ICT -V- Partick : Matchday Thread
The difference is though ... the P&J doesnt claim to be anything that it is not !!!!! The P&J byeline: (based on their own descriptions on their website): "North of Scotland - Aberdeen News - Press and Journal". Daily newspaper serving the North-east of Scotland. Also - http://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/AboutUs.pdf The Herald byeline: The Herald - Latest Scottish News, Business, Politics, Sport from Glasgow, Edinburgh - all Scotland. Latest news, current news and breaking news from Scotland the UK and the world. Political, business, sport, crosswords, video and pictures. The Herald. In its 'meta-tags' (which the P&J dont use for some reason), the Herald also has these words designed to be flagged up on searches .... "Scottish, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee, Inverness, glasgow herald"

In fairness, that article was from before the Partick game and Pavel only got clearance on the morning of the game. Kalnietis has mentioned he is back in Riga this week, which is pretty understandable given that he didn't know how the trial would go, and wouldn't have packed or brought much gear with him. It has also been suggested he will be back on Wednesday ..... I guess we won't know till the weekend whether he will play or not unless Brewster makes any comment in the weekly press conferences.

U19 Report
As some folk might know, the Under 19 squad is currently in Turkey under the EU?s Da Vinci Initiative which allows for fully funded 14 day training camp which also involves a series of matches. The squad under Alex Cleland left Inverness overnight on Monday (5th) and flew from Manchester to Turkey on Tuesday. They played their first competitive game on Friday, a report of which is shown below. REPORT ?In a change to the planned schedule the Under 19's this afternoon (Friday) took on De Graafschap Reserves from Holland's top division while on their training placement in Turkish city Antalya. With conditions hot and humid the boys showed great character to come back from two goals down to claim a deserved draw against a very good side which included players up to ten years older than them. De Graafschap had most of the early possession on a pitch which resembled a bowling green and only a superb double save from goalkeeper Keiran Wilson midway through the first half kept the game goal less. They eventually took the lead when a good move down the right produced a cross to the back post for a supporting midfielder to finish. Striker Daniel Park was causing the Dutch side problems with his pace and directness and he came close with a free kick effort which went over the bar. At the half-time interval we made three changes with Scott-Woodhouse, Morrison and Sutherland replacing Hemsley, Fraser and Carrol. Within one minute of the re-start De Graafschap extended their lead when a through ball was latched onto by their striker and showed good composure to finish. However the boys reacted well and took the game to their opponents and were soon awarded a penalty for handball in the box and midfielder Gavin Morrison kept his cool in the heat to send the goalkeeper the wrong way and it was game on. We were now dictating the play and got our reward when Daniel Park smashed a great free kick into the back of the net from just outside the box. Park and strike partner Shane Sutherland were pulling the Dutch defenders all over the pitch and Sutherla nd was unlucky not to get himself a goal. Firstly when he reacted quickly in the box but could not put the ball away from close range and then towards the end when he produced a great turn on the half-way line to beat his man and raced in on goal but his shot was smothered by the De Graafscap goalkeeper. The game finished in a 2-2 draw and the coaching staff will be looking for the boys to keep up this level of performance in their remaining two games. ICT Team Wilson Hemsley, Porter, Finnis, Shinnie Leslie, Rennie, Fraser, Ross Park, Carrol Subs: Allison (GK), Scott-Woodhouse for Hemsley (46 mins), Morrison for Fraser (46 mins), Sutherland for Carrol (46 mins)?

Strip Design
I have received the text from the club for the next issue of BB and although it will take me a few days to get enough time to format and publish it, I wanted to put this extract up on the board as time is of the essence. One of the questions was related to fan input into the design of the new away strip and the club have responded as follows: So this is the thread for people to upload designs for AWAY KIT ONLY. Any posts showing a kit that is not predominantly white (as per the club's requirement), or that take the discussion off in other directions will be deleted. For reference: The original kit design discussion can be found here: http://community.caleythistleonline.com/in...pic=9459&hl For those who know what a PSD file is, and how to use one, the 2007/08 and 2008/09 files can be found here: http://community.caleythistleonline.com/in...s&showcat=4

Think that part of your argument died when the paper's name was changed from the "Glasgow Herald" to merely "The Herald" as part of a management buyout in 1992 and further solidified with a relaunch in 1998. That report is as biased as you might expect to see on a fan website.

