs were covered of course) then perhaps more people would order more stuff online. I know I would !!! I would also like to see the club have their shop as part of their site and featured in the programme. If it is part of the site, you can do your own promotions and display your own ads or features on various pages of your site. When it is all done by a third party separate to your own site, its not so easy !

shop and ticket office to go
I am as p***** off about this move as anyone else, perhaps even moreso than some, as I like and respect those tasked with running the shop and always found them to perform to a level far in excess than that which could be called merely "acceptable". We have had threads on here countless numbers of times slagging off the physical building (ie. portakabin) but virtually all of those who would slag off the building had nothing bad to say about the staff. That speaks volumes considering the dogs abuse that some other ICT staff get on here. I understand some of the logic behind it - we didnt have a "proper" shop before we reached the SPL so we are pretty much reverting to our previous arrangement. Sales through the week will likely be done from reception, perhaps with some part-timers (or volunteers) doing it on matchdays. This is a backwards step for sure, but perhaps it is considered a necessary one in terms of controlling cashflow/costs. We dont know the numbers as we dont have access to the projected income from gates/advertising/sponsorship etc which is all likely to be down significantly from last year's level. The same logic probably applies to ticket sales too. In the SPL we had far more games where pre-match ticket sales were essential but in the SFL, not so much. My biggest fear in all of this - and I am not just talking about the shop staff here - is that necessary or not we have got rid of some very talented people from all areas of the stadium who have developed, tweaked and fine tuned the processes that are in place now and who can get things done in a manner that seems almost effortless due in no small way to their knowledge and skill. When we once again reach the SPL, that talent pool will not just come flooding back, many of them will stick two fingers up at the club and say "**** You !!". We will then be faced with employing inexperienced staff (not their fault), who will have a steep learning curve in trying to to get to grips with processes that the poeple we let go know inside and out. Its nothing to do with "nice people" as AF puts it ... its to do with talent and capability and trying to maintain at least some of our professional approach. I also have fears that the club will think they can rely on online ticketing and the online shop for sales and may not have fully explored the overall process of either. If they had, they would realise that - just like websites or forums - both require a significant amount of behind the scenes work to keep them ticking over that those on the front end (or in management) never see. I am not sure about the ticketing as that is something I had nothing to do with beyond a few suggestions 6 or 7 years ago, but having setup the club's first two online shops (one on SportNetwork [when we were in the lower divisions] and one on the temporary official site before the PTV contract kicked in [when we were promoted to the SPL]), I know how much work was involved in the setup, in training the staff to use it, how much administration was needed to make sure cash came in and goods went out in a timely fashion, and how important it is to have someone there keeping the online inventory - descriptions, photos, stock levels, order processing and dispatch - up to date. If you take the current situation, with a somewhat amateur looking shop, provided by a third party, and then have someone at the club who's actual job is something else and get them to "play at it" every so often, when they have the time, it is, IMHO, a recipe for disaster. I hope it doesnt turn out that way and that I am completely and utterly wrong, but I can see this rapidly moving higher up the list of subjects we like to moan about as posted by Mr Bannerman in another thread.

shop and ticket office to go
Online sales via the website or through the front office window at the stadium probably dont think that link-up has existed for quite some time - see back issues of BB for confirmation.

NEW CHANTS!
On a similar note, you could rip off one of the Toronto FC Danny Dichio songs (which were probably ripped off from someone else anyway) ...... and use it for Rossco Tokely !! .... Tokely !! ..... He's Rossco Tokely He's got no hair, we dont care Rossco Tokely ....... [repeat till tired] not sure of the tune's name but do a youtube search for "Toronto FC Dichio Song" or similar and you will probably find it ... cant post a link now as YT is blocked at work, but will post a link when I get home if I can find one.

Livingston FC
As much as I dislike Livi, I cant laugh at their misfortune, nor the misfortune of any club that goes to the wall. All of these clubs, (even Gretna) have/had fans and it is them who always get the shaft, not to mention the players and staff who lose their livelihood or jobs as a result of this. A few bad decisions at our own club, or a prolonged spell outside the SPL, and its not beyond the realms of possibility that we could find ourselves in a similar situation one day ... we have already had a lot of cutbacks and redundancies as a result of our drop to Div 1 ... I wouldnt want it to get any worse.

Predict SFL1
if they dont get demoted to Div2 or Div3 - and there is a possibility of either depending on which press reports you read - then it is likely they will get at least a 10 point penalty as the administration process had started. If you couple that with the almost certain upheaval at the club right now that has seen them get blasted out of two cups in two weeks then I cant see them making a fast start so they could be 20 points behind within a few weeks and they are not going to make that up........... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...ton/8179998.stm

Why would we want him? His only association with ICT, as far as I can tell, is being on a golfing holiday in Spain when we demolished his club at Parkhead .......

Sfl Prediction League
final reminder for folks to get signed up and make their predictions ..... league kicks off in 4 days. Just a note on the Livi situation. Should there be any action on the Livi front, such as demoting them out of Div1, then we will simply substitute them with their replacements (Airdrie?) in all prediction league games. Your predicted scores for those games will stand, although you will be able to amend any of the games that have not yet taken place.

Stuart McCaffery
squad lists provided by premiumTV not ICT so their error .... bit embarrassing that they cant go in and change that error though.

Stadium Announcer
Indeed ... and many of them have appeared in this thread ;) I agree wholeheartedly, but unfortunately this kind of psychology has been a feature of this forum for some time now. I suppose that it's just that some people need football as a medium to express certain deepseated and sometimes even subconscious dissatisfactions in their lives. As a result there's they create a hierarchy of targets within the football ground and when criticising one isn't possible, they move on to the next in the pecking order. Such a hierarchy/ pecking order might typically read - The Manager The Players The Stewards Mike Smith Car Parking Caley D's announcing The PA system The ballboys The pitch The pies The toilets The weather Fred Goodwin you forgot the "admins/mods" Charles ... thats in there somehwere between car parking and the manager depending on the day of the week ........

Captain Next Season
I am with Mike on this one ..... as for dragging the site down ? like many other posters you BOTH (DC & Renegade) have your moments so its very much a case of pot/kettle as far as I am concerned. However Renegade, this one is all on you. You are trying to resurrect a dead topic by stirring up controversy about our club captain from a blurb in a program from gawd knows how long ago that probably wasnt even written by him just has his name against it. Are you actually a supporter ? Fair dos to criticise players for a bad performance or say why one should be captain over another but to systematically abuse him by calling him cowardly and all sorts of other things, when you havent even seen him play in these games is not the actions of a fan as far as I am concerned. This topic and poll died the moment Terry Butcher named Grant as his captain for the season so it will probably be closed very soon.

Player Sponsorship
Those who havent paid, or who havent made arrangements with Guzz to pay have now been removed. We now have enough payments received to go ahead but if anyone else is desperate to come in we can accomodate them. I will leave Guzz to confirm any further details.