There is a new adjustment to the rules in place to cover overlapping seasons - when you do a google search of 'fifa three club rule' you will see that the FAI petitioned to have this changed and it was ... not sure when it came into effect. You could well be right about Proctor, can't remember that one, in which case I guess it depends on how they class "transfer of registration". Article 5 makes it sound like the registration transfer is at the national level so transfers within borders would be ok, but even the pundits on the weekend who were discussing a few different players couldnt say for sure .... I will concede however that most of their discussion involved transfer between England/Scotland and wondering whether the Charity Shield was included as there were a few examples of players playing in that for one club but then being allowed two moves ... such as Pedro Mendes who played in it this year for Portsmouth, then moved to Rangers 5 days later and is subject of transfer speculation during this window. Anyhoo, he's not here, may not come to us, so no point in adding him to the team on this thread. Stevico - you are right .... I missed out the other change. Zadi should never wear an ICT shirt again. Hastings in for him for sure.

Elliot couldn't come to Inverness unless he got special dispensation from FIFA and then permission from the SFA as he's already played for 2 clubs this season. 2 clubs were in the same country - I believe that is OK as the registration would not have moved from the SFA**. anyhow - coming of the 3-0 win, I reckon we keep the team same as it was on Saturday with the exception of maybe swapping Rooney for Barrowman. Black is a judgement call. I dont think he will be here by the end of the week, but if he is then do we play him or not. McBain and Duncan have been good in the last couple of games so would we want to slot him in in place of one of these two ... perhaps not. Edit: ** Article 5 of FIFAs rules: Players may only be registered to play with a national association during one of two registration periods per year, as laid down by the national association for this purpose, with a limit of one transfer of registration per player in the same sports season in a period of 12 months. One of these periods (?registration periods?) is fixed for the end of the season and another period for the middle of the season. Amateur players transferring within the same national association shall be exempt from these restrictions. Special provisions can equally apply to the loan of players

Just a suggestion, but why not phone (or email) ICT and ask them if they would confirm with Hamilton if this will be allowed. Explain that you are getting a bit of a runaround and dont want to take the drum only to find you cant bring it in. Obviously, with the free buses being laid on by ICT directors, and the reduced entry fee from Hamilton, both sides are fully aware that it is important to create an atmosphere and get behind their players so ICT might try to help you as the added atmosphere could help them too !!! If it is OK, ask them to email you so you can print it out and take it with you in case of any hassles at the turnstile.

Can someone please clear up a point
see this is turning into a proclaimers thread but 'D' is right .... clubs can have up to 4 loan players at any one time, but only one of those players can be over 21. Think this also clears up the confusion about McNulty and Kerr being at Elgin as both are u21
-
Can anyone explain why....
Its a shame that advertising of "homecoming" seems to have been restricted to the other side of the pond !!! Have seen virtually nothing over here. I know that a few politicos were over last year hob-nobbing with the Bay St business types ..... but they seem to have largely ignored the actual Scottish Diaspora.

Yup, a good result today, but it doesnt magically fix the problems. If we can pull out a decent performance next week, and the new signings perform as well as they have today then maybe there will be cause for hope, but its too early to make any conclusions based on today's performance alone. Having said that, lets enjoy the result ... a home win, a clean sheet, and what appears to be a decent debut for the new lads.

I noticed that. It suggests that either we are stopping him from being cup-tied because we are hoping to work out some deal with Hearts to allow him to leave now, or that Brew is being pig-headed. cowie plays so hes now cup tied Yeah, noticed that too .... but I guess that as he hasnt actually signed a pre-contract with anyone yet then it would be folly to keep him out of the side.
-
Experienced Players?
24 days left. You can also only buy or offer deals to those who are available. I think Pressley is the "experience" we are/were hoping for and he has yet to give a final answer (although NO seems more likely with each passing day). We also havent signed a striker so perhaps the search still continues.

surely you meant "Fraser in for Esson, Mihadjuk and Djebi-Zadi come in at the back and Morais comes into the midfield".
